Why does Western Media condemn Islamophobia, but not Christianophobia?

The vast majority of Western Media was terribly concerned about the Islamophobic mosque attack in New Zealand (and rightfully so, needless to say).

But, in contrast, when a much bigger anti-Christian terrorist attack occurred in Sri Lanka, against Christians... it was quickly swept under the carpet, with a pretty pathetic "Nothing to see here guys, move on!" attitude.

People like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, both of whom specifically named Muslims, with the New Zealand Mosque attack, didn't do the same for the much bigger Sri Lanka anti-Christian attack. They instead conveniently called it an attack against "Easter Worshippers", refusing to say the Ch-word (Christians). Seriously? Easter Worshippers? Christians worship Christ, not Easter itself, you hypocrites.

This is another example:

This blog is simply meant to expose the double standards and serve as food for thought.

Although I think the reason for said double standards is painfully obvious: the Western Media is largely liberal and most liberals in the Media have a deep, poorly disguised anti-Christian sentiment.

I hope I am wrong and that's not true, but I think it is hard to deny, at this point.

PS: I am still waiting for someone in Western (liberal) Media to use the term Christianophobia just once. Seriously, guys. Just once. At least try to disguise your biases. You are supposed to be impartial journalists, for crying out loud.

Because in developing nations with long-running ethnic and religious conflict, like Sri Lanka, we expect things like the church bombings to happen. It's a bigger deal when there's an attack on a place of worship in a first-world "Western" nation because those things aren't supposed to happen here. It doesn't make what happened in Sri Lanka any less tragic, but that's just how we're wired.

Also, people are making too big a deal out of the "Easter worshippers" thing. Obama and Hillary are both devout Christians, so there's definitely nothing sinister going on there.

Hope that helps :)

That's not true, though. There have been countless burned and vandalized Churches in France in the last few years. Still not a single mention of Christianophobia. This alone makes your argument fall apart. Even when it happens in the Western World, a Mosque under attack gets A LOT more attention than a Church under attack. When it's a Mosque, the left shouts Islamophobia. When it's a Church, the left says it's an attack against "humanity". They never ever call it Christianophobia.

You've already had this discussion closed, please do not make another thread. Religion is very important to many people's identity, so criticizing specific religions and associating them with terror can be taken very personally by those people and can potentially propagate negative stereotypes
