it's exciting to see his battles because you don't know if he will win or lose. Like the battle with Paul. That was epic squared, yo.
You must be kidding!
The fact that Ash will lose, not only that.. he will be demolished... that was very clear before their battle.
Well, even if Ash wouldn't win it will be ok. So far he won the Battle Frontier. And this is more important for him than winning any regional league. Because Brains are more powerful than the trainers who compete in the league. The fact he won it make me respect him as a trainer. As an example remember Reggie. He was very skillful trainer and participated in many leagues but he couldn't beat any Brandon's pokemon. Ash in every single battle against Brandon showed himself as a great trainer especially because Brandon's pokemon were far more powerful than Ash's but he still could match up against them. He is very young and I think he will finally win the league and beat E4 and Champion as well. No doubt for me. As for the rest.. I don't care.
P.S. The only thing I really want is finally to see Ash's journey by himself along with Pikachu without Brock and regular girl. Contest thing is interesting and so on. But something changed for me after Johto. Yep they showed us contests, it was new, it was good. But now.. I don't even interested in them. In Kanto and Johto we saw development Ash as a trainer, as a person. Now.. we don't see it at all. Unfortunately. This crap with Paul ofcourse is interesting. But let's throw out it and we won't see anything. Just some filler episodes after contests and battles like Potchama/Pikachu.. We don't see any relationship between Ash and his pokemon for now. For example writers evolved Chimi and for many episodes they completely forgot about him. No development. Gliscor after evolving is the same and so on.
Now we only see this damn penguin in every single episode which pokes his nose everywhere. And that's it.
