How good is Azumarill?

Id say yes, especially with his new typing, he is a notorious Dragon destroyer. He's also another Fairy who doesn't get owned by Steel-type moves since he's part Water. With a Choice Band and Huge Power, his attack skyrockets to very dangerous levels, letting him destroy almost anything not defensive that doesn't resist his STAB Waterfall or Play Rough. Not to mention he gets Aqua Jet as an egg move and learns Superpower on the regular. With Special Defensive tanks like Goodra running around, he shuts that down easily. He also can get Belly Drum as an alternative, giving you freedom to move around if you wanna go that route. All in all, id recommend him.

Azumarill is indeed fantastic but you do always have to keep Crawdaunt in mind when thinking about using it. Crawdaunt has more power and a better offensive typing than Azumarill, and it has Knock Off to provide utility that Azumarill can't. Azumarill lacks the raw power of Crawdaunt when it runs a Choice Band set and lacks bulk when it runs BD, but it's better defensive typing and stats gives it a better shot to sweep. If you want a wallbreaker, use Crawdaunt, as his higher power and ability to shut down Lefties/Eviolite dependent mons is invaluable. if you want a sweeper, use Azumarill as it can take a Special hit unlike Crawdaunt.

Azumarill's sheer destructive power comes from knowing both Belly Drum and Aqua Jet. Getting up to +6 in a single turn and having fairly strong priority is every sweeper's dream.

I believe that there are better physical water types out there. I think that Azumarill will be better once we get access to a physical Fairy move considering that every Fairy move is either Special or a Status move.

Um. Play Rough? the one that Azumarill does get?

That's not the only reason it's good; if it were, the Choice Band set wouldn't exist. A Pokémon can't expect to be good just for the formidable combo of Belly Drum + priority; Linoone gets Belly Drum + STAB Extreme Speed, and it still wallows in NU in Gens IV and V (and mostly likely will continue to wallow there in VI). Several things help Azumarill make full use of this "sweeper's dream": its good overall bulk, its Water/Fairy typing, and of course, Huge Power to really put +6 STAB Aqua Jet over the edge.

It also helps that Aqua Jet doesn't have any immunities besides Abilities and that Fairy + Water is only resisted in OU by Ferrothorn, Tentacruel, Venusaur, and the occasional Victreebel, Amoongus or Roserade.

Yes, it's stupidly annoyingly good -_-" Belly Dance + Sitrus Berry + Aqua jet is devastating, particularly on rain teams..
