Of course they're not gonna eat your brains, you're staff so that means you're included in the zombies. Non-human entities causing the apocalypse not fighting each other is, like, a universal rule of all apocalypses; only humans are allowed to do that.
Zombies wouldn't be very effective at forming a mob to hunt down survivors if they were too busy attacking each other to try and eat each other's brains, now, would they?
