SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

This reminds me of that strange phenomenon in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire where Golbat splash around in the water if you surf inside a cave. That was merely an oversight though, whereas this is probably a glitch if Vanillish usually hover above the water.

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

G-Max Coalossal and Lapras (and also Machamp and Gengar) were technically no longer version-exclusives once The Isle of Armor introduced Max Soup. That's still quite odd if they didn't add any G-Max Lapras dens in Sword, though.

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

I've only played the Sword DLC so I can't really say much about Avery, but Klara being the rival makes more sense to me. In Sword, you have two female rivals and two male rivals, all of whom specialise in different types. In Shield, you have one female rival and three male rivals, two of whom...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Maybe the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra, being large expanses of wildnerness that not many people have visited, haven't been fully documented by researchers yet, and the player character is the first person to discover that Dhelmise and Wailmer live in those locations.

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Haha! Does it count as a Mandela if it's a very recent thing? I've known for many years that only outsider Pokemon disobey, but forgot momentarily, maybe because these Dynamax Adventures legendaries are an unusual case that I didn't think to apply the same logic to. (Although now you mention...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

You know what, I'd completely forgotten about obedience only applying to outsider Pokemon. That makes the decision to give players access to legendaries so early in the game even more baffling. I know what I'll be doing later! (I wouldn't use these legendaries in a "serious" playthrough, but...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Now that you mention it, I actually did use an event Keldeo on my first White 2 playthrough. It doesn't feel quite so strange when it's an event Pokemon somehow, because they're a special, temporary thing, rather than something that's been added permanently to the game. I do quite like how...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Does anyone else find it odd how, thanks to Dynamax Adventures, you can now catch Legendaries before even reaching the first Gym? That's like finding a Mewtwo in Viridian Forest! The Isle of Armor works really well as a supplement to the main story, but I think the Crown Tundra, with its...

Maybe that Cosmog came from an alternate or future version of Alola, where the fossil restoration man on Route 8 completed his "Dream Park" project.

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

You've hit the nail on the head! I do feel like I've been exploited. I'm not much of a collector, and don't usually even buy both versions of a game, but because Galar is extra special to me (being from the UK and all) I feel like I want to have the full experience, and to preserve that full...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Yeah, I can see why it works better for some people - perhaps most people. The only reason it's affected me negatively is because of my preference for physical copies. I have the digital Sword Expansion Pass already, so I could just buy the Shield Expansion Pass now and call it a day. But I'm...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

I agree that Sword and Shield are way overpriced. A new copy of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon would have cost about £38 in the UK, whereas copies of Sword and Shield with the Expansion Pass are currently retailing at £65 at the cheapest. I also feel that I've been completely screwed over by the new...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

Now that the bundled editions of Sword and Shield + the Expansion Pass are out, do we have any info on their compatibility with the original copies of the game? I'm currently playing an original copy of Sword with the digital Expansion Pass installed, and I'm curious to know whether I could...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

I've only taken part in a couple of Galarian Star Tournaments so far, but I'm in love with the feature already. I completely agree with this review - it's the perfect postgame activity for people like myself who prefer to play alone. I like being able to wear my own outfit in a stadium at last...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

You can actually get the other Pokemon without trading, if you make a new save file on a different user account. It's still a hassle though, I agree! If we can get both without trading anyway, then why not let us catch them both on the same file instead of having to play through the game twice?

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

How do you get and the to appear in the Crown Tundra? Do you have to finish the mission first? I hope not, because I'm not really in the mood for lots of Max Raid battles right now, and would rather go out adventuring in the snow again.

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

A tip for catching Galarian Articuno: you can change the date on your Switch to one when there's no Hail in the Crown Tundra (Serebii has a list of these dates here) so that Articuno doesn't get KO'd by it. If you want Articuno to still have the correct date on its summary screen, you can...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

After the Isle of Armor update, background music began stopping and starting abruptly when leaving/entering an area, which broke the immersion a bit for me. It also caused the end of the music to get cut off when completing a Gym mission, which spoiled the atmosphere of those moments. I've...

SwSh Sword & Shield: Expansion Pass

I'd forgotten about those Watt traders! Maybe they thought it wasn't worth including them because there aren't as many new additions in this Pokedex (74, compared to the Isle of Armor's 109)? It's a shame though, I enjoy collecting "seen" entries.
