Review XY115: Serena Becomes Satoshi! The Strongest Pikachu Showdown!!

I thought this was an exiting episode, it had some of the best writing i have seen in quite a while and it was nice to see Serena give it her best in batteling Jimmy.

Dunno if this has been mentioned before, but it seems the only reason Serena decides to battle Jimmy dressed as Ash was because she ASSUMED Jimmy won't take the fact that Ash is sick for an answer. Taking care of Ash would have been much more productive than battling somebody else. She could have actually TRIED telling Jimmy Ash had a cold. Ash could have also waken up from all that noise and asked for Serena to battle in his place. Sloppy writing.
That being said, this was still a fun episode minus the easily fixable sloppy part and filler episodes should be like this.

I get the whole pushing AmourShipping thing that the writers have at this point dropped all subtlety about, but the scene where Ash collapses onto Serena is definitely overdone in my opinion. I'll have to wait until I see it with subs or in English to really understand exactly what they were saying, but I think it was pretty easy to infer. I don't mind Serena having a crush on Ash, but at times like this it can get obnoxious.

Based on what I've heard, Serena assumes that Satoshi was going to say "Ai Shite Iru" (which means "I love you") before he finishes the sentence "Aian Teiru, Pikachu..." ("Iron Tail, Pikachu..."). And it apparently became a trend on Tumblr by the way.
