What will happen to Rotomdex?

I would like it if Ash gets a PokéDex who can translate PokéSpeech. Make it a Porygon PokéDex.

I think my other problem with Rotom-Dex is not just how Rotom-Dex always jumps in to explain what other characters could, or how I find that personality to be kinda annoying, but its just that the main cast is already over-saturated. We have Ash, Lillie, Kiawe, Mallow, Lana, Sophocles, as well as Professor Kukui if you want to include him, due to his large presence.

He will remain in Alola, where he belongs. I prefer the non-sentient Pokedexes as well as the times when the main characters could freely discuss information about the Pokemon they encounter without being overshadowed by, well, a Pokemon.

Rotom Dex short circuits and has to be repaired. That's a mediore but passable reason for Rotom to stay in Alola

I suppose they can't go as far down the tragedy route as they did for Citroid as there is actually a living creature inside Rotomdex...

With any luck, unless the Rotom Phone acts as the Pokédex, that it’ll be similar to the PokeNav or Poketch and belong to someone else and seldom come up. Rotomdex was basically tied with Samson Oak as least favorite character in SM. Hated his Allan Detective Rotomdex trait and how much of a know it all he was. Bonus points to the dub for the annoying voice trait he has of raising his pitch whenever he gets excited. If I never saw him again after Alola, it’d still be too soon.

What will happen to him at the end of SM? Will they leave him at Okido's lab with the rest of Satoshi's pokemon? Or leave him in Alola?

My best guess is that Ash is going to leave him behind since soon he is going to the Galar Region. So Rotom is probably going to stay with Prof. Kakui and Prof. Burnet in Alola.

I thought that would be the case for most of SM, but since we have another Rotom Pokedex in Sword/Shield, I'm not so sure about that. It wouldn't be impossible for them to give Ash a new Rotom to be his Pokedex. I just don't know why they'd do that now when it would be easier to just keep the same Rotom. It wouldn't even be a stretch for Rotom to follow Ash to Galar given that it wants to be the best Rotom Dex.
