Bulbasaur, sleeping next to an open window, taking in the sunThe Bulbapedia encyclopedia is always growing here at Bulbagarden! All sorts of edits and contributions sprout up every single day thanks to Pokémon enthusiasts from all around the world! Let's take a closer look at our editors' best contributions that have taken root during October 2023.

Every Week We're SHUFFLIN'
The year? 2015. The place? Puerto Blanco. Pokémon Shuffle made its way into our Hearts just 4 short days after Valentine's Day! You may be asking, why are we talking about a side-game from the distant past? Because side-game superstar Boblers spent the months of September and October giving our Shuffle content a complete refresh! Check out new pages for drops and Trainer ranks, refreshed pages describing Mission Cards and Mega Evolution, sortable columns and new trivia on List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number, and a focused look at special stages that separates the original live service period from the final content update on February 2018. Have a good time, put your hands up, and look forward to more Shuffle updates from Boblers coming soon!

Form Over Function
An improvement months in the making: our TAG TEAM of Landfish7, minibug, Oneofthosedf, Boblers and many more have helped with the update to List of Pokémon with form differences! This article was one of the looooongest articles on the encyclopaedia, making it an Ultra Beast of a read, sometimes taking almost 3,000 years! Take this cup of tea and enjoy the fresh look and streamlined content for this article, written with Enamorus's love and a bit of help from Heat Rotom.

An Unexpected Encounter With Mewtwo
“What is that?”

“It’s coming down!”

From the voices around him, the man surmised that something had appeared and directed his gaze toward the clamor. He immediately noticed the shadow descending from the skies and slowly looked up at it.

...What he had felt earlier wasn’t a chill—it was pressure. What had appeared in the skies was Mewtwo.
Our coverage of Illust Story continues! This web-based series of standalone short stories was published on the official Pokémon Card website during the Sword & Shield Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. TCG enthusiast glik has created pages for 3 more stories, so check out An Unexpected Encounter with Mewtwo, A Precious Golden Razz Berry, and No Matter What You Look Like! Stay tuned for more coming soon!

Few are as Dreadful as the Curse of The Vespertine
Yeah, yeah. The Time Page. We've all seen it. But have you seen Eridanus's vespertine Pokémon page? Some Pokémon are vespertine, which means they appear more frequently in the wild during the evening, or do not appear at all unless it is evening. Despite being introduced in Generation IV, only in Generation IX is evening counted separately for the purpose of spawning Pokémon. And it's not just Dusk Form Lycanroc!

But wait, there's more! Before you head out for the night, take a look at matutinal Pokémon, nocturnal Pokémon, and diurnal Pokémon.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!
Braviary-eyed readers may have noticed a change in our cards by species pages over the past month. The TCG team upgraded our tables to include Regulation Marks and Set Symbols to enhance searchability for our card pages. We may only be just over 50% complete, but we hope readers will find this expansion very useful!

Uncover the Anomalies of Area Zero!
Dive into the clouds and explore a land that appears to be unbound by time! With ferocious attacks, Ancient Pokémon like Roaring Moon ex and Sandy Shocks ex appear alongside artificial Future Pokémon like Iron Valiant ex and Iron Hands ex. Meanwhile, Garchomp ex, Mewtwo ex, and others Terastallize to gain new types, as Armarouge ex, Gholdengo ex, and more Pokémon ex join the fray. Adventure awaits as timelines collide in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paradox Rift expansion!
Our TCG team has been busy this past month, with two expansions, Ancient Roar & Future Flash, released in Japan on October 27th and Paradox Rift in English on November 3rd. Two new variants of cards are introduced in this expansion: Ancient and Future, which are available as both Pokémon and Trainer cards. We asked TCG Junior Admin, anzasquiddles, for their favorite standouts, and he elected Ancient Roar's Slither Wing and Future Flash's Iron Moth, featuring a combined illustration from Takeshi Nakamura! Check out their illustrations below!

A Groundbreaking Discovery!
No, I'm not talking about the Cursed Shovel. It's the brand new Pokémon discovery article, written by staff member Daniel Carrero! This page lists all the information Pokémon Connoisseurs need to know about Pokémon discovery from an in-universe perspective. Impress your friends with fun facts like how Koffing was first discovered in a weapons factory, or how Rolycoly was discovered 400 years ago in coal mines!

Love to Cook? You've Come to the Right Place!
Hello, class! It is I, Hassel, yet again. As a reward for all of your hard work, we have a special guest visiting us today! Now then, games specialist FolksCallMeHilbert, please come in!
Before the Six Wonders of Kitakami, before even the Ten Sights of Paldea, we had the Three Ingredients Sellers of Galar!
As the name would imply, they are three Galarian ingredients sellers that are considered particularly beautiful.
Each Ingredients Seller has a pool of ingredients to sell from, and their stock changes daily.
Of course, you may feel that not all ingredients sellers live up to their grandiose stock. How often do we visit some ingredients sellers only to be disappointed?
Not to say that you shouldn't visit them, only that you should keep your hopes in check.
The important thing is to go yourself and see them with your own two eyes.
And sometimes, a disappointing experience can be worthwhile in its own way. Take a chance!
Well, that's it for today,
class. Thank you for your attention!
