Why does Ash get all the fan favorite pokemon now?

...Hey, I'd rather Ash catch popular mons than ones that are basically walking advs even by Pokemon standards (looking at you Poipole).

I do hope we see some oddball, not as popular catches, but with Goh that might be 'covered'.
