That’s not what focus is at all. Focus is about who the story follows not merely about the importance to the plot. A character can be important to the plot in the sense that they set it into motion, but that doesn’t mean that the story is about them. Ash may have set the episode’s plot in motion...
The episode was about Pikachu reaffirming it’s relationship with Ash. Ash may have been given a lesson but that wasn’t the focus of the episode to the degree that said lesson was completely offscreen. If this episode had been about Ash, it would have followed either his perspective or swapped...
Episode 30 was Pikachu focused. It literally followed Pikachu the entire time. Simply because Ash was the catalyst of the episode’s conflict does not make it an Ash episode.
That’s a false equivalence. Not only are you the one who claimed that episode 30 was an Ash episode but episode 54 hasn’t even aired yet so you can’t say to what degree Go is involved.
I feel like you’re reaching when it comes to the prospect of that Ash would be a Pokémon Master by winning the PWC considering they’ve flat out had Ash make the statement that even winning this would only be a step towards becoming a Pokémon Master. Also, Go isn’t going to become the lead of the...
Not really honestly. Even if he is Alola’s first, Ash is only the league champion. By other regions’ standard, that would only place him at ‘able to challenge the Elite 4’ standing. He’s not quite at Cynthia/Alder/Diantha/Leon standing yet.
I’m sure that Wikstrom will be represented as a strong opponent especially since the anime has never disrespected the Elite 4. XY did do something unprecedented within the anime by allowing one to be beaten though so it’ll be interesting to see how Ash’s battle is handled.
