Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion
We also now have Hihidaruma which is ape-like.
It is important to note that monkeys and apes are not the same. Besides diet, forms of locomotion, social groupings, skull shape, dentition, size, and regional locations, a big thing that any joe can...
Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion
So I really like these new pokemon. It kind of sucks that I can't have an advantage at the first gym, but I will welcome the challenge nevertheless. I like Bao/Yan, but Hiyappu confuses me. I agree with another previous poster, I would like to be able to...
I think that is a misguided statement you just said. Africa also has forests, and lakes, and rivers, and it has air. Even though she is named after a plant which comes from a certain place doesn't make any facts, especially when you have ignored the other details of your own logistics...
Re: Confirmed New Pokemon Discussion
So what is that yellow thing behind Mr. Tanuki's head? Is it a flower? Is he somehow grass? (I like his x-belly button)
I think Basurao is a piranha. He looks like he has a big bottom jaw like they do. And while it is difficult to tell, he also may...
Well, my understanding is that all gym leaders' names have a reference to their type, even if some are stretches or obscure in their reference. So, yeah, I would say that you missed some.
The one that took me the longest to get was Tate and Liza.
If I knew what Dento's English name was...
Re: Leaked image from Black and White tour reveals new Pokémon: Emonga, Gigaiasu, Zor
It's official. I may just wet myself with anticipation for this generation.
There are so many adorable little pokemon and it makes me grin. I mean, Hihidaruma scares me a bit, but Darumakka, which I feel...
Re: English Pokémon names
How about Razorblast? It is Razorback, you know a wild boar, and Blast, you know fire/explosions. Maybe this wouldn't be very good for Pokabu, but one of his evolutions, assuming it will be more boar like and less domesticated piggy.
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
Pokemon are often based off of real world creatures. The world is mostly covered in water. Thus, it is not unusual that there are A LOT of fish and water type pokemon. Furthermore, insects and creepy crawlies also have vast amounts of species and numerous...
Re: The villian team.
Hey, so... I didn't go through about the seventy pages of discussion on team Plasma, but I wanted to see if anyone else felt the same as me when I saw them.
With the giant x's on the costumes, I immediately was reminded of Shugo Chara and the x eggs and x characters...
I am glad to see this article. I think it is important to recognize that some characters and pokemon get misconstrued when distributed to different cultures that have different perceptions. Especially since we have new characters which there is no ambiguity about their ethnicity.
I know...
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
You know, I am a westerner, but I don't feel it is necessary to create connections or assumptions on one little detail. We don't know what land was used as a model for Isshu. But even if it was NYC, then why the heck would they take some insignificant European...
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
Listen, there is one children story which describes an ugly duckling getting picked on by all the other ducklings and then turning into a beautiful swan just to show them up. One story.
However, there are far more stories of humans transforming into swans or...
Maybe it is just me, but I like her. I have heard a lot of absurd names for black kiddos. So to hear something like Aloe actually feels a bit mundane in comparison. Besides, this is pokemon world, and combined with the green hair gives her the feel of a Gym Leader, possibly Grass.
She...
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
You know, if Shiki does change its appearance with season (or has different looking evolutions based on which season you evolve him in, whichever it is). Then I think it is likely that antlers will be a big part of the appearance differences. Deers will grow and...
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
I love Miruhoggo! Look at that cute little meerkat standing in his fight or flight stance. I wonder what his type will be. Meerkats spend a lot of time in the ground, so he could be ground type, but because he is probably one of the early route pokemon I think that...
Re: English Pokémon names
I wouldn't call that stupid, that isn't particularly nice. However, the chances of Pokabu having a name with a pun on the oink is unlikely to me. We already have a pig pokemon with an oink in its name, Spoink.
I enjoy having a base, mostly because I like collecting items and being able to display. I didn't like going into the underground. I thought it was a bit of the hassle.
So, if I could have one in B/W I would like it to be above ground.
And I want it to be a bigger space.
And I want...
I wouldn't mind if there were either two different endings, or two different story lines with similar endings. As long as it is not a matter of good and evil, but something of a more cyclical nature.
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
Well, I thought it was the building next to the large red bridge which is off to the left of what appears to be an amusement park. It looks like it is sitting on its personal island.
Do you agree for the same reasons or do you think it is this typing because of...
Re: New Pokemon Discussion
Well, geographically, it does bear some immediate resemblance. The lighthouses are even placed in similar locations to each other.
