Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

Don't get me started on competitive smash
When the CREATOR OF THE FUCKONG FRANCHISE TELLS YOU NOT TO PLAY IT THAT WAY you should listen to him
Skaurai always wanted a casual smash and regrets making melee
Yeah no, I disagree. Seems hypocritical of you to tell others how to play a game considering the post you just quoted.

I like Sonic '06. And not because it's nostalgic. I'd never played the game, and hunted it down about a year ago because of its reputation as a glitchy mess. I played the game and legitimately enjoyed it. It's nowhere near as bad as people say it is. Yes a few bugs made a few sections harder than they needed to be (I'm lookin' at you mach speed sections), but I never encountered any of the game breaking bugs people rant about. Never once did I get spat out of a shuttle loop into the abyss because I didn't enter "at that pixel perfect angle".
And... I liked the plot, especially in relation to Shadow and Silver's character developments. Cut out Elise (THAT was a horrible idea), and I can't see anything wrong with the plot.

Hey this is unpopular gaming opinions
That is my opinion
This is only based on those "play my way or die" people that yes I realize I sounded like one, but its not the way the game was designed.
Do they know ZeRo and Mew2King play casual from time to time when they are the best in competitive?

Paper Mario TTYD chapter 3 is overrated, seriously Grubba's conditions are a waste of time that drag out the battles for no purpose, though its still better than chapter 4.

Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time is enjoyable. The Bros. items are fun to use.

Metal gear rising did capture the MGS charm.

DLC is nessecary for some games like rock band and mario kart, as so long as it isn't postgame story a la fallout.

Kingdom hearts has yet to make a game that didn't impress me including coded.

The pokemon designs in gens V and VI do look like pokemon and they are not running out of ideas.

Motion controls are not cringeworthy, they are a good idea

Portrait of Ruin is the best Metroidvania after SOTN, if not equal to it. Buttpn comvos are back, platforming involves a lot vertical areas, and the quest system gives backtracking a whole new meaning. Oh and, the soundtrack is the best amongst yhen.

While Bethesda has made a few commendable titles for it's time, may I just say one little thing?

WHAT IS UP with their 3D models? Everyone looks like they've been dipped in slug guts. I haven't seen anything that slimy since I blew my nose when I had tonsillitis. Not a pretty sight. Anyway, I get that the lighting is pretty hard to work with, but still, people need to realize that to make a visually gorgeous game, they need to work within their consoles means. If they just polished them up a little, maybe got a better hair texture, dried their slug-skin with a towel, then that'd look just dandy.
I prefer graphics like Skylanders, or Super Smash Bros: colourful, vibrant and pretty timeless. And while I'm not condemning all titles aiming for realistic graphics (some pull it off so well!) all I'm saying is prepare to be outdated within the next 24 hours. Blech.

Okay, make that two little things:

Their mechanics. Does jagged, slowpaced and utterly sickening spring to mind?

Person 1: "Haughhhhghghghgh!" *swings dagger like a sledgehammer"
Person 2: "You'll never defeat me, Elfen Scum!!" *swings sword like it weighs 20 tonnes*

And about twenty minutes later, with a sickening spray of blood, they collapse to the ground crying "Uwaghghghg!" before you loot their sorry ass for a piece of gold and some crappy leather gauntlets. The end.

I found Ico to be nothing more than a tedious escort mission, with dull puzzles. I pushed myself to play through it to the end just so that I could say I did. The ending did not change my view on it or really "move" me all that much.

I just don't see it as an example of video game art like many others seem to, unlike some other video games I've experienced. But maybe that's just me...

While I still don't like that they changed to sidequests in Bravely Second so they had more positive endings, I can totally see why they did it after learning a lot of players in Japan complained about the original version. You know, like how everyone got pissed off about Mass Effect 3's ending.

One common complaint I'll hear about Sonic the Hedgehog (the first game in the series):

"Marble Zone is too hard! I hate this level! It shouldn't be the second zone!"

Okay, I can understand games at this time were not easy, but Marble Zone isn't that hard. Of all the levels in the game, this one actually fits as level 2. Yes, it can take a little getting used to considering the fact that it's not as fast paced as Green Hill Zone, but if you have played the rest of the game, it doesn't get any easier. I personally thought Spring Yard and Labyrinth Zone were harder, and the latter was supposed to be the second zone with Marble being the third in the original order Sonic Team intended!

If you thought Marble Zone was hard, wait til you play Sonic 2 and get to Wing Fortress Zone, or Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Sandopolis Act 2! You'll wish they were Marble Zone.

I find this funny because Wing Fortress and Sandopolis were rather easy in my opinion (well once you find the way to skip the rail jumping section in Wing Fortress), as is Marble (The last time Marble was the end of my Sonic 1 was when I was ten). Do the people who complain about Marble even know what Labyrinth Zone IS? Or Starlight? Or Scrap Brain? Or Metropolis? Carnival Night, now THAT was hell. The barrel... That motherf*cking BARREL!!
