I think the movie has made some people lose it

To me it sounds like the idea was brought in the early stages of production during brainstorming and then realized it was not feasible for several reason(can be how expensive it would be considering Iris,Dawn and Cilan have famous VA's, May's Va being sick, too much characters to handle,etc)

What do you mean? Nowhere un Shudo's movies is show what plus he left in Johto so it doesn't matter.

This movie makes clear the Pokemon anime and Ash are more similar to cape comics than a normal anime.

Why are you dissmising the opinion of people who actually watched and liked the movie then?
