On the Ash attack thing/James attack thing, I think the idea is that usually it comes off as more affectionate (post Johto Ash and James) or deserved (Kanto Ash) but this doesn't.

Probably best, and I'll admit my own judgement is waiting on battle. I'm a battle fan, less a SoL fan. I'm also a tad worried about the potential swing to more episodic versus semi-serialized.
