Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining me here today.
For those who are still blissfully unaware, the vigilantic killer known as Kira has been killing criminals around the world for weeks, and we've brought you together - some of the greatest investigative minds the Japanese natiolnal police force has to offer - to track him down.
But we've narrowed the playing field for you. I have reason to believe that Kira themselves is actually among us, along with some of their most trusted associates. It's your job to track them down and stop them from ever doing this again.
But I warn you now: if we don't succeed here, the world may not have another chance to stop Kira's cult. It's all up to you.

After ExLight changed their mind at the last moment, Kyriaki's fate was sealed.
Stepping towards the notebook in the center of the room, ExLight wrote some words inside, then turned to face the group, "Kyriaki will be dead by morning."
Everyone returned to their places of sleeping, with the exception of Kyriaki, who sat there, stunned.
With no other ideas left on how to get out of it, he chose to drink.
Taking anything and everything he could find off the shelves in the large apartment, Kyriaki began to drink.
And drink.
And drink.
Until that did him in.

Kyriaki was Raye Penber, the Town Follower!

One by one becoming aware of their mistake, the team fell into a fitful sleep, hoping that the American had died for a good reason.

Long after everyone went to bed, Ereshkigal woke up in a cold sweat. Something didn't feel right.
Sneaking out of the apartment, undetected by all, he went to start up his car. He knew where he needed to go.
And so he started driving, but as he went the rain got worse and worse. He could barely see in front of him, but he continued to push forward.
Then in his headlights, a figure appeared. Slamming the brakes and turning to the side, Ereshkigal realized in his last moments that he was on a bridge... just as he careened off and into the water.
His body was found the next morning, and everyone else learned about it on the news, during breakfast.
@Ereshkigal is dead. They were Shuichi Aizawa, the Town Flavor Deputy!

As soon as the day began, one member of the team turned to the one they called Oricorio.
"It's him," he breathed quietly, "He's not one of us."
Quickly, the rest of the team surrounded Oricorio as ExLight went for the book.
Suddenly, Oricorio began to laugh, stopping everyone in their tracks.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Why not?"
"Do you think those books really work on me and my kind?"
Suddenly, it became clear to everyone that Oricorio was not, in fact, human. Large, black wings grew from his back, and his face, while expressive, still felt almost... dead.
"You... you're"
He sat in the middle of the group, munching on an apple and laughing, "Humans are so... interesting."

@Oricorio was Ryuk, the Mafia-Aligned God of Death!
As a Death God cannot be killed, Oricorio will be allowed to continue speaking in this game. However, as his alignment has been revealed, his vote holds no sway. His reveal counts towards the town win condition (think of him like a mafia-aligned Restless Spirit).

As the morning comes in, everyone approaches the dining room for breakfast. Each one counts up, surprised to see that everyone is still alive. Together, they sit down at the table and begin to eat, casting strange glances at one another. The room feels on the edge of a full blown warzone... when someone screams.
Officer Snake lurches forward, grasping at his chest. He falls forward onto the table, face in his pancakes, unmoving
Someone sitting next to him puts a hand to his wrist and checks.
Snake's heart has stopped.

After everyone went to bed, Jinjo completed his goal for the night and climbed up to the roof to look out at the city at night. It calmed him some, and he needed it; all this Kira stuff was getting to be a little too much to handle.
He began to think about everything. How they'd killed Aizawa without reason or hesitation. How he had even become suspicious of his own son... this had to end.
Jinjo walked closer to the edge of the building, taking a deep breath of the evening air...
And fell.

The next morning, the rest of the group found Jinjo on the ground outside the building.
Jinjo was killed last night. They were Soichiro Yagami, the Town Flavor Cop!

Max1996 had been the first one to find Chief Yagami's body, which was immediately suspect. Thinking back, he'd been the first to find Aizawa as well. The more they thought, the more they began to realize that the one they called Max was truly Kira. Upon hearing that, however, he sprinted out the door and outside. He knew where Kira was. He was close by. He ran to a house across the street.
"This should be where Kira lives..." he muttered.
As he reached out to grab the doorknob, he felt a sudden pain in his chest.
"W-What the..." he muttered, clutching it. "T-This is...damn you...Kira..."
Max1996 died before his body hit the ground.

Max is dead, he was Hirokazu Ukita, the Ambulance Chaser!

jdthebud shook his head, "You fools... he was innocent."
Space stared at the dead body, shocked to see another of his friends dead. How much longer could this go on?
He turned to jdthebud. Someone had said that he'd been evil... that he looked guilty. And he believed it.
Space looked down at the gun in his hand. He hated guns. He acted like he wanted to be cool, but in reality he didn't ever think he'd be able to shoot one.
But just... just this once...
Kill. I have to kill this guy...

BANG!
The street went silent at the bang of the gun. Slowly, everyone turned to face the sound, only to see jdthebud on the ground, a bullet buried in his chest.
jd looked down, shocked. Who...?
"You..." Space breathed shakily, "You drove your own father to his death... now you're trying to turn it the other way around, saying they are the fools who got tricked?"
Horrified, jd looked around, his eyes landing on Oricorio sitting behind the group, looming over them, "Ryuk..." a grin appeared on his face, "yeah, Ryuk, you should write their names in your notebook!"
The shinigami, for once, didn't laugh. He simply stared, disappointed.
"You could overcome this situation. That was my expectation. Turns out, you had to depend on me," he cracked a sinister smile, 'You're done for."
jdthebud was Light Yagami, the Mafia Ninja!

Bored of living an eternity of nothingness in the Shinigami realm, you came to the human realm for a little fun. Dropping your Death Note, it entered the hands of jdthebud, and you began following him, to watch the events unfold. To your surprise, another Death Note found its way into the hands of Kira fangirl Feenie, who also joined his cause.

jdthebud thinks that he’s in charge, but in reality you’re the mind behind the whole thing. You’re the reason this whole thing came about, and when the time comes, you’re going to be the one to take his life. Because of that, you are the Godfather.

As a god of death, you can’t actually be killed by humans. However, when they try to kill you, they’ll realize what (and who) you are. You will be revealed as Ryuk, the Godfather, but will not actually die. However, your words will no longer have meaning, and you will be rendered voteless, but with one exception:

You can win in two ways. The first is if the mafia end up as a majority of the remaining players. The second is by being the final vote on jdthebud’s wagon before he’s lynched. That is the only time you can vote after you have been revealed to the town. After that, you will have completed your little game and will depart to the Shinigami realm with your Death Note.

You are unable to win on your own. If both jdthebud and Feenie die, then you will also leave the human realm, though without that win. So be careful.

Making the trade for Shinigami eyes with your newfound partner, you learned that Kira was actually jdthebud, and went to confront him. The two of you became a couple, and along with his Shinigami Oricorio, you work to purge the world of evil.

As I've said before, this game is a remake of a game I ran on ZD, except moved to Role Madness.
My original concept for this game spawned from the creation of Ryuk as a role. He was the main driving force in designing this game. I thought it made sense for Ryuk to work alongside Light, but in the end he really is on his own side and can win third party if he wishes to. It would be super easy for Ryuk to cheese his way into that Lyncher win, so props to Oricorio for playing it fair!
The first time through was a sweep by the mafia. Great game, and I love reading through it, but with the remake I decided to give the town a little more power.
For the most part, this game's setup was very similar to the first, with a few exceptions:

• Misa originally was secret-hated (Shinigami Eyes halving your life and all that). With the added Town Roles, I felt like we should take that away, even as a minor thing.
• Originally, L's "Gambit" ability would take place the same night instead of the next day, so there was a cutoff within the night phase itself as to when a Gambit could be decided on.
• Mogi, Ide, Aizawa, Ukita, Penber and Misora were all originally VTs.

I love Role Madness games, and wanted to get rid of all the Vanilla Townies I possibly could.
Since most of the characters in this game are either detectives or FBI agents, I felt like it would only be right to have a game with mostly investigative roles - which was rough to balance. Originally, it was just the Rolecop, Detective and Flavor Cop, and honestly that was probably best.
I felt like adding both a tracker and a watcher to this already pretty balanced setup would be a little too much, and I was running out of role ideas, so I crafted what was more or less a Miller for Trackers and Watchers (the Ambulance Chaser; sorry Max!) I kinda felt bad for doing it once the game was in full swing, but at least I tried it.
Interestingly, until the whole kerfuffle with Max on the last day, the new roles didn't have any affect on the game. The roleblocker only blocked new roles; the follower and flavor deputy were killed before they could do anything; the watcher only used his ability on the last night; the bulletproof townie was never targeted for a kill... really it may as well have been the original setup until right there at the end.
Jinjo, I have no idea how you got that lucky, but good work finding most of the scumteam on your own
Sadly, we didn't get a chance to use L's gambit ability this game (he tried once, but Snake died during that same phase). In two games it's only been successfully used once.
Also, the dead were yelling at you all for not realizing that Jinjo was a flavor cop after Eresh's flip

As a whole, I feel like the setup was a tad town-leaning, but that leaning didn't affect the outcome of the game imo. Thanks for playing everyone!
