Perhaps it's because I'm bad at looking, but I can't find a guide for formatting fanfiction for the viewing pleasure of readers on these forums. If there is such a guide, could someone please direct me to it?

However, if no such guide exists, I only have a couple of questions.

1. What is appropriate spacing for paragraphs?
2. Is it okay to have large blocks of italicized text?

1. I just give a single space for paragraphs. As for large blocks, how large are we talking here?

Well... I am a person who uses italics for prologues... and I have a lot of prologue to slug through. I don't know what the transition from Word to forum does for the page length, but it's a lot.

1) 1 space between conversation dialogue, 2 spaces between other paragraphs is usually how I do it. You could just use 2 spaces for everything, as well.

2) It is, as long as it's separated from the rest of the text in some way.
