Will SM have a low number of major battles?

The games have enough content for the anime to run 3 years. But that content doesn't contain that many battles like the previous games.

The anime can always add more battles. Having Ash battle the Trial Captains would seem pretty likely, especially when that could provide some interesting conflict or interactions given that quite a few of them are his classmates/traveling companions. It's not like the anime hasn't added more significant events than what the games have or expanded on what is in the games before.

Since the games have a pokemon league, I guess the anime would still have those types of leagues that we saw in previous regions.

Battling the four of them would be fun to see. Being friends with and traveling with someone he needed to battle eventually worked out pretty well with Clemont, so it would be interesting to see how things would work with Mallow, Lana, Kiawe, and Sophocles.

I think he'd have a good chance as long as they don't start a trend of rivals with invincible Charizards.

I wouldn't be so sure. Kiawe's turtonator looked pretty strong. Also, along with his charizard, isn't he supposed to have an alolan marowak?

He probably would right now and it would make for a good rematch. Kiawe does seem to be the strongest of the class.

Also, another question. Will the sun&moon anime show all the z-moves? Or will it just show a select few

Cause in X&Y they didn't show all the mega evolutions.

All though to do that they will have to have one in all the battles

XY's main issue was that it shoved all of its Mega Evolution focus into a series of specials, which obviously wasn't nearly enough to showcase all of the Mega Evolutions, whereas SM itself will be showcasing the Z-moves.

100+ episodes is more than enough to showcase all of the Z-moves.

Also, there are more Mega Evos than there are Z-moves, so there's that as well.

I could see Salazzale, Turtonator and Alolan Marowak but later in a trial.
Charizard would be to overused in a trial, maybe in a rematch but later with a mega Charizard Y?
Imagine they will fight Ultra Beasts?

grand trials, trial captains and a league, there is plenty to start with.
Plus 8 trial captain can appear like in the past the 8 gym leader.
