The announcement will also be up on Pokémon.com on the 8th (at presumably the exact same time as the Japanese announcement).

I forgot, was Pokemon Black and White (the announcement of the titles) a simultaneous announcement on both Pokemon.co.jp and Pokemon.com?

Anyway, the fact this announcement will apparently be both aimed at the English and Japanese community makes my earlier assumption of a Nintendo Direct being uploaded to introduce the games a stronger possibility, since it looks like the news will be distributed online as opposed to via CoroCoro or a television announcement.

Reshiram and Zekrom were simultaneous, at the very least.

Oh man! Then this definitely means there is gonna b a new main series game coming out! Why else would all the sites be talking about it? I am so ready for a new generation, especially if its on the 3DS!!!!!

This explains why TPCi was recently forthcoming about Game Freak developing 3DS games that aren't remakes.

They (and virtually any company with foresight) do that to prevent what's known as cybersquatting. People buy out mass amounts of domain names for cheap in the hopes that one of them will be needed by a company, they then would have to pay a pretty hefty amount of cash to get that desired domain name. Even if they have a like 0.02% chance of ever use that name it's a wise option to get it anyway because it's so cheap to do and saves so much trouble should, however unlikely, that 0.02% become 100%.

It will definitely be on the 3DS. There's no way Nintendo would let GameFreak get away with a DS game now xD

Well if I wasn't excited before, I certainly am now....

This really is my favorite part of the whole process of a New Generation. Everything seems so mysterious and unknown right before its announced, the Pre- B/W period was what got me through Summer 2010 tbh. Its so much fun discovering new Pokemon and waiting up all night to see if Corocoro leaked, speculating on what the game will contain.... Can't wait for it to begin!

They could reveal one or both of the version mascots as a nice homage to Ho-Oh being the first Generation II Pokémon to be revealed. That, and the simultaneous announcements that we've had so far have involved version mascots (Zekrom, Reshiram and the Kyurem Formes).

I don't see them revealing the Movie 16 star as the movie isn't going to be relevant to the rest of the world for some time.

I kind of hope they have been trademarking names in super secret or something cause I find none of those pre-trademarked colors any attractive, haha.

I have a feeling it will be new Pokemon, but then again.. they don't have to follow any kind of "tradition" so there is no way to know. Hell, all I know is that this is going to be good.

They better have at least 120+ pokemon this Gen, I'm not here for them revealing 30+ for hype, then having 14 of the remaining Pokemon be Legendaries....

Though it will be quite interesting since this Gen, they'll be able to keep any Event Pokemon they choose to reveal a secret. So even though they're from the same Gen, it's like we'll be getting New Pokemon for the next few years.

They almost certainly trademarked the titles under an alias, as they've done many times before.

Never said the movie star, and that's exactly the one(s) I meant. The reveals of BW2 have all been with the mascots, so I don't see it changing here either.

Those colors, other than Black and White, were...

Gray
Brown
Orange
Purple
Crimson
Scarlet

Right? Hmm.. Red and purple Genesects in the next movie... Crimson and Purple versions... Nah, that's too tight even for my tinfoil hat.
