What video games are you playing now?

Space Empires V: A slight problem in Quikil now, in the form of 13 Cue Cappa ships anchored around Quikil VA ... it's an unusually strong battlegroup, led by three battleships with four capital ships in escort. I'm tempted to be aggressive and attack it with every ship I have available - in theory the siege drones ought to be just as useful for bombarding a squadron, and the Vulture-class cruisers can each give a fierce temporal tachyon cannonade. First sight of Cribit suggests it will be a tough nut to crack. There's another 13 Cue Cappa ships there as well, with another three battleships. Battlefleet Green (Vanguard) is at least better equipped to deal with it, what with 12 capital ships and half as many escorts assmbled.

Finances are now properly under control, so I've ordered more siege ships to be built. A new squadron for the Cribit campaign is obvious, but after some thought I've decided to take proper control of Hesperos as well. With the Drushocka out of the way I could get some good income from the radioactives there, and really, they've been nothing but trouble anyway

Survived a Lv.8 Drilltusk in MH Generations -- where you hunt a Drilltusk AND GAMMOTH in the Polar Field (Ukanlos's arena). Would have been easier if traps were allowed in that room! In the end, we focused on Drilltusk first so we could eliminate one, after which Gammoth was smooth sailing (despite two carts and being low on healing items).

Then we introduced ourselves to the Silverwind Nargacuga -- rough start, but we eventually did turn the tables and get an upper hand. I was starting to wonder how much HP it had and then we landed a killing blow.

Pokémon Ultra Sun

Today was great. While trying for a shiny Stunfisk (no luck with that yet), I wound up encountering Cobalion. I had awesome luck with Xurkitree’s Discharge, taking Cobalion’s health down to the red and paralyzing it with just one hit. I tried to catch it in one of my less than forty Beast Balls — then finally succeeded with only three left! I also evolved a Clauncher into Clawitzer, and my brother even evolved Nala the Cosmoem for me.

And now here I am with my lovely Lunala.

I remember catching a shiny Stunfisk in my White version years ago!

Anyway, I've been playing Metroid: Samus Returns. About 60% done with powerups, I've been going to all the previous areas and trying to pick up stuff I missed because I didn't have all of the upgrades yet

Octopath Traveler, completed Cyrus', Tressa's, Olberic's, and Primrose's chapter 4's today after a lot of grinding I've been doing. Now going to move on to my second file team and do their stories.

I’ve been playing the Steam version of Yume Nikki, finally. I’m really happy to play an English release that the creator of the game gave their blessing to. Plus, it’s just nice to visit such a familiar and relaxing game again, like an old friend. I’ve even done things that I had never done in the game before! I found the Hot Springs, did the Famicom glitch, and the most infamous thing in the game, Uboa.

Okami HD (Switch) - Still fairly early into the game. It's good to get back into it though. Might play more of it later tonight.

Octopath Traveler, on my second file team and completed Therion's, H'aanit's, Alfyn's, and Ophilia's chapter 1's and grinded the party for a while and will start on their chapter 2's either tonight or tomorrow.

Stardew Valley. Started a file for the Riverland farm.

Octopath Traveler, still grinding my second team. Haven't tried the chapter 2's of Therion, H'aanit, Alfyn, and Ophilia yet since I felt I wasn't exactly ready to tackle it last night, though I'm definitely going to later.

Space Empires V: That Cue Cappa battlegroup in Quikil tried to warp through into Galgamis, to be met by two-thirds of Battlefleet Green. Annoyingly it seems an allegiance subverter on a battleship managed to affect the computer-controlled HMS Magrathea. The rest of the battlefleet quickly put it down - the only casualty of the battle. Next turn I'll hit three planets with strikes and press on to the rest as fast as possible. Quite probably the fleet will need refits after this campaign.

Some scouting has shown up an interesting weakness in Cretirk. There's a Cue Cappa planet woefully underdefended and also hugely valuable for it's sheer size and oxygenated atmosphere. I've ordered a new I-Series invasion freighter built, to be rushed to the system as fast as possible. Lesson learned for the future - have a battlefleet reserve ready for such operations.

In the meantime I've decided to take a risk and move Battlefleet Green (Vanguard) up into Cribit, to try and destroy that Cue Cappa battlegroup and anchor

Octopath Traveler, finished the chapter 2's of Therion, H'aanit, Alfyn, and Ophilia while also grinding the team afterwards, also got some better weapons and shields. Currently might change their secondary jobs since I'm not sure what exactly I want for them (unlike my other team!).

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy: Started it up earlier tonight, and as of right now I've completely cleaned out Geyser Rock and the Forbidden Jungle of their collectables, and the only things missing from Sandover Village is one of the Oracle's Power Cells (still need 30 more orbs for that one), and Sentinel Beach has 10 measly Precursor Orbs that are being surprisingly good at evading my best attempts to find them. I know they're not the ones under the sentinel, on top of the sentinel, behind the waterfall, near the pelican, or on the platforms with the launch pads, and all of the others were pretty obviously lying around on the beach. I'll probably take another sweep for 'em and then head to Misty Island if I can't find them (or if I do find them, since that's the next stop anyway). If I don't find 'em I'll just set 'em aside for cleanup once I finish up the rest of the game, since I'm sure there'll be more than just those 10 on that list.

I cleared Act 4 of Metal Gear Solid 4. If I thought the fan service was ridiculous before, this part was a good few hours of pure, unfiltered nostalgia-baiting. Aside from a really tense B&B fight that I dragged out for like half an hour, it was quite literally a trip down memory lane. It was stupid and awesome at the same time, especially in the final room where the game hits the gas and doesn’t let up until the last cut-scene ends very suddenly, as if to say, “Enough!”

I also started up Sonic Adventure on PS3 so I can play it for the first time since I was a little boy playing it on GameCube. Not gonna lie, Sonic Adventure is really bad. Like, it’s just not a good game, unless I spin it as being “so bad it’s fun”, like the video game equivalent of Samurai Cop. The voice acting and animation during cut-scenes looks like it’s from a state after-school educational video about stranger danger, Sonic controls like a firework on a string, and some choices honestly baffle me - like having the Spin Dash bound to the same button used to interact with things, so about 10% of my time playing the game last night was spent Spin Dashing away from someone I was trying to talk to or something I was trying to pick up. It’s probably the most mechanically busted “AAA” game I can think of, but I keep playing it because when I was a kid, this game was the height of gaming, nothing could ever top this!

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy: Still never found those last 10 Precursor Orbs on Sentinel Beach, but I have cleaned out everything until Mountain Pass. I'm missing one Power Cell in Mountain Pass, but I need to activate the Eco vent to get to it. I'm missing one Power Cell in Volcanic Crater but cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. Missing some Precursor Orbs in the Spider Caves but, again, Eco vent. I just started on Snowy Mountain, which, apparently, is the place where I can turn on the Yellow Eco vents.

Been playing a lot of RuneScape lately in my quest to get level 99 in all the free to play skills. It's a slow, tedious process that's actually super annoying.
