  • If your story fails, I doubt the guy who made the banner would be offended.

The natural choice for banners is Blazaking but he is simply way too busy. That said, Instrutilus has made some pretty awesome stuff for me recently, so maybe you should ask him instead?
No, I meant just post Prologue in its title and have Chapter 1 come out next. I was just saying you didn't need to post Chapter 1 as well in the same post. And it doesn't matter if it's longer than your normal chapter length, some chapters are long, some are short, that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
You can just make it a prologue but post it as the first chapter if you see what I mean.

If you wrote it as a prologue, call it a prologue, but you can post that straight away. Where the rules say you must post your first chapter in your first post, I think posting a prologue instead is allowed.
Excellent! Just make sure you don't dwell on the intro too much, that was a big problem with A Girl and Her Journey. I'd say, by the third chapter, the main character should've started the real adventure.
    Yeah, I'm still here.

Let me know when you've written it or if you need any more help!
Yeah, I think that works. Be very careful about what point of view you tell it from though. Also, when buildings catch fire, people tend to die from ingesting too much smoke rather than from actually being burnt to death, they're usually burnt after they die.

I don't see why a fire spreading that quickly wouldn't be believable, particularly if it was some sort of chemical fire.
Yeah, creating entirely new worlds always takes a long time.

20-25 Pokemon will only work if you introduce them over a very long period.

For instance, I'd estimate introducing one new species every like three chapters. Obviously there are exceptions to that, near the start you can do more than that and evolutionary families can always be introduced at the same time too.

Making the other region smaller would work too, in fact, I think that'd be the best way to make it work.

I think the best thing to do would be to not be too specific about the meltdown. Just say there was a 'nuclear accident' and then no one can question it.

If you need any help with this, be sure to ask, I'm really excited about this!
As for creating all new species of Pokémon be VERY careful. You risk alienating the audience. It’s hard to keep up with new species of Pokémon that exist only in the written world. If you want to create new species, one thing you could do is have them as adapted forms of old species – Pokémon that have adapted to the fallout. For instance, you could a Charmeleon that has become black to blend in with the smoke and dirt and can ingest small amounts of Poison without coming to any harm.

Your idea for a Legendary sounds good though, one that feeds off pollution sounds great! If you’re making a Legendary, you could make this a totally original Pokémon, just be sure to mention it early on and give it LOTS of description.

I think this could really work as an idea for a fic, it’s a really unique idea. I’m a little jealous I didn’t come up with it!
I think that's a brilliant idea for a fic! A sort of post apocalyptic setting is a great idea! I don't think I've seen it done before.

I like the idea of the evil team trying to fix the problem at any cost, but why don't you have a few different factions? For instance, in a world that has probably devolved into lawlessness, as well as people who will ruthlessly try to re-establish what has been lost, there will be people who simply want to take advantage of the situation. There's room for a lot of different groups of people. If the protagonist starts alone, possible after his family dying and then flits from group to group, seeing what's wrong with each group of people?
Nothing new down my end really.

I can't believe your school has started already! I only just left Uni!

Please don't give up on writing, I really like your style and your ideas. I can understand your abandonment of your HWOSA fic because I think that was just the written equivelant of a fling, a rebound if you will.

I can even see why you might give up on A Girl and Her Journey, it's not getting the responses you want and it appears that not many people are reading it.

Even if you give up on what you've already started, try and come up with a new idea. I don't know what that would be but you've definitely learnt from what you've written so far - take that and run with it!
Cool. This is random, but have you ever felt just unable to get someone off your mind?
