Yes obviously. But I'd love to see a lot of other characters return as well. All the older characters deserve guest appearances. Misty is definitely one of them but not the only one.

Anyways, since this thread is about Misty, I'll make a list of what I'd love to see in a possible cameo:-
-New character design/outfit/hairstyle etc. I like her side-ponytail, but I think she would look cute in other hairstyles as well. And I am not a fan of her AG outfit so yeah, I'd like to see a new outfit.
-Mega Gyarados!!! This one is a must.
-Battle wise, I would actually love a battle between Misty and Clemont. It would be great to see her win despite the type-disadvantage.
-Also, Misty giving Clemont some encouraging advice would be a good idea. She must have became an experienced gym leader by now so she would be able to give some good tips to Clemont, that way we will also find out how much she has improved.
-They can show that her Azurill evolved into Marill, or give her a new Pokemon like Clauncher.
-Misty meeting Siebold, or even battling him to gain more experience.
-Love triangle!!! Okay, so I like Amourshipping more, but Misty and Serena both crushing on Ash at the same time would drive the audience crazy. It would definitely bring in more viewers.

I think it'd be nice to see her return. I've always enjoyed the companions and get really sad once they all depart... not so much Iris and Cilan, but I felt some sense of emptiness! I really would love to see May though! She's what made me wish I was a coordinator if Pokemon would hurry up and join us outside the virtual world

Of course as well as a lot of other characters. I don't even think its all that unlikely for her to appear in 2017 (20th anniversary of anime). At the least she could want to visit to watch Ash compete in Kalos league, but it would be better for her to do something. One idea is that Azure Bay hasn't been in the Anime yet and maybe Misty would want to visit there because it is a beautiful area for water Pokemon. I agree with above that it would be cool for her to Mega her Gyardos, but this isn't too likely considering how rare Mega E is in Anime I doubt Misty would be one to get it.

The only reason I wouldn't want her to come back is that I would be worried that they would change her personality too much. This is because everything about Ash in the show now is overwhelmingly positive and Misty's teasing/arguing with Ash (as awesome as it was) seems to be something the writers don't allow anymore post Iris. It would really bother me if she returned and was super nice to Ash like Serena is. On the other hand, maybe she could teach Serena how to act towards Ash instead of being super positive all the time.

PS: I got through that whole post without saying I would rather have May back...

Edit: Gabo's idea is actually a good way to give her a cameo again. I'd love to just see her on screen, watching Ash compete in the Kalos League.

No. She doesn't need to appear because I'm pretty sure a majority of viewers wouldn't actually know her apart from the last BW episode. We haven't seen Kasumi in over a decade -- however, if we get to have her VA on, I'm in.

Who needs Misty when you can have Takeshi? I miss him and his jelly-filled donuts.

As a veteran member of the Misty Fanclub, I'll say yes! I haven't seen the anime in God-knows how long, but I do remember her and Ash's relationship being underdeveloped, although something was clearly there.

As far as the manga is concerned, PokeSupe is the only one still running (if I'm not mistaken) and they could easily have her show up whenever, which I think would be neat also (although the current story-lines really have nothing to do with any Gen I material). But, I remember the Gen V games allowed you to battle trainers form the past-gens, and that'd be something neat to incorporate into the manga (even if it is GEN VI now)

I would most certainly like to see her return. Maybe they could also use it as an opportunity to flesh out her backstory some more and further develop the relationship between her and Ash. For starters, they could have her be much nicer to him than before and they could possibly even greet and depart with at least a hug (if they would allow it).

ABSOLUTELY!

Not just that, i wouldn't even mind seeing Misty return for more than just appearance, such as for at least one more season at very least. But I would settle for some arc featuring her return lasting for around 10 to 15 episodes(my personal unrealistic wish).

Because she never received closure to story, her dreams of becoming water master and reach level of strength her idol E4 Lorelei posess were left unresolved along with lot of untapped potential to do more with her personality, inner struggles and career development. Knowing she has potential to deliver engaging story and something alternative to what we seen from May, Dawn or Serena as female companion worth following if just given chance and proper attention.

And i miss her character. All those crazy moody antics, sweet optimistic nature, funny sarcastic remarks, hotheaded and tough attitude not letting others to subject her and lot of passionate and emotional side to her personality mixed with more mature, outgoing behavior in this day and age nicely rounding things up. Misty has such a rich personality.

Being curious to see in what new directions her story could go, to see ber interact with Ash again reviving that signature flare and dynamic between them and how she would mesh with Serena, Clemont and Bonnie in current series. Or how much she changed.

Since talk is about Kalos there exists so many eventful scenarios to justify Misty traveling in land based on romance, rustic architecture and plethora of new pokemon. I recall mentioning it somewhere, but ill be more elaborative with my ideas this time.
Potential reasons:
A): For once there is E4 Siebold who is first E4 member specializing in water pokemon being considered water master in games . This is something very important worth to take in account.

Because while there is often talked about Drasna being plausible trainer for Iris to meet and learn more about way of becoming dragon master, E4 Siebold is just like Drasna type expert. And none the less but water specialist from who Misty could've learn ALOT in achieving her dreams of becoming strongest water trainer in world entering maybe tournament for water trainers organized by him or becoming even apprentice in training if leaving positive impression. Serving as gateway toward becoming water pokemon master in future.

B): Misty has pokemon capable of mega evolving(Gyarados)opening a whole new storyline for her to follow and way to advance skills.

Even from personality aspect there exists reasons. Such as Misty fondness of France liking romance, flowers with Kalos being based on it or all those cute or unique water pokemon she would like to catch.
Such as Skrelp, Binnacle or especially Clauncher who would make for great addition to her team.

C): Whole mysterious transformation of Ash Greninja is surely something which would interest aspiring water master like Misty as well being mandatory to learn how to connect with water pokemon on closer level in order to unlock their true potential, (even though that ship has kinda sailed away but still just by witnessing to this phenomena would help her in better understanding bonds with her own pokemon).

D): Than there is whole Serena thing and her crush on Ash making some fans believe how her presence could be of help in developing both characters due to having this in common(i mean i dont care much for such things, but its something worth mentioning too).

But yes as far as reasons go, there definitely exists several plausible ways through which I would like and welcome Misty return after more than full decade of absence.

Not to mention new generations of kids aside from knowing Ash and most probably Brock deserve to know who is first pokemon girl and third part of main cast who started everything too.

Why not? Misty's whole appearance at the end of OS was felt a little bit cliffhanger and it's also a great to start 20th celebration of Pokemon, whether it's for anime or games, because it can make the atmosphere gone more colorful.

No, she had her time during AG and BF.
As long as they can avoid making him collect the same kind of dust he gathered during most of DP, I'd prefer to see Brock. He'd be just as much a 20th anniversary thing as Misty could be.

Absolutely not. I love Misty so much and I miss her as much as anyone does, but Ash's character has changed so drastically that it wouldn't be anything like their old friendship. Ash's sarcasm and goofiness departed from him around the time the voice actors changed - admittedly, that came back a bit in BW with Iris, but most certainly not in XY. They'd have to bring in a new voice actor for Misty as well, because she hasn't appeared since AG and 4Kids isn't dubbing the anime anymore. The time of the original trio of Ash, Misty, and Brock is long gone.

That said, I'd be okay with Ash and Misty briefly seeing each other when Ash returns to Kanto at the end of XY. But I really don't think it would work if they brought her in as a major part of the plot for upcoming episode(s) in the show.
