    The rest of Kalos had been surprised by Xerosic’s rise to the top that no one thought of how he got to it. Only one person knew how, and he was too emotionally broken to do anything about it.

    Clemont’s Luxray heaved a breath of air slowly as Xerosic’s Malamar fell down. It’s eyes were replaced with the classic swirls that represented defeat. A red beam surrounded it and it was summoned back into the mysterious confines of the Pokéball in Xerosic’s hand.

    “I… I don’t know how.”

    “This is my gym. No one can take it away from me.” He stepped forward and forced Xerosic backwards. The large scientist fell backwards into a trap door and was silenced.

    “Clembot, how are you doing with shutting down the system?”

    “zzt-Quite well master Clemont. I am almost done. However, this is one small problem.”

    “Yes?”

    “In order for this to be successful, I need to overload the system, which means that I will do the same. My memory chip will be destroyed.”

    “…No, there’s another way. I’m sure.” Clemont tried to disguise his voice with happiness, but even a robot such as Clembot could see through the false act. He started rummaging through useless tools to reassure himself that there was a silver lining around the corner, but Clembot had to highlight the inevitable fact.

    “Master, it’s okay. I need to do this.”

    Clemont sat still, staring through the lens of his glasses towards the ground. “What if I can’t?”

    “Master Clemont, it has been an honour getting to know you and serve with you. You have given me the ability to see amazing things, and I thank you for that. But I am ready. This is for the good of everyone. I will live on in memory.”

    Sniffles besieged the noiseless background for a few moments, then once again, silence ruled. Clemont sat up straighter, readjusted his glasses and looked towards the panel.

    “Okay.” He began to press buttons and it came down to the moment. All that was left was the imminent force of pushing down that ENTER button. “Just know I feel the same way.” It was with these words that he pushed his finger down hesitantly. Short beeps began to arise in the air and quicken up pace. They soon merged together to form one long siren, and it ended with a large bang. Clembot’s head cracked backwards, and smoke streamed from its top. The mechanical body dropped violently and smashed against the hard floor. Clemont’s face drooped in regret and fell onto Clembot’s cold chest. The Mega Evolution Ray was destroyed, and Z2 was freed from Team Flare’s control. But none of that mattered in comparison to this. Clemont was heartbroken, and was oblivious to the fact Xerosic had escaped the trap door from underneath and had locked down the tower, preventing Clemont’s escape.

    It was after this that Xerosic climbed into the Team Flare jet and headed towards Team Flare HQ in order to start the countdown for the release of the Megalith. Soon, he was flying over the large stone body as it pushed through the forest and towards the Sundial. But a grunt had a message for him, and he didn’t like it.

    “Uhh, Master Xerosic?”

    “Yes?”

    “There seems to be a group of people gathering at the end of the stretch of land before the water. It includes that annoying group and the Kalos Gym Leaders.”

    It is now Day 6. The phase will end in 48 hours at 3:00pm on Wednesday the 7th of December GMT+10. Note, this is likely to change, so stay tuned. However, it may end before then if a Hyper-Majority is reached. With 8 players remaining, this will occur with 6 votes.

    The battle was starting to reach the end; a possibility that was too imminent for most. Yet, they all gathered as mankind’s last hope. The dim radiance of the sundial shone in the background, and the rest of Ash’s group, professors, champions and gym leaders stood in the dusk of their fight. The Megalith had just reached a point where they could reasonably attack, and so they began.

    First, the gym leaders began to charge. Each had their own specialty that they hoped would be effective. Each of their Pokémon began to fire quick shots in rapid succession, trying to break through the stone tank. Blasts of energy were continuously colliding with its sides, but the Megalith continued to march forward, unopposed and invincible. It didn’t attack any of the gym leaders, as it was programmed for one target only. And that target happened to rest in Bonnie’s hands. Squishy, now in its core form, was vulnerable. Roots erupted around Bonnie, whose scream caught the attention of each person there. However, one of them in particular was more connected than they realised. Blaziken Mask, or otherwise known as Meyer, couldn’t watch as the plants tried to attack his daughter. He leapt forward with his partner, kicking through some of the rogue vines as they began to fight against an unpredictable force. But as soon as they began to succeed, more foliage grew in its place. This was an eternal battle that couldn’t be won. One of the roots caught Blaziken Mask from behind, throwing him backwards onto the rocks. Halfway in the air, his iconic mask fell off and shattered against a sharp edge. His face was exposed, and his secret vanished.

    “Dad!” Bonnie gathered Squishy and Dedenne, and began to dodge and weave through the mayhem. She reached her father’s side, watching him gasp acutely with pain.

    “Ah, Bonnie. Now you know my secret.”

    “Dad, are you okay?”

    “I’m fine. I’m just-sore, exhausted, etc. Everything that comes with being hit by a plant and hitting your head on a rock. I just need to rest for a bit.”

    The Megalith finally regained Squishy’s position, and once again, they were surrounded by roots that reached towards the non-existent sun. They began whacking Bonnie and fishing for Squishy’s torso. Meyer commanded Blaziken to protect them, and the mega evolved Pokémon fought back.

    But ultimately, nothing could stop this. The plants pushed Blaziken down onto Meyer. Both were knocked out at the force.

    “Dad!” Meyer’s head tilted to the side, its unconscious state troubling Bonnie. Serena went to her side and pulled her from the clutches of the plants. Together, they fled from the barrage of craziness that had overcome their innocent lives.

    Watching his friends vanish underneath the rubble had emotionally scarred Sawyer. Hence, why he was still curled up in a ball and concealed in the unusually quiet city. The eerie stillness of the world around him was an uncanny comfort from the previous nature of the streets. He remained there, alone, thinking about life and its great mysteries. However, his thought process was interrupted when several explosions could be heard from a distance. There was a series of sudden outbursts that shook the atmosphere and what could only be described as the destruction of war itself could be heard.

    The thought of his idol, Ash, fighting against the powerful odds stacked against them erased any doubts left in Sawyer’s mind. He could no longer let the emotions and shock control him. It was his turn to become his own hero, and step out of his friend’s shadow. But he didn’t know that Ash currently didn’t have a shadow as he laid out of sight and mind at the top of that tower.

    Sawyer sent out Salamence, the large dragon bellowing a deep monotone roar as it was released. Sawyer sat onto the Hoenn Pokémon’s back, and said calmly, “Head towards the battle.”

    The scaled creature nodded and lifted off into flight quickly. It soared and sliced through the tense air clogging the city. It slowly dipped to fly straight once reaching the height of the tallest buildings, twisting and weaving through the heads of the metal structures.

    But as luck would have it, Sawyer would be immobilised like his mentor before him. A rogue root rocketed out of a window, glass shattering and falling down several stories to the ground below. The tips of the plants caught Salamence’s wing in a firm grip, and the red and green monster contorted downwards. It spiralled, circling a blank spot on the ground. Both Sawyer and Salamence tried to pull up, but the ground came faster than planned. The crashed into the rubble of the streets, both knocked out from the collision.

    The group was slowly dwindling down in numbers. Most were unfortunate surprises. Others, were signalling a slow, but maybe possible demise of Team Flare. Today, the unfortunate surprises continued.

    Serena and Bonnie fell to the ground below the sweeping arc of a plant root. The sharp exterior of the rocks below them didn’t soften the fall. The rolled to the side to avoid the hammering swing of the vines, quickly finding their feet and sprinting from their chasers. Bonnie, however, wasn’t the best runner, and she swiftly tripped into a position of danger. Dedenne and Squishy both sprawled out of her arms into the cruel exposure of the decaying world. The plants sensed the movement and targeted the small, limbless creature.

    “Squishy!” The Core closed its eyes and waited for the vines to wrap around its defenceless body. Bonnie was at least 5 metres away, but still reached out in the hope of saving her precious little friend.

    A purple and green beam intercepted the vines in a blurry haste. The ends of the vines sizzled and fell of the end, singed a dark black. Professor Sycamore’s Mega Garchomp stood above them, smoke puffing from its mouth. Its large fins glowed green and he began to swing violently. It was in an attacking frenzy, its docile nature gone with the integrity of Kalos. Sycamore was behind it, furiously commanding attacks in rapid succession. The Megalith recognised the threat and knew it needed to be eliminated. A green sphere grew at the front of its face, increasing in size until the ball was larger than the head itself. It fired the pulse, with Bonnie and Squishy also in the projectile’s vicinity. With one last push, Sycamore demanded for Garchomp to protect Bonnie and Squishy. Its claws lengthened considerably as they adopted a sea green, and it leapt in front of the incoming sphere. It collided with its claws, and the large beast was pushed backwards. It collided with its master and lost its mega form, both knocked out.

    Bonnie screamed and cried again. The Gym Leaders saw the event and continued to fight, but they too were slowly being defeated. Olympia’s eyes glowed blue and her mind dove into Squishy’s.

    Squishy opened its eyes and nodded. Only a Zygarde could stop another Zygarde.

    Ash had developed many friends throughout his travels, but there were always a special few that held a special position in his mind. For others, that’s where they held Ash.

    Only half of the Gym Leaders were left. The two champions were there, and only Ash’s female companions remained from that group. When the group met up with Diantha earlier, she had brought Ash’s Pikachu with her to help fight in this last push. He was physically unhurt from the ordeal at the top of Prism Tower, and wanted to help in any way he could. Bonnie and Serena had been ordering his attacks, and he presented himself as a vital asset to the resistance. But as the numbers slowly dwindled, more pressure fell on those that never needed it. Bonnie was a young girl, and she was tasked with keeping the most important tool, Squishy, safe with her at all times. This made her the largest target for attacks, and unfortunately, she was currently being chased by vines once again around the desolated land near the ocean.

    “AHHH!” She continued to squeal in that high-pitched voice as she hopped frantically.

    “Just-hold on, Bonnie!” Serena had no idea what to do. Steven, Diantha and the gym leaders were all preoccupied. She tried to muster up the courage to intervene, but came to no resolution.

    “Pika!” Pikachu dashed into the green frenzy. Dedenne called out from Bonnie’s shoulder, and Squishy leapt from her satchel. The little creature bounced around bringing the attention away from Bonnie. However, this was a bad move, and the plants now took prey on the split individuals. Squishy, Bonnie and Dedenne and Pikachu were all caught in the clasp of a vine.

    “Pika-chuuuuuuuuuuuu!” Pikachu tried to break free with Thunderbolt, repeating over and over again until he was emotionally and physically drained.

    “Pika… chu…” His determined tone dropped and became disconsolate.

    “Bonnie! Pikachu!” Serena was stuck outside of the fray. She was as hopeless as those who were trapped.

    Bonnie had to say one last thing before everything seemed so close to being over. “Squishy, you can still do this.” The limbless blob’s head tilted sideways and cooed in question of this revelation. “Listen to me. You are Squishy, and you can do anything. I don’t want to say goodbye, and I’m sure we’ll see each other soon. But we can break you free. You need to stop it… from reaching the Sundial…” She was overcome with tears now, and her voice was shivering from the sorrow that engulfed her heart. “Thank you, Squishy. Thank you for everything… Dedenne, Pikachu, now!” Yellow flares of electricity lit up the sky of shadows. Severe yellow auras surrounded Pikachu and Dedenne and Bonnie. The power was like nothing Serena had ever seen. Determination and hope really brought out the best in people.

    The plants squirmed against the new current, trying to hold their grip. The electric wave intensified, and Pikachu’s tailed glowed a velvet silver. Both Pokémon began wriggling passionately to break free, but it wasn’t this that broke them free. The field of light around them blew in a huge explosion. The plants sizzled from existence, and Squishy fell to the ground, unharmed. But the smoke cleared, and there, laying on the ill-fated ground was Bonnie, Dedenne and Pikachu. All had fainted, and the innocent little beings risked their youth to protect the world, a responsibility that no one should have had to endure.

    You are the cute little sister of Lumiose’s Gym Leader Clemont, being one of the two female companions Ash had during his time in Kalos. You constantly ask girls to marry your big brother, and this never ends well.

    At the start of the XY&Z series, you met Squishy. You carried this Zygarde Core around with you for the remainder of your journey, looking after it and even singing to it to break it from Team Flare’s control. Because of this, you are the Kalos Heroes’ Babysitter Singer. Every night, you can choose a player to protect from nightkills. However, if you are targeted for a kill during the night, both of you will die. You can do this by replying to this PM with Look After: [Player]. Additionally, after your death, a random role that is in the game will be revealed to the mafia.

    Serena burst into tears at the sight of their unconscious bodies on the ground. She fell to her knees and thrust herself into a state of obliviousness to the tragedy around her.

    Meanwhile, Squishy was glowing a powerful green. Beams of light around it were seeking its body. The pounded into its tiny frame, and each addition made the screen of light grow. Z2 had recovered by now and met its partner. They nodded to each other and combined, until eventually, the colossal Complete Zygarde was hovering in the sky.

    Olympia peered into the sky. “The time has come.”

    It is now Day 8. This will be the last phase in the game. There are three players left, so the first player to receive 2 votes will be lynched. So, the phase will end once Hyper-Majority is reached.

    Serena’s head shot up towards the sky. Her wide eyes observed the majestic power of the combined cores; their four wings splitting apart and its body lighting up in green. A titanic beam erupted from its torso; its destination to the left of the Megalith. Its cracked head tilted upwards and watched the beam slowly move from one side to the other. The stream of light continued to zig-zag across the dirt, until it connected with the exterior of the Megalith. The stone cracked and purple streaks of colour shot out from the wound. Squishy and its fellow cores tore through the unnatural being with vigour and revenge, images of Bonnie, Ash and Lysandre’s wicked face bringing out a vast range of emotions. The cracks continued to show in the Megalith’s body, and the purple rays multiplied immensely. Within a few seconds, Zygarde completed the ‘Z’ shape, and the Megalith exploded. The force shook the ground, but everyone finally knew it.

    It was over…

    Ash woke up in a hospital bed. He blinked multiple times to let the obscurity of his vision disappear. Stabs of pain ravaged his body as he tilted his head to the side. In the bed to his right, was Greninja, still in a state of unconsciousness. In the bed to his left, was Alain. There was a large scar on his face, but he seemed okay otherwise.

    “When are you going to look over here?!” Ash’s eyes darted to the foot of the bed, where a large group of people were standing. The words had come from Serena’s mouth, who was smiling brightly after seeing her friend wake up. Clemont, Bonnie, Dedenne, Meyer, Sawyer, Tierno, Shauna, Trevor, Professor Sycamore and all of Ash’s Pokémon looked down on him in relief. Pikachu leapt off Serena’s shoulder and onto Ash’s leg. He yelped in response, but was glad his partner was happy to see him. Hawlucha, Talonflame, Noivern and Goodra all flew or walked to his bedside and cried out in joy. The humans soon followed suit and Ash was the centre of attention.

    “Thankyou *cough* everyone.”

    “Greninja.” Greninja was finally awake. His eyes imitated Ash’s and he reached out for an unprecedented high five. Ash stretched out and completed it. They knew the battle was over.

    Alain had woken up a day after Ash. He and Charizard had taken the full blow of the wreckage that landed on top of them. Mairin always had to be protected. He wouldn’t have been able to live with himself otherwise. But he still had one last piece of business to finish this ordeal off. He stood outside the entrance to a cave; the vast stretch of darkness blocking vision to its core. With Charizard behind him, he treaded into the black. After walking for a few minutes, he rested his palm on Charizard’s shoulder. “Light it up.” A strong flamethrower burst from the dragon’s mouth and illuminated the room. There were several burnt torches along the walls, which adopted the flames flying around the room. In the back corner, huddled Xerosic. The last remaining admin of Team Flare yelped in fear and reached for a Pokéball.

    “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Xerosic’s hand retracted quickly. Alain approached him and grasped the scientist’s collar. “You did well to get this far, but I can’t take any more chances.” He led the Team Flare admin out of the cave and into the back of a police vehicle. Officer Jenny thanked Alain and took the criminal back to prison. Alain grinned with grit and the satisfaction of triumph over evil. Xerosic, was defeated.

    Ash was standing outside of Prism Tower. Meyer and the newly built Clembot were walking back into the building as more people came to say goodbye. Approaching Ash, Clemont, Serena and Bonnie were many of the people they encountered during their travels. One by one, the clusters of people said their goodbyes to Ash and Serena, who had both decided to continue on their respective journeys. Tierno, Trevor and Shauna were first, followed by the gym leaders.

    “I see you perfected your form and reached your full potential. I’m impressed, Ash.”

    “Thank you, Olympia.”

    Sawyer was next. He stuck out his hand and nodded. Ash grasped it and shook.

    “Ash, I hope to surpass you one day. I won’t stop until I do.”

    “I can promise you, Sawyer, that I’ll make sure to keep training so that will never happen.” Sawyer smiled and walked away. Professor Sycamore, Alain and Mairin all came up together.

    “What’s happening now for you, Alain?”

    A rare smile was spread wide on his face. He chuckled to himself before speaking. “I’m going back to work for Professor Sycamore. I want to help understand Mega Evolution more. In the meantime…” He raised his wrist. The absence of the Mega Ring struck Ash instantly. “I’ll take a break from this.”

    “Well thank you, Alain. You really deserved to win the Kalos League.”

    “-But not anywhere else. You beat me in all other forms, Ash. Friendship, bravery, sacrifice, determination… You really have it all.” The boys shook hands and the girls hugged. The group left in a car, leaving only one pair of people left. Diantha and Steven stood in front of them.

    “We both are busy, but some things need appreciation.” Steven looked to Diantha to continue.

    “We are both champions of our own regions. Yet, we couldn’t have done what you all did in the past week. For this, we thank you.”

    Ash and co. smirked. “It was needed.”

    Eventually, the two champions said their own goodbyes and left. The thought of saying goodbye to the whole region and each then dawned in Ash and Serena’s minds.

    They were meant to be at the airport, but they were intercepted by Squishy after dropping Goodra off in the wetlands. He led them to Z2, and together, they revealed the importance of Ash’s Greninja, and how he would be of use to them against the damaged world. Ash’s head was currently staring through the earth. Hearing that Greninja had to leave him was a bit of a shock. But he knew it was for the best. He looked at Greninja, who nodded. Both reached out their hands for a handshake, but ditched the option and dove in for the hug. While they were in an embrace, Bonnie spoke to Squishy.

    “Squishy, will I ever see you again?”

    “We will, Bonnie. You’re my friend, and you’re the reason the world was saved. It’d be an honour to see you again.” Bonnie, like usual, was crying. After even more goodbyes, the group left for the airport, where they would ultimately say their goodbyes and split up towards their own destinies.

    Serena’s plane was close to leaving, and she was the first to say goodbye. She hugged Bonnie and sadly said goodbye to Ash and Clemont.

    “This… This journey, was amazing. I thank you all for it.” The siblings and Ash grinned. “I’m going to Hoenn to challenge myself, like all of you are doing. You’ve all supported me, and I can ever repay you for that. I know you’ll all succeed, and you deserve to. And I guess… It’s time to go.” She turned to hide her emotions and ran down the escalator. However, she paused at the bottom. She thought briefly, and turned. “Ash, I have something to tell you!” She darted back up the same escalator against the moving stairs. She got to the top and leaned her face forward, kissing Ash. The escalator carried her back down; her face flooded with the red of embarrassment. Bonnie celebrated in the background, while Ash and Clemont lost the colour in their faces and eyes. Ash recovered quickly though, and yelled out gleefully. “Goodbye, Serena. I know you’ll do amazing!”

    And with that, there were three.

    You are the main female companion to accompany Ash in the Kalos region. You are a Showcase performer, and almost became Kalos Queen. However, you narrowly lost to Aria. At the end of the series, you’re going to Hoenn to compete in Pokémon Contests.

    You are very popular in Kalos, and everyone loves your performances. Because of this, you are the Kalos Heroes’ Loved Beloved Princess. At the start of each day phase, you will begin with (-1) votes. This won’t be publicly pointed out, but it may be noticed in vote count totals. You will need at least two votes before appearing on the count. Additionally, when you are killed, the Heroes will mourn your loss and whatever phase you were killed in will be skipped when it next appears.

    You are aligned with the Kalos Heroes, and win when you have eliminated all of Team Flare.

    Pikochu survived to endgame. They were a Loved Beloved Princess, and was aligned with the Kalos Heroes.

    Ash turned to Clemont. “I think there’s only one way to say goodbye.”

    Ash and Clemont had finished up their battle, and were waiting for Ash’s plane to be called.

    “Airplane from Lumiose to Kanto, now boarding.”

    The sound of the loudspeaker was heartbreaking music for Ash. He now had to say goodbye to his first two friends in the Kalos region. “Well, this is me.” They followed Ash out to the plane, halting about 20 metres away from the stairs. Ash turned and faced them. “I don’t know how to thank you guys…”

    “There’s no need. We know what we are thinking.” Ash and Clemont shook hands, before pulling in for a hug.

    “Guys hug weirdly…” Bonnie couldn’t help herself.

    “Bonnie…” Clemont was at least glad his little sister wasn’t asking Ash to marry him.

    “Good luck, Clemont and Bonnie. We’ll see each other again.”

    “I’m going to become an awesome trainer, just like you, Ash!” Clemont rolled his eyes and mumbled.

    “Good to see I’m such a role model.”

    Ash laughed. “I look forward to it.”

    He twisted and walked towards the plane. He walked strode up the stairs and stopped at the top to wave. The others waved back and called out, “Goodbye, Ash!”

    “Goodbye!”

    He thought to himself, Until the day we meet again.

    THE XY&Z MAFIA HAS FINISHED. THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO PLAYED AND MADE IT AWESOME TO WATCH.

    The town just won in a very tight finish, but I really have to commend @Olive on somehow surviving Day 1 whilst being on the lynch table, then becoming one of the most townread players and taking it from 11:1 to 2:1 at the end and almost sealing the win. And they did it in the craziest way possible. It was a great performance.
