Official Pre-Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield Speculation & Leaks thread

How young are the youngest people reading these threads? Seems strange that kids would be left alone on an internet forum, but then again I used to explore Bulbagarden forums as a child.
The bigger picture is that 4chan is like 50% porn, so letting kids acsess that unknowingly is definitely not gonna fly.

Not this thread specifically, but there are very young people on the forums just reading and clicking whatever.

Until the real artist comes forward and confirms that they made them, I'm not going to completely write them off. The whole ordeal with the Alolan starters has taught me that just because a huge chunk of the fandom personally thinks they're fake doesn't mean that they are.
Eloquently stated Wallflower! As the situation currently resides, our only infalliable information regarding the upcoming switch title(s) is that they are in development, and that a 2018-2019 release window has been tentatively accrued to said unrevealed switch project. As a whole, our remaining tidbits of information are dodgey at best, yet still in consideration until proven true, or but a fairy tale. On a personal note, I rather find the firey ophidian to be most charming! :D

Those games were made by Genius Sonority, not Game Freak.

Even still, they are Pokémon games in the series which don’t have dual versions.

If Zelda could remove having three save files in BOTW, an element that has been iconic to the main series, it’s def possible that we can have a Pokémon game with just one version. It’s not entirely improbable.

But that Fire starter doesn't look very marketable with half its body submerged.
Perhaps, good Riley, if it were to be in factual existence, relative to an eighth generation, any potential products could feature the adorable creature in it's entirety. While it may well spend it's greater duration of time burrowing, perhaps it's full, fabulous figure could be just as common a sight! At the very least, designs which have yet to be fully dismissed send our imaginations sailing aboard the vessel of alternative probability! ^_^

Guys, can you see the yellow shadow in this frame? It looks like it could be Zeraora...but it's huge. Maybe Lugia but...yellow :/ Or maybe it's nothing. Probably nothing. Definitively nothing.

Colosseum and XD are spinoffs. They are not main series games because they are not made by Game Freak.

I thought it was an off-color cloud.

Too big to be Zeraora.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its a cloud that's lit from behind with spooky lighting- Zeraora could theoretically be the cause of it, though?

Even still we can’t dismiss it entirely especially just having had a generation that has shattered most standard expectations and patterns for Pokémon.

What.... is that?...
Well, people seem to trying to run from it in that shot
Edit 2: or get away from it....

I wouldn't be suprised if it got a new form
"And what is the identity of the Phantom Pokemon Zeraora? "
Redirect Notice

Watch the trailer and you will see it is just a weirdly colored dust cloud.

Its probbably Zeraora not Lugia making the cloud. I guess the cat thing might be the villain ...

But Zeraora electricity is kinda blue...shouldn't the cloud be blue and not yellow? Unless it's its actual body glowing...

Okay, so, analyzing these three compared to Sugimori artwork.

From what I can tell, Sugimori uses a soft, low opacity brush for the shading, applying it at least twice- resulting in that lighter streak of color around the shaded areas.

My attempt at replicating it on top of Rowlet's official artwork- Screenshot
The starter artist's attempt at replicating it on their starters- Screenshot

You can see that the starter artist's lighter streak between the shaded and unshaded portions is a lot sharper and more defined than Sugimori's double brushing. If you look at them all closely, they actually appear to be more cel-shaded than airbrushed.

Even still we can’t dismiss it entirely especially just having had a generation that has shattered most standard expectations and patterns for Pokémon.
While it's true that Gen 7 broke a number of patterns, I think it's safe to say that spinoff games from several years ago made by a different group are not a good indicator of what Game Freak will do in the future.
If Zelda could remove having three save files in BOTW, an element that has been iconic to the main series,
Wasn't that because the Switch can store even more save files? Change doesn't happen just to shake things up, there's usually reason behind it.
