In my case, she was the second (or first) most troublesome champion to defeat.

Steven. He’s fairly challenging, has a pretty balanced team, Mega Metagross, and a dope outfit. What’s not to like?

I'm not a particular fan, but she was the first female Champion, which is nice to see; she has what I like to jokingly call a "luxe goth" design that is going to read as pretty cool to a lot of people, and she's relatively tough in battle - especially if you're like 8 years old (so consequently there's also nostalgic value waiting to bloom), but even if you're older and more versed at the game when you first encounter her, it's still possible for her to cause trouble for you because her team is pretty well-composed anyway.

The DP Elite Four in particular are quite weak (I mean.... Beautifly?) so Cynthia's non-awful team stands out in the memory like a sore thumb.

Really hard to decide between Cynthia (good challenge for a final boss and checks to see how well you know your own team and such) or Iris (her champion theme just sounds so upbeat, I liked it a lot when I first heard it.)

Alder is my favorite one but it's weird because it didn't start out that way. I liked Steven more at first but now my opinion has changed and I like Alder's wild hair style.

Iris. She starts as a Gym Leader and just 2 years later is Champion. That must mean that she is very impressive, strong and cunning battler. Her Champion room looks eccentric and unique. Her team is also tough to defeat if you're not prepared.

It's sure as hell not Alder, because he couldn't even beat that FREAK WITHOUT A HUMAN HEART!

I feel like it'd be better if we actually saw this, though.
