Wait, if the switch requires an online subscription to do anything online, won''t gen 8 have the same issue by default?

But you still have to pay a subscription, that's still rather bogus. But they’ll actually have standard features like GTS, Battle Spot and Wonder Trade.

How do the transfers take place between Pokémon GO and LGPE? I hope it’s not through internet online.... *groan*
I feel the same way. While I don't use those features a whole lot either, I prefer they stay around for people who do.
I think we shouldnt define LGPE as a casual oriented game before we have more concluding info. Yes, it seems likely that they are streamlining some aspects like catching Pokemon, and EVs/ IVs to make them more acessible for Go players (casuals). But we shouldnt take this as a sign that they will streamline all other core aspects of Pokemon games as well.
It's not like they are gone forever. As I have already stated, the proper RPG game is released next year. This is a game intended to ease new players/GO players into the main game series. Plus, you don't even know if more Pokémon will be available later on, or if this is the first of a new series of games, with the next one bringing in Gen II Pokémon, etc. So if I were you, I'd keep that specific complaint to a minimum, until after we have more information on what is actually happening here.
They remove 90% of the roster for every generation. This isn't new.Wait
So we shouldn't complain because they're gonna release £60 games with the other rosters? that's a lot of expensive DLC.
I don't recall people complaining about roster removal at any of those points, and I've been with the franchise since the beginning.
So am I. I'm in my mid 20s. I've played literally every game. You don't remember the rampant hatred for gen 3 for not having Kanto Pokemon, or the rampant hatred for gen 5 removing all but the dudes from gen 5? gen 3 was the most hated for a long time till gen 5 arrived and it was cool to hate on gen 3/5 whilst loving the rest. To this day people still hate on gen 5 even though IMO it's the best gen
They still wernet "removed" though. If you tried hard enough you could get the others into the game easily. I don't really care about having everything during the story, cuz the other games let you migrate over and get everything. I like to use new dudes in the story. If this game was "only 151 during the story, you can get the other 700 later" then cool, but it's not. And paying full price for 7 more games to fill the roster doesn't count lmfao
Gen 5 was despised. So much so they releases the sequel and tripled the dex to shut people up and have spammed Kanto since
So what's the big deal?
Meh. I bought Sapphire, LeafGreen, and Colosseum. So why not?If you're fine with buying 7 Lets Go games to get the full roster then that's fine
these games are effectively functioning as remakes of Yellow with features from GO, and many of the people who initially picked up Pokemon Go (excluding fans like myself/others who have been keeping up with every game) may not have played since Gen 1, I feel like they wanted to keep things more simplistic and familiar for that audience.
Lacks GTS? Another point in the spinoff column.
