Pokémon Emerald to feature in Bingothon Winter 2023 charity marathon event benefitting Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center

Bingothon will be celebrating 5 years of charity marathons with their Winter 2023 event, which will run from December 1st to December 4th, in support of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. A race of Pokémon Emerald randomizer will feature as part of this event on December 3rd.

As the name suggests, Bingothon is a series of events featuring Bingos, a popular alternative means of racing games besides simply going for completion. The goal of a bingo is to complete a line of objectives given on a 5x5 card. Various different modes exist, including completing multiple lines, team variants, or lockout - wherein objectives completed by one racer cannot be completed by another. You can see an example of such a bingo to the left, though this card is only an example and the one used during the actual run is likely to be quite different.

Fred Hutch is an independent research and clinical organization dedicated to the research and treatment of cancer and other diseases. The Cancer Center also serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program.
