He would tease her. And are you saying that Misty is the one at fault here? Then what bearing does it have on the OS-AU Ash comparison? This isn't a Pokegirl thread.
Here's an excerpt from the latest manga adaptation, following Ash's recovery from the loss:
It goes to show that he remains...
It was slapstick comedy typical of the 90s, and it went both ways. Nothing they said implied that they regretted traveling together. They didn't need to be scared shitless to realize they'd been wrong, either.
Rolling my eyes here.
That depends. I think that the original series contains enough meaningful scenes to pick from. But I also think it would be fair to make the OS portion longer precisely for that reason, and because it represents two sagas (arguably three). But really, two old scenes should be enough. Maybe a...
Are you kidding me? The reason he was upset was AJ and how the entire battle felt off.
He clearly expressed his belief that training shouldn't be serious business and that friendship comes first. This is what you consider a comparison to AU Ash?
I wouldn't have a problem with Ash insulting...
Except he did have a reason to be upset with Bayleef since she was constantly hurting him physically. And since he was so surprised to see Bayleef leave, he obviously never intended to alienate her (Brock even says that Bayleef wasn't thinking logically), which is not what happens in the movie...
Yeah, those 5-second gags are totally the same thing!
First of all, that depends on the context - and it doesn't exactly make those people good. Raising your voice at someone is okay, but telling them that you regret ever meeting them is way worse unless they did something messed up...
Unacceptable. I have no interest in seeing Ho-Oh accept a self-centered brat with a huge attitude problem. Just because the plot makes Pikachu quickly move past the insult doesn't make it okay.
Also, notice how he says "wanted him back" as if OS Ash were ever like this. He was immature and...
Some of them have watched it.
And this may be shocking, but it's a bigger deal if they choose not to watch it at all. Actions speak louder than words.
Everything has been spoiled, anyway.
Wrong thread, and what the hell do Go and SM have to do with the anime? Those are just easter eggs. USUM are going to feature the movie hat, too.
Show me Ash's original hat in the SM series and then we'll talk.
Separate the wheat from the shaff. I could reply to those points (for one thing, the Sevii Islands, Giovanni event never contradicted original events) if the topic were really about fans' expectations not being in check. The point is that very few people are interested in an AU and even the...
1. Games like FRLG revamped Red's design but kept the original story virtually unchanged.
2. The hat could have been alluding to a post-XY adventure in Kanto.
3. Again, this is really not my point; I did expect an AU to begin with (just a less pointless one). I won't waste more time on this...
Lol, no. A silly hat is not akin to the movie being promoted as an AU - just read Yuyama's quote. Games like FRLG revamped Red's design but kept the original story virtually unchanged.
Also, that is such a strawman argument when it doesn't matter when people should have expected an AU. The...
The plot should have been like this:
1. An exact retelling of the first episode (20 minutes).
2. Flashforward to the gap between XY and SM. Ash is no longer as boring as in XYZ. Ash has been bestowed the Rainbow Wing and is motivated to find Ho-Oh after all this time. (5 minutes)
3. Team Rocket...
They could have had the movie involve Ash's flashbacks - preferably with new scenes - that Ash would recall on his way to meeting Ho-Oh (see Lucario's flashbacks with Aaron). That way each cast would get at least 5 minutes of special screentime just among themselves. Also...
For May, either...
Even what they did makes more sense than that because at least it treats Misty and Brock equally, and doesn't retcon Dawn's goal to that of a vagabond.
That's nice, but the movie is about Ash's Kanto journey. There was never any reason to expect the other companions (there are at least three key OS episodes being adapted), and making all fans equally disappointed is a pretty dumb idea.
I mean, using this logic Butterfree and Charizard...
They should have stuck to the OS crew. It is not as if the movie they ended up going for has real references to any series but the OS, so not using the classic characters is just incomprehensible. Only diehard OS haters benefit from it.
