Pikachu, you can't evolve, so its pretty much useless. I also don't like Snivy. Sorry fanboys, but I don't like its design, plus it seems like a Treecko copy. Tepigs evolutions were also a let-down to me, I was also hoping there would be a different type combination. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who likes Chikorita and its evolutions though.

i have a chikarita on soulsilver and it has evolved into a meganium. all of its attacks are like light screen and stuff and the only decent moves it can learn are solar beam(it takes a turn to charge up)frenzy plant( you should probably think of the next pokemon to send out because it is practicly dead) body slam(over grow has no effect) and petal dance(confusion after a phew turns). but i still think that a well trained meganium could easily beat pikachu or a raichu. so in conclusion i still think pikachu is the worst starter and ash should of woken up earlier for a better pokemon like charmander or squrtle. they would of helped so much more! that way he could start off with a charmander, catch a squrtle and evolve the pikachu because he wont feel such a big bond.

Chikorita was awful, But then again most of the second generations starters were bad.

I'd have to say Pikachu
I vastly prefer Raichu, and not being able to evolve it sucks...
Plus, it's just at suuuch a disadvantage for so many of the first gyms, and there's not much you can do about it.
I just never liked pikachu much

I gotta say that I was fond of chikorita, though
it's amazingly annoying to fight a meganium in Battle Factory.

Movepool-wise, Chikorita and Serperior. Design-wise, Oshawott.

Exactumundo. I only ever choose these blots to add more to the challenge of the game. About the best they can do is stall and/or Toxic whoever you're fighting, and should the opponent be a Steel type, even that is useless as dick.

I'd have to go with Turtwig honestly. It's a cute Pokemon, but I can't battle well with it or its evolutions. It does have great defense though.
