TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997 - 2010 Vol. 2

Re: Even more BGM is being released

I'm excited for the tracklist and all, but... could the names be any more uncreative? :/

Re: Even more BGM is being released

They aren't the full track names, though. We probably won't get those until the CD is actually out.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Ah, I suppose you have a point. The first volume had similar names at first.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

I can't believe it.
This is a dream come true.

I have seriously had daydreams (and actual dreams) about this tracklist, guys, and this has me ecstatic. Back when Vol. 1 came out, I organized all the listed M-numbers from that set, then jotted down all the gaps. I've just gone through the Vol. 2 tracklist with my notes as reference, and the only pieces that appear to be missing are the following:

Kanto M33 (assuming M33A is an alternate and not a stand-alone)
Kanto M65 (assuming the same about M65A)
Kanto M69A (assuming the same about M65B)
Kanto M76 (assuming the same about M76A)
Johto M30

And hopefully an explanation about at least the last one will be found somewhere in the booklet. But if not... oh well... It's probably something really unknown that even they couldn't find anymore.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Funny how DP apparently only had 12 BGM made for the TV show INCLUDING the title screen BGM and the eyecatch BGM
I really thought we had much more BGM than that, but if it's really all the BGM (or at least very close to it, cause apparently we're still missing some) then it's great
Now let's hope they'll release another CD or two with all the made for movies BGM and maybe even throw there as bonus all "other" music (MD eps, Ranger eps, forgotten made-for-TV and game music, etc)

Re: Even more BGM is being released

I don't know if this is posted elsewhere, but the J-Pop Exchange has an audio interview with Shinji Miyazaki, the man himself.

Also, you can listen to two full tracks on this page, one being from the upcoming CD, the other being an unreleased alternate for the AG track Across The Sea from Vol. 1. The former confirms that Vol. 2 will contain the piece of music heard in AG episode 1, when Satoshi is carrying an ailing Pikachu up a cliffside by rope, and Pikachu bites him.

This is awesome stuff!! It also brings up an interesting idea: would Miyazaki be willing to post the remaining unreleased pieces of music online?

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Great find! I absolutely love the two tracks that were put up. Really can't wait for the CD set now.

I kinda doubt more tracks will be put up since this is probably just for promotion, but I'll be crossing my fingers I'm wrong.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Is it weak of me that I shed tears from that first song?

Great, now I need to get the Pokemon CD AND Shinji's new album.

Oh shizz... that's also the music that played in the Japanese version after Ash lost to Brawly and he was at the Pokemon Center and he snapped at his friends. And that scene in episode 1 of AG is put into a new light now.

And oh snap. I got to hear Shinji Miyazaki's voice... talking in English, nonetheless.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Hee hee~ guess who got his copy in the mail today?

As I was expecting, the official tracklist consists only of M-numbers, but I've gone ahead and identified what I could (which isn't saying much in the case of AG and DP, seeing as how I've watched very little of those two series), using my own fan-given titles from my site. Tracks not found on any other CD are in bold. "SAC" stands for the Sound Anime Collection, "Polka" stands for the Polka-O-Dolka CD, "Together" stands for the Together/Kimi No Soba De CD, and "Genki" stands for the Genki! Ippai!! CD. (And by the way, this set pretty much renders ol' "Genki" useless, lol)
Also as I was expecting, this set is not quite complete. Let me reiterate that there's NO MOVIE MUSIC on this set. It's only stuff composed specifically for the TV series... however, I do find it odd that a few pieces I thought would be shoo-ins aren't present. For example, it's missing Ballet Of The Water Flowers, the theme that first plays in Kanto episode 7 when Kasumi's sisters are doing that water ballet, as well as The Top Of The Rock, a piano piece used in the surfing Pikachu episode. And dammit all to hell, the "island flute" music from the Birth of Mewtwo radio drama that I've been pining after since day 1 is still absent! (But then again, that wasn't composed for the TV series at all, was it?) Nuts.

Maybe I'm wrong, but is the Team Rocket Sinnoh theme missing? I'm not seeing it...

I've seen very, very little of Diamond & Pearl, so I don't know what that piece sounds like, but if it's their motto theme, I'm sure it's on there. Disc 2: track 42 sounds like it could fit a Rocket motto.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

How do people living outside of Japan get the CD before I do? :(

Oh well. I'll just pick it up after work.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Is anyone going to post these tracks on Youtube? I can't wait any longer!

Re: Even more BGM is being released

If they do they shouldn't be posted here since anyone can easily buy the CD.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Wait, the soundtrack has the title card music for the Diamond & Pearl series? That just made my day.

Re: Even more BGM is being released

Are there any remixes from the game like the first installment?

Re: Even more BGM is being released

All the game remixes were in the first CDs. This one has original anime music only.
