Did you manage to watch anymore of HxH? It's definitely a lot to watch, but the first arc is not representative of the rest of the series imo. After that, it's great. Quickly became one of my favorite anime of all time.
 
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie

Gotta say, I love this new Major.
Still haven't figured out how this movie sits with the rest of the series though.
