Actually G/S/C was on the Game Boy *Color* which counts as a separate system
 
Partially correct. Gold and Silver could be played on the Game Boy or the enhanced-version on the Game Boy Color. Crystal was the only one that was Game Boy Color exclusive.
 
Indeed, I used to play Silver on my old large-style monochrome Game Boy.
 
The original Shaymin has been revealed to be henceforth known as "Land Forme" (see here for details). More importantly, Sky Forme has finally been sighted (see here).
