The new rival would serve no purpose unless he caught Eevee, which would be a shame. Gary might come to study Meltan if it isn't in the movie. Finally, the only satisfying role for Lance would be a showdown with Giovanni, but having that happen in Alola would be forced.
There won't be 6 episodes for Poni Island because there were already two arcs spent there, not to mention that Mina was introduced a while back. And the only "Puni-chan" left to deal with is Meltan, which you're saying there is no time left for. Eevee is almost certainly "just" another capture...
Okay, but the point is that the in-story reason why it won't evolve doesn't matter. They don't even need to address it if you look at the likes of Rowlet.
Eevee is nowhere near Kiawe on that poster, and LGPE promotion dictates that it won't evolve. Precedents mean little when Eevee hasn't been a version mascot before.
Double battles aren't in the games as far as we know. The co-op feature is for 2vs1 battles, which I am not sure Game Freak would make the opponent pull on kids (even though they should).
I could see them partnering with Lillie (Brock) and Lana (Misty) to catch Pokemon. The Alola characters would catch Kanto Pokemon and vice-versa.
Because it was the anime's 20th anniversary and the movie didn't celebrate it nearly enough.
While LGPE are Yellow remakes with largely the same story beats, I have to wonder if they'll get the same treatment as previous remakes by OLM (which is to say, not very much). While the locations and Kanto gyms seem to be unchanged, is that really the biggest pull of the games? It's catching...
Keep saying that if it makes you feel better.
He could re-challenge the exact same gym leaders (even though they certainly don't have to be the same) and kids wouldn't bat an eye because it would be new content for the vast majority of them. We aren't the target audience, but even for us the...
If memory serves me well, he lost in the Indigo League and hasn't won any other league tournament since. So of course he has a reason to re-enter his home league.
And he was eager to have a rematch with Misty just because. It stands to reason that he would be excited about new gym leaders and...
I don't know how many people would like a second reboot. I certainly wouldn't.
There are two guaranteed new gym leaders if the games are sequels: Janine and whoever replaces Blue (Agatha in the anime). Come to think of it, Ash has never battled Forrest (who might have a Mega Tyranitar or...
