What video games are you playing now?

Since we beat the final boss in MHGU, there's little left except assorted farming. We took down Soulseer Mizutsune (that leaves just Boltreaver to go) and WOW the Soulseer charge blade looks amazing. Deviant weapons tend to be mostly just palette swaps of their base equivalent, but the shield design on this one looks completely different from the standard Mizutsune charge blade (which I already have quite a few upgrades on).

Oh, and speaking of Deviants in MHGU, we just unlocked Bloodbath Diablos, the "final boss" of Deviants. We did have to beat every other Deviant first -- Rustrazor actually wasn't difficult at all (relative to G rank) once you learned his attacks (though we did need two attempts, we suffered a KO right as he got trapped so we couldn't tranq him, and cats CAN NOT pre-tranq monsters). Boltreaver is just plain insane, and Nightcloak was rightly challenging.

Since my last post I’ve beaten Fallout 3 and Sonic Adventure, had a ton of fun with both of them; the former because something about Bethesda RPGs always grabs me despite the games being filthy with glitches, and the latter because it’s so hilariously bad. Sorry, guys, Sonic Adventure just sucks, but thankfully it’s piss-easy so nothing stood in the way of me seeing the next train wreck of a cutscene. I had fun, and that’s all that matters, right?

Now I’m intermittently playing Grand Theft Auto IV and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, because I was in the mood for basic dudebro games I guess, and I’m totally sucked into Shadow of the Colossus on PS4. Its about time I played this game in some form, right? I’ve killed eight Colossi so far and I’m having a blast. It’s just a great, impressive, immersive, contemplative package all around. Some of the best music I’ve ever heard in a game, too.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, currently unlocking characters before I do the story mode.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia replay, going through Celica's route before the routes split off, Boey is actually doing better in this replay surprisingly. I mean he wasn't always bad for me each time, usable at times but not enough to handle his own without Mae, Celica, or Genny to bail him out sometimes, this time he's really good! Playing a bit more later to see how his stats will fare.

My Hero One's Justice online battles again, been using Izuku Midoriya this time in matches. I've used Dabi too but Shoto is still better for long range. Might try my hand at Kyoka Jiro sometime tomorrow online, she's pretty good, but that doesn't mean I'll blaze the matches though so I've decided to do training mode with her.

Recently started Let's Go Eevee. Aside from it being maybe too easy to level grind, it's quite charming. Oh, but I totally missed the one opportunity to talk to Jesse and James blocking the path in Viridian City. (Well, it's better than the drunk grouchy old man of the originals.)

Night In The Woods (FINALLY found Lori. Turns out I had to go up REALLY high on the roofs. Gonna talk to her all the time)
Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis (Jeez, that glass dragon from that one job took me fifteen minutes to beat! But I've battled more difficult enemies, so it's not a big deal. Plus, more AP for more new moves and stat upgrades!)
Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee

Space Empires V: The refit of Battlefleet Blue (Siege) is taking a little longer than expected. But that's somewhat moot, since I've detached HMS Flamingo, Galatea, and Unicorn to join HMS Thorias. The plan is for the battlegroup, possibly escorted by Battlefleet Blue (Sinister), to make sail for the Iridia system immediately and take Iridia VI by storm. Taking Castor will take a little longer, but I have also got a Condor-class battleship in the yards at Anvard which ought to compensate the siege fleet for lost firepower.

I've decided that Battlefleet Green (Vanguard) isn't going to achieve anything significant in Cribit, so I've had it set a course for the Hesperos warzone. I'm thinking it might be able to take over from Battlefleet Blue in commanding Iridia.

Have been going through World of Light with the goal to wipe the map clean by obtaining all Spirits and Fighters available.

Space Empires V: A bit of logistical difficulty with Operation Goldrush - the resupply depots in Hesperos can't cope with the fleet's demands, so Battlefleet Blue (Siege) is going to have to manually take on supplies at Castor VIII, while the Dexter half of the fleet does the same at Optera. I think the fleet will be ready to attack Castor VII soon, now that the Condor-class battleship built at Pellucida has just arrived. I've decided that the plan for Battlefleet Blue (Siege) immediately after Goldrush will be to warp into Eridani and attack any heavily-defended planets there. Battlefleet Green (Vanguard) is in place to attack Eridani II. The siege drones from neighbouring Radnor have destroyed Eridani I - once the rest have been finished, Eridani IV will be the next target.

All the drones were destroyed in the attempt, but Battlefleet Green (Siege) destroyed Decatur II. Decatur I will be the immediate next target, since I have every reason to believe the two engineering ships will have the fleet ready for action by next turn. The only remaining issue is what to do with Battlefleet Green (Dexter) - it's just as well the fleet is somewhat superfluous right now, because those old MkII Buzzard-class cruisers need a refit, soon

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, got all the fighters via Smash mode and some were pretty hard and unreasonable the first time trying to beat them, though I finally got them all. Also did a bit of World of Light but not too much, mainly getting Spirits through the Spirits Board and Classic Mode mostly. I'm really going for the Fire Emblem spirits the most first, almost got Leif but the second time I challenged Roy he still BTFO'd me, so I'm just waiting for him to appear again. At least I got my Raven and Sigurd spirits, really hoping there's a Seliph, Seth, Joshua, and Soren spirits too but I like most FE characters anyway so I'm not gonna be hurt over it if those characters don't have spirits.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia replay, so I was right that Boey is actually very good this go around. Currently holding his own even after Grieth's Citadel map!

My Hero One's Justice, on online again and been using Kyoka and she is very good. Though I went back to Shoto and Denki not long after, I'll say though that being on the receiving end of a good Kyoka player is scary at times.

53 characters unlocked through World of Light and I plan to keep using that to unlock them, that and being able to obtain Spirits without worrying about losing the battle too much, but those legend spirits are just so hard.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I got a Seliph spirit! I was so happy to see he was one, also happy that I got Deirdre too. Now Sigurd, Dierdre, and Seliph are a happy family that they should be (too bad it wasn't too happy in GotHW though..). Now I gotta get Leif so Seliph's cousin could be part of the family. Anyway also got Roy's father, Eliwood, too and Lilina; also got Minerva, Linde, Lissa, Tharja, Merric, Jagen, Draug, Medeus, Severa, and L'Arachel to go along with my aforementioned and Raven spirits so that's nice, I'd say my FE spirit collection is going well so far. Still hoping that there is a Seth, Joshua, and Soren spirit though! Anyway I did more of the World of Light and changed the player fighter from Kirby to Marth, will complete more of it tonight so we'll see how I'll fare for what's to come.

Managed to save every spirit and fighter in World of Light, I was so confused on why the save file said 73, but then I realized that's how many is there to save and not the total amount as Kirby isn't counted to that total since he's the starter character.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. I've actually been playing it all week -- quite fun. Every time I feel I've gotten completely stuck, it turns out I've overlooked something that should have been obvious -- like using snake form to carry a golden gear to its receptacle when I should have been using frog form instead.
The interplay between different forms is actually quite interesting. Your human form has weapons/armor and magic but no special abilities. Pig form CAN'T equip weapons or armor, but can still use magic (the only other form able to do so), and is essential in finding magic upgrade truffles (it's no coincidence you acquire most magic abilities while in pig form). Snake form doesn't have ANYTHING, but is essential for fitting through small spaces and climbing on mossy walls to solve puzzles. Frog form swims underwater and can use his tongue on various grapple points to make platforming around easier. Lion form can do a mad dash that breaks blocks and runs across water (which is super fun to use) but that's about it, everything else comes from your gear. Dragon form (from what I've seen) has the ability to fly and an unlimited stock of firebreath.

Anyway, that volcano level is BRUTAL. But by now, we're about to face off against the volcano boss who is (to no surprise) a big dragon. He was glimpsed in the preview trailers if I remember correctly. But the funniest boss so far has definitely been "Big Venom" (the boss required to unlock snake form rather early on) -- no spoilers.

Also, this game does get the "Dark Souls of" difficulty formula about right. When you die, certain puzzles/obstacles remain solved for you, and you actually keep the money you've collected. Yes you do restart at the last checkpoint with whatever HP (at least 3 hearts) you had at the time.
