Japanese don't greet each other with "ひ", and "ひ" is not a word neither.
"ひ" in Japanese =/= "Hi" in English. The former has absolutely no meaning, and the latter is genuinely a true greeting word.
I'm sorry, but I'm really a word-splitter that is very punctilious in choice of wording. It just irritates me and wanted to nit-pick all the meaningless word if I saw other people using it.
So just be careful.
