Totally agreed. A colder climate with more snow, mountains, tundra, taiga, snowy forests, blah blah etc. would be awesome after the tropical Alola in Gen VII. Being located around Norway, Sweden, and/or Finland would be really nice. More Ice type Pokemon; coats, scarves, suits, jackets, boots...

I really like this idea. Heart versus Mind. Logic versus Emotions. I would love to see that really fleshed out and even somehow represented in the rivalry between the legendary mascots. Even more fleshed out than Truth versus Ideals in BW, which I though fell a little flat.

I wouldn't mind a UK based region for Gen VIII. Splitting up the entire region into 4 parts would be nice, too. Especially if they're much bigger than Alola's islands. Regional Dex should be at least/around 400.

Depends on perspective. They can adjust the size of the region however they like. They made the city of New York into a whole region, whereas entire cities in Japan were merely a small fraction of a region. They could always take those areas, zoom out a bit, and superimpose their region.

Great Britain (I think all of it at once could work perfectly well!) amd Northern Europe/Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Finland) are probably my top two picks. A somewhat colder region would be a nice shift after Alola. Or at least the mild/temperate climate of Great Britain.
