Unpopular opinion but Professor Turo is probably the most boring and unattractive looking professor so far. Also, he looks too much like Rose but a bland clone of Rose.

I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to voice acting but the more I think about it the weirder it sounds. I love a lot of games with voice acting but I feel like some of the dialogue in Pokémon just would not work if it was spoken aloud by a real human being

The way I see it, no voice acting was fine back in the days of sprites and even the 3DS games.

But the more GF leans into having actual cutscenes, the more dissonant it is for me to not have people speaking their lines. There's a reason why people point to the Piers scene in SW/SH where he creates a distraction to allow you to slip past the Evil Team by doing an impromptu rock concert in the street that draws a crowd...and aside from the background music, the scene is totally silent - no singing, no audience cheering him on, nothing and it is as jarring as all get out.

The most hilarious thing about Turo for me is when people are like 'How can't you like him, he looks like a Gigachad!' and I can't even comprehend how that meme Gigachad guy is considered attractive in first place. I think that the joke is that he’s all conventionally attractive male attributes turned up to 500, and that the result is incredibly uncanny and creepy. But what do I know about the minds of strange Internet people

I have to agree with those above me, voice acting is quite simply a demand too far. I already find it jarring in other games with custom character names whenever they just call your character "the hero" or something along this line. It'd take me out of the immersion and I can't approve of that.

Voice acting and custom character names don't mix, and I know which one I'd prefer to keep around...

Pokemon should just go full on final fantasy with cross promotions and product placement. It's not as classy as FF, so no stars of lucis, but maybe more ubiquitous brands. I for one would like to see some Coleman's in the camp feature.

I don’t know how controversial this would be, but I feel like the Elite Four don’t need to be tied down to being Type specialists anymore. They’re not the same as the Gym Leaders who are meant to serve as gatekeepers, they should be a bit more challenging.

Thus, considering the sheer size of the Pokémon roster these days, I would be interested in seeing them have teams based around themes instead of Types. For example, one could have a reptile based team with all sorts of different ‘mons like Arbok, Feraligator, Kekleon and Tyrantrum to name a few.

Being popular is a really stupid and ridiculous reason to hate a pokemon.

Another thing I'd like to add is that its especially stupid when its a mascot pokemon. Like.... its literally the mascot. Of course it'll get more attention than some random gen 5 mon.

As for some more unpopular opinions:

Garbodor is genuinely a terrible pokemon. I know it was hated when gen 5 released, but nowadays, I swear 90% of pokemon fans consider it overhated and like it, and I barely even see anyone hate it. It's mostly just praise for it. I'd honestly say it's overrated. Yeah, its unique and clever, but its still an ugly pokemon whos literally garbage. It's still bad imo. Though for what its worth, I'd still say its not one of the worst pokemon from gen 5, let alone the whole series. I have no idea why the klink line never got the same hate that vanillish and garbodor got even though its so much worse.

In general, I feel like some pokemon end up becoming popular for literally no reason other than the fact that its either hated or forgotten. Dunsparce is another example. I see tons of people loving it (it even made top 75 in a favorite pokemon poll) even though its an obscure pokemon with an ok at best design with no evolutions or anything special (it doesn't even have a cool type, it's just a normal type), or anything that would give it a lot of attention, and I feel like the main thing Dunsparce fans say about it is how its underrated and it deserves better. I kinda get the feeling most people just love it because it gets little attention from gamefreak and deserves more.

Finally, a pokemon being a simple concept isn't a bad thing imo. Something doesn't need to be complex to be good; it can be simple and still be good. IMO, some unique and heavily designed pokemon, such as the ultra beasts, just look awful, and some simple pokemon, such as Dewgong, are cool pokemon. Animals are commonly cute and/or cool, so even just slightly changing one's appearance and giving it a typing can make a cool pokemon that doesn't just seem like its an animal and feels like a pokemon. That being said though, this does not apply to just taking an object, giving it eyes and maybe a mouth, and calling it a pokemon. Animals are commonly cute and/or cool to begin with, and are actual living beings. Objects aren't any of those things. A pokemon being a simple object is not the same thing at all. Pokemon like Klink are just awful.

• Gen 1 is my least favorite gen. It wasn't very good.
• X & Y was good.
• I don't care whether or not Charizard is in a lot of games, and I like that it got two Megas and a Gigantamax form. (I actually don't know how controversial that opinion is, but I know someone IRL who hated that Charizard got all that treatment).
• Scarlet & Violet being open world worries me a bit. I don't know how much I'll like a change like that.
• The battles that are famed for being "incredibly hard" (i.e. Cynthia, Ultra Necrozma) have always been easy for me.
• Sinnoh was meh.
• I hope Sprigatito's evolution is bipedal. I like bipedal starters. Yes, I am a furry.

I always think X & Y versions are under-appreciated. There has always been something missing in those games, that is true, but I believe drop of the planned third version has made these issues remain for good. (The fact that Zygarde's various formes being introduced in S&M, one generation later, is one of the strongest implications, of many.)

When you compare it to Sun & Moon games, for example, there was basically no trial for Mina simply because the team did not have time to finish it. But Sun & Moon got the upper versions to make up for it and add more content in the end. We also had the fourth generation games' release postponed because the team was still working on these games, which GF nowadays would never do such. X & Y did get neither of those chances, sadly.

I am not surprised by this considering how many problems and glitches/bugs the Gen 1 games had.

-Cubone is a charmander that has some sort of disease
-Dynamax/Gigantamax is the second best gimmick, first is megas
-Galar is a good region
-The Sword/Shield and Legends: Arceus graphics are fine, and you need to stop harrassing Gamefreak over the animations. There are 600+ mon in sw/sh (including dlc), that would take way too long to do.

I think HeartGold/SoulSilver versions have the best sprites for Pokémon in general. Diamond/Pearl versions generally show rather generic poses, while Platinum version's poses are often in uncomfortable positions for the Pokémon.

Black/White and sequels' all-time-moving sprites are really a nice touch, but pixelited appearances bug me more so than most others.

We need a pokemon game that deconstructs the dark, gritty, edgy fandom narrative and show just how silly it really is.

Also, we need to return to the OG red and blue timeline and somehow put an end to it, whether that be through literally destroying it or just telling the last story that needs to be told in it.

Also, we need regional variants of wooloo and mareep for every region going forward.

Stuff like the coma theory. An example (anime specific) would be to have Ash wake up from a coma, search the hospital for Pikachu, have a bit of a freak out, and the just show Pikachu waking up from a similar coma at the Pokemon hospital.
