Squirtle fell flat on his face. He knew he couldn't give up yet. He slowly stood up to show his trainer he wasn't through just yet.
"Alright Squirtle! Don't give up yet! Use bubble!" Patrice called out.
Squirtle, with all of his might shot out a wave of bubbles at Turtwig.

Nathan knew Turtwig had just healed himself some, and water wasn't very effective, calling out, "Take the bubble and charge with a tackle!" Turtwig understood his orders, shaking off the bubble, and running at Squirtle.

This time Squirtle really fell on his back and landed on the ground. Squirtle fainted.

"Well, good match Nathan, and you too Turtwig. Come on Squirtle, time for you to rest for a little while." Patrice said.

"Thanks, you to Patrice, I think Squirtle did really well in a match with a type disadvantage" He said, similing. Tutwig also smiled at the complement, "Turtwig! Wig!" (Thanks! Squirtle did well too). "You deserve some rest too" Nathan said, pulling a pokeball from his belt and returning the pokemon with a flash of red light. "So I guess its your guy's turn now"

"Great match guys! I'm ready when you are." Said Logan as he turned toward Justin. Amusei began jumping up and down in excitement.

"That was awesome!" Justin excitedly said, now eager to battle Logan. He figured he'd go for type advantage here. He, Ty, and Shinx got ready to face Logan, standing on the opposite side. "This is gonna be fun." Justin smirked as Shinx went in front of him

The little Shinx's ability was Intimidate, glaring and giving a bit of a dark laugh at the Totodile.

Logan flinched for a second. He assumed Justin would go with Ty. Unfortunately he had no choice but to keep Amusei in, Rattata wouldn't obey him. "Ok Amusei, he has a type advantage but we can still win." Logan reassured his Totodile. "Toto..." (Uh ok...) Amusei said, a little put off by Shinx's ability. "Let's start things off, Amusei, use Water Gun!" Logan ordered Amusei. The Totodile then opened his mouth and shot a water gun attack at the Shinx.

Justin smirked a bit "Shinx dodge it and follow up with Leer!" Just said, having a good plan going through his mind. With Shinx's ability and this attack, Amusei's attack and defense power would go down.

Shinx jumped out of the way and soon glared at the Totodile.

"Don't let him get in your head Amusei. Get close and use Water Gun." Logan said. Amusei ran toward Shinx. He tried shrugging off the Leer but couldn't. He continued his attack and as he ran over to Shinx he leaped in the air and shot a Water Gun when he was above his foe.

Amusei landed on his feet and looked towards Shinx who was running towards him. Logan though fast, "Amusei, Scratch attack!". The Totodile swung a scratch attack a Shinx as it collided with him. Scratch wasn't at full strength but was able to knock Shinx away and avoid full contact. Amusei was damaged by the electricity however didn't take much physical damage so he wasn't to hurt. Amusei took a second to recover and waited for Shinx's next attack.

Light watched as the Totodile and Shinx battled, cheering as he had done before. The small Riolu let out a yawn as he sat, watching with studious eyes.

Nathan, sitting on the sidelines with Patrice, saw that a small Riolu was also watching the battle. "Hey, Patrice, is that a wild Riolu?" he asked excitedly, standing up. "I bet finding one is pretty rare" he continued as he began to walk towards the Pokemon, looking to capture it.

Light looked up at the trainer with a curious gaze. "Ri-Rio?" (May I help you?)

"Riolu! Prepared to be caught!" Nathan said, dramatically, pulling a pokeball from his bag, and holding it in front of him.

"Ri-Riolu." he yawned. (You must be confused.)

Nathan was less than enthused by the Pokemons lack of reaction. "Uhh, Riolu, you're supposed to do something, run away, or agree to be my Pokemon, you know, something a wild Pokemon would do" he said, shrugging, a little dejected.

"Ri-Rio-Ri." (Like an uncivilized pokemon? As if.)

Nathan, still not understanding what the Pokemon was saying, looked around the surrounding area to see if the Riolu belonged to a trainer. "Well, if you're not a wild Pokemon, then where's you're trainer? Probably a not very good one, if they've already lost you on Route 1..." he said, sitting down next to the Pokemon, continuing to watch the battle.
