It was refreshing to see Team Rocket working on a plot that didn't involve stealing Pokémon.

This episode, despite being filler, apparently ties into the next one, because from what I can understand without subtitles is that at least part of the prize was a trip to Unova, where Ash and Goh will travel to in the next episode.

Overall, I thought this was a perfectly enjoyable filler episode. Too bad Dragonite didn't get past the first round...
