Same name, different surnames. I just made a confusion. Thanks for correcting it though.

Yeah, just checked who his VA is in Bulbagarden and it's the same guy who voices Danganronpa's Tanaka and Persona 5's Yuusuke. Not mentioning Seki has roles in very popular modern anime series such as My Hero Academia. Anyway, back on topic, something on an international level but still...

I missed most of SM and then most of PM 2019, before that Kenji's last speaking episode was in a late AG episode. Other than some brief cameo appearances in BW, he didn't show up in any of the XY saga. Considering those cameos were his last appearances, or the lack of any speaking roles ever...

I had to check Bulbapedia to be sure, but Togechick's only main appearance was the one evolved from Kasumi's Togepi in that AG two-parter. According to BP another one showed up in a DP episode, but just as a cameo.

I've read on MyAnimeList that this anime series'll be 52 episodes long and will be following the manga faithfully. Well, I haven't read the whole manga series yet (I purchased some issues two years ago but since I'm a VERY slow reader when it's Japanese... Haven't finished them yet), and to be...

Oh yeah, I had forgotten Ueda voices Horohoro! (it's been some time since I watched the 2001 version in Japanese, and as he hasn't appeared in the new one yet...). Oh nice, didn't know that Yonemura is working on it too xD I just wish it wasn't as rushed as it's being right now. And too bad Miki...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

I don't know how much that's obscure or not, and since some people talked about VAs, Musashi and Nyasu's voice actors (Hayashibara Megumi and Inuyama Inuko) also voice Shaman King's main characters Anna and Manta (both 2001 and 2021 versions). It's interesting that while Anna doesn't really...

I don't understand anything being said, but I heard most of the characters' Japanese names. They got to keep them in your local dub? Other than that, yeah, pretty funny dub xD Koushirou sounds like a 60-year old man xDDD I wasn't around when this particular controversy hit, but as far as I...

Course they can. I'm aspiring to become one myself and I use references\inspirations all the time while trying to keep the story and characters as original as possible. My point was that that anime is too similar to those three other franchises I mentioned, and that their comedic trio is very...

To tell the truth I've never liked this anime lol I watched a few episodes when it premiered on Jetix about 12 years ago in my home country and from the get-go it looked like a Pokemon\Digimon\Yu-Gi-Oh! rip-off. Yeah, it was also brought by 4kids, which meant many characters got new names and...

Speaking of the Rocket trio, there's another anime series where the villains strongly resemble them. They're composed of 3 people as well (2 men and a woman), and are similar comedic antagonists of the series. Kodai Ouja Kyoryuu King (or Dinosaur King, as known in the West), the Act-dan (Alpha...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

The kids in XY were drawn with more heads (the measure artists usually use when designing characters), so yeah they looked taller indeed. But why Satoshi had a bigger height in XY, as in numbers, makes no sense to me since styles can be changed while keeping similar proportion between...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

It could totally see this being the case indeed. Now going for what'd happen to Trio and Sakaki in the skipped two-parter, I'm pretty sure happened in those Meloetta episodes. Sakaki and the rest of the Rockets'd retreat back to Kanto and Trio'd congratulate Satoshi's Pikachu and remember the...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

Okay, but thing is, this's never been done until SM. Some city names got translated in the past such as Goldenrod City becoming Quinhao Dourado back in Jouto, and I remember people complaining back in the day. Or Birch becoming Betula for a couple of episodes in Houen, but that's it. All main...

The names of the moves have always been a mess ever since the start too, changing all the time. But I thought they were done with that when Pokeplus started aiding in the dub back in late-AG... I even remember Volt Tackle being given a very ridiculous name before swapping for a better one for...

Brazil's always been ignored by Nintendo imo. Remember how they left the country in 2014 with the explanation of high taxes to just come back in 2019\2020 (I don't quite remember the year, just know it quite was some time after I'd moved out of there), so it explains why the lack of a Br...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

The same way Satoshi's battle against Shaga got scrapped due to B2W2, any plans OLM had for Plasma-dan post-Tohoku earthquake were trashed as well imo. Of course we have no confirmation of this, but it's hard to believe the skipped two-parter was gonna be their only appearance. I'd go as far as...

    Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

Not that this is important, it's more of a curiosity, in how many dubs is Satoshi voiced by a male voice actor? I know only the Brazilian Portuguese (the one I grew up with), and maybe the Italian one (not 100% sure though, might be mistaken here).

I remember those. Some of them were pretty funny, like the thin Johnny Bravo. And just like you said the Toon Biography segments were most likely Latin America-exclusive. By the way, aside from the anime pictures and episodes parts, none of those pictures are official.

I know that and I watched both cartoons. He said in a video he was younger, therefore bending his voice was easier than it's been afterwards. About the backlash it makes a little sense I guess... Not that I agree with it, but people tend to not like those sudden changes.
