I'm more concerned about there being a completely made-up character in there than I was about most of these already being named. Side note, and not that I'd expect you to do this, but I'm trusting you not to try to slip any made-up characters past me and please don't try to. You'd probably be able to given the insane amount of unique characters in Pokemon, it would look very silly for everyone, and I wouldn't be too thrilled about it to say the least.

I see what you mean. It is true that there are a looooot of one-note characters in PLA, some of them being seen only once or twice in PLA's Missions/Requests list, so just in case I'll heed the warning and try to stick to the names we see more often like Zeke and Wanda for example, for simplicity's sake. Thanks for the heads-up !

so far on social media (mostly tumblr) tealmaskshipping has been very widely adopted for florian & kieran. as far as i know no widely used ship name for kieran & juliana has been decided on yet but i've seen a couple of blogs on there start using the dipplinshipping name for them.

It's great to see you back! You make a great point about the Shauna/Emma ship name where it's true we have no way of knowing what the original namer's thought process was, and I feel a bit bad now I focused the discussion so much on that one ship when it was more of just a general kickoff for some thoughts. (I'll probably still be using my own name for them, but that's the vibe with small ships these days anyways it seems.)

These are both on purpose! If you look a bit back in this thread, you find this:

FallerShipping is a bit more special because the pairing was previously accepted as ChiefShipping in one of the final Gen 7 updates (very early in Gen 7 at that) and the Faller name came to prominence later. My comments on the issue at the time are here and here, but the short version is that due to the very strong usage for Faller as Looker x Anabel, the duplicate would be added

Also, in regards to the update, I noticed some things as I looked through the list:

• both Eri/Mela and Mela/Eri have ship names (Estrellar and FightyFire, respectively); which is the correct one?
• same deal with Katy/Saguaro (SecretSweets) and Saguaro/Katy (Delicateses)
• is Dendra misspelled in some entries as Kendra? Bc I know that's her Spanish name, but we typically call characters by their English names. And if it's meant to refer to a different character named Kendra, then I can't find out who said character is or where they came from. Affected ships: LavenderWivesShipping -- Kendra, Miriam, & Tulip | SaguadraShipping -- Saguaro & Kendra | MirdraShipping -- Kendra & Miriam | TuldraShipping -- Kendra & Tulip (and if indeed this is a misspelled Dendra, then for these last 2, Dendra/Miriam & Dendra/Tulip have other ship names listed in this update as well, HealthySandwich & WingChun respectively). Also, with a lot of these, it seems like these are portmanteau ship names, which is what makes me think that this "Kendra" is supposed to be "Dendra", fwiw.

Also, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled if one of your Lacey crackships that you want to name is Lacey/Mela, as that's risen to be my crackship of choice for her (and I'll probably eventually end up naming it myself if nobody else does XP). I'm also fond of Juliana/Lacey, but I suppose that's not exactly a crackship XD (also, has anyone else seen Lacey's dialogue in the League Club room about Kieran? bc it definitely got an eyebrow raise from me XDD)

It seems like the Kendra names all originated from Shadechu. I'm not sure if it was a a localized name, a persistent typo, or something else, but you are correct, it looks like the character name is outright wrong. I anticipate all of these names (or at least the two in conflict) will be removed in the next update. I'd welcome any comments from Shadechu about it before then. I'll be honest, I saw the name so many times that I just assumed Kendra was a character I missed somewhere. Thanks again for pointing it out!

Good to know about which are the proper ship names (and I'm happy that the better ones, imo, are the ones that made it through XP)!

Yeah....I genuinely tried to find a Pokemon character named Kendra, on the off-chance that I was wrong about feeling like there was a typo at play here. At best, the only things that came up were Dendra's page (bc, as mentioned, Kendra is her Spanish name, but this just further solidified my gut feeling in this case), and a few random NPC trainers that you could face in places like the Battle Tower in gen 3, and the like. But none of that seemed to add up to the kind of characters that get ships on the official list, particularly with the ships in question (as even if Kendra was some minor character from some part of the canon that I overlooked, "LavenderWives", for instance, is a ship name that only really would make sense if it was for Dendra/Miriam/Tulip, you know?), so I was really at a loss. XD But I'm by no means an expert on all characters from the far-flung corners of the franchise, which was why I brought it to your attention, and was willing to stand corrected if it was proven that Kendra was indeed a real and separate character from Dendra. XD

Noice, lol! Kindly pardon me for that little mishap, I guess I didn't see through the list enough to find that Crispin x Lacey was already added. Probably because the ship list is already as detailed as it is, and I thought that DLC ships of Indigo Disk would get another "mass deferral" of sorts...

Good day and thanks for pointing out this issue fom my part. Yes, every time i wrote "Kendra", i was referring to Dendra. I guess i got confused with her englishname (Dendra) and her hispanic name (Kendra) because of only 1 letter being different!

LavenderWivesShipping was supposed to be Tulip x Dendra x Miriam! The same goes for Tuldra(shipping) and Mirdra(shipping)… I think someone else suggested the Saguadra one, tho.

I apologize for all the misunderstanding!

What about Roy x Liko being NewHorizonShipping? If i remember right, there is already a shipping called "HorizonShipping" (i think this was for… Brawly & Falkner? Lol) and i doubt writing Roy/Liko as "HorizonsShipping" could make it less confusing… so, i support the alternative of Roy x Liko being called NewHorizonShipping.d

I don't know if it was mentioned before: but i've seen Liko x Dot being called GuruminShipping.

FreedExplorershipping for Friede x Amethio

Aiboushipping was used for Liko x Ann.

After discovering the origin of the BRAVE Asagi being an idea/creation from both, Friede and Orio: BraveAsagiShipping could work a lot for them

CapnCrunchShipping has been used for Friede x Murdock

Returning to Paldean/SV stuff: I don't know if more options were suggested (due to how "disliked" the ship is) but Drayton x Carmine has been shared under the Dragroseilleshipping hashtag in Twitter (X)

And considering how unpopular are some of the ships mentioned by M.DO, i wonder if they will be added, like:

was looking at the shipping list at large just now, and i've found what seems to be another discrepancy. i can't remember if i've ever brought it to someone else's attention before, but i figured i might as well go ahead in case i haven't, as even if i did, the discrepancy remains after the update.

i found these two entries:
