The GTS is a mess. People would ask for Arceus in exchange of a Magikarp. If Switch couldn't trade with 3DS, those who play on the Switch would have a hard time trading.

I personally got lucky because my friend gave me his 3DS. Else, I would have waited, so I would have been without a Pokémon game right now. I think GF should put the old games on VC. Some people still like playing Emerald even though ORAS exists.

I think they should ditch the 3DS when Gen 8. If we get Sinnoh remakes this generation, I think they should be on both the 3DS and the Switch.

Gen 8 will def be in the Switch. But Gen 4 heavily depends on the dual screen, so Sinnoh remakes might be for the 3DS if they happen during Gen 7.

He just wants gullible people to still buy the 3DS. Plus, for me, that 3DS isn't dead before it stops running the latest Pokémon generation. :p So it will die when Gen 8 is out.

It depends on the fee, but people would already have to pay a lot for the Switch. This will discourage many people from using online services, making trading harder. It's already hard when I see people asking for Legendaries in exchange of some Level 1 Rowlet.
