I don't expect them to outsource to Nintendo unless they want to become more involved in general Nintendo activities rather than being mostly independent.
Except now they're working on hardware far beyond what they're used to, and with them now outsourcing development there might be a massive change as to how GF operates.
Well, now that they're on a home console development is going to get harder, and GF only has 100+ employees. They basically will not be able to create an impressive Pokemon game if another one is being made. I believe that Gen 9 will take quite a long time to create unless they outsource it or...
Well, game development will be much harder on a home console environment than a handheld environment. I expect longer gaps between new gens, and more remakes to fill in the added space. I believe that in 2023 if GF is releasing anything it will be Let's Go-related.
Also, I don't expect them to be working on two massive main series game simultaneously. I expect a smaller main series game to come out between Legends and Gen 9.
The lack of multiplayer could also be explained by the fact that the technology that normally facilitates trading has not been invented yet in universe.
