Re: Star Wars.

The entirety of last Jedi in one word: WHAT!!!!!!!

Uuuuggggghh.... I should be working on fanfic.... Not hanging out here. Stupid forums.

Now that I'm nearly to the part I want to write...I've got nothin'. What I had planned isn't long enough to fill my word quota (roughly 6000 words), so I need to figure out a few more things to delay what will be the climax for the first third of the story. Come to think of it...I could...nah, nevermind. I have to tie everything up nicely; what I have now won't build up properly.

Also, boo! Boo! Bad geometry puns! Just reminds me of sophomore year when I had that in my state-issued final...when I learned everything the previous year.

Suffice to say, I was surprised I managed to be 'average' in that test. Guess I got a taste of how it is to be an average student.

You've got to wonder how some Amazon sellers get such good ratings. I ordered two boxes of twenty black biros (Clicky-tops to use at work, since I'm not going to lose all my Bic Cristal Originals there) last week. Three working days late to arrive, no contact from the seller, and when they do turn up I get ... ten blisters of eight pens, assorted colours

I think that online retail being such a crapshoot is probably the only thing preventing it from completely taking over brick & mortar stores - well, that and the shipping time. If we could completely guarantee that everything we bought online was exactly as advertised and would arrive in a timely fashion, I would see no need for physical stores - except perhaps with clothing, which it is nice to try on even if you know your size. As it is, you kind of have to gamble every time you buy something online, which is an unacceptable risk for a lot of people. Otherwise I'd be incredibly happy to just buy almost everything online.

I've come to suspect that a lot of the buzz about online retail has been generated by online retailers. I was discussing this with my brother over Christmas - the mall this year was just as full as ever, and with as many young people (The demographic that's supposed to be spurning old analogue ways of doing things) as any other.

Sure, perhaps physical stores aren't going out quite that fast - because these are for the most part multi-billion dollar corporations who are fighting tooth and nail to preserve their comfortable way of life - but I think a streamlined, efficient online shopping option would go a long way towards effecting a transition. The first major retailers to truly embrace online and virtual shopping will get major kudos as well, hopefully starting a domino effect that changes the whole industry. I for one can't wait for the science-fiction future where I do all my shopping on a tablet or holoprojector and things get delivered to my house by drone.

But yes, I was out at the mall doing my Christmas shopping with everyone else - mostly because shipping costs in and to New Zealand are still atrociously disgusting.

I sometimes wonder how the costs of shipping products into store vs shipping individual orders compares. Those kind of logistics tend to be hidden from the average consumer - and, frankly, most people don't think about them either. I suppose it's fair to say that you don't find many small independent stores around now, especially those that sell specialist products. Every now and again I see a would-be quirky store pop up in Stourbridge, and they never last long.

For me the biggest issue with online shopping is that if it doesn't fit in my letterbox then there's a good chance I'm going to have to be in to take the delivery. I've seen some retailers offer delivery slots, but the bald fact is that will always be more a expensive option. I've also found that complaints, returns and queries are always easier to do in-store (Even accounting for the obtusity of some retail staff).

Amazon is the Disney of online retail. Not that online retail is actually that big considering how new it actually is.

I had a weird shipping thing happen after Black Friday. I ordered four shirts from an American site, three were sent direct to NZ while one was sent off on it's own to Germany. The other three arrived the week before Christmas, but the via Germany shirt didn't get here until last week. It was very odd. I am not sure how that is productive in any way. I guess maybe the fourth shirt came from a different branch or something, but what company uses two different delivery companies, and why would a shirt need to go to Germany first? Wouldn't that be a huge waste of money!

They probably just wanted it to get some worldly experience before it made it to you. I'm still waiting for some D&D dice I ordered from aliexpress a couple months ago. Actually, that reminds me I should open a dispute. I want my $1.83 back, dammit.

That reminds me of the Duke Nukem 3D action figures I once bought on eBay. Took six months to arrive by boat from Canada to the Netherlands. At least those arrived, more than one item "got lost in the mail" or arrived damaged thanks to incompetent sellers.

This is rediculous. I started trying to write a Pokemon fanfic but now I'm writing a my little pony fanfic that isn't even related to Pokemon.

Note to self = Try not making a total ass out of yourself when writing posts.
And this Mitac keyboard would have type fine if it weren't for that obnoxiously small delete key. At least my pinkey can't possibly miss the huge Enter-key. And those blue Cherry MX switches are nice.

visited that dead bunny from all those weeks ago. still there and frozen into a popsicle now. i guess that makes it a subfossil?

sigh, i'm in dire need of therapy but my school days are so long and i'm so tired. i really don't want to skip lessons as they feel important to me and any time i try to skip one and study on my own i still feel massive guilt. but if i don't get help, my grades will very likely go down and so will my mood. and i don't want to find out what going beyond this point feels like.

I tried combining Minish Village (transposed to Bb Major), Ezlo's Past (both from The Minish Cap), and Within the Sadness (from Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon). It sounded horribly off-key, so I'm going to try it again tomorrow, sans Minish Village.
