Review JN082: Mawhip's Sweet Battle!?

Poor Opal, though... Or whoever had to clean the toxic waste site that Pikachu turned the Gym's bathroom into.

Actually, he wouldn't even fit into the bathroom, would he? That means... Oh god... How long was the time skip between those two shots? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we didn't get to see the cleanup, but I sure do hope someone had a Dynamax Muk.
I don't think that's what happened.

Well then, where did it all go? Huh?

Ok it probably just disappeared after the battle like all of the cream that didn't land in Pikachu's mouth, otherwise the whole Gym would be covered in Cream and require massive amounts of cleanup every time Alcremie Gigantamaxes, but... Actually, I'm not sure where I'm going with this, tbh.

How tf did Pikachu not die
For the same reason Team Rocket can be safely blasted into the stratosphere and land on hard ground without even suffering bone fractures. Or heck, the fact that this is a setting where superpowered animals can fight each other while using said superpowers at full force and hardly anything worse than "collapses from exhaustion" ever happens despite the fact that many of these superpowers would be outright lethal in real life.

TL; DR, because cartoon logic

But this... This was a LOT more Graphic than those other things.

I'm not sure how eating a mountain of frosting is inherently more graphic, though. If anything the way it happened here is so over-the-top that it's hard to take it seriously, and it's not an uncommon occurence for shows to depict characters being able to swallow humongous quantities of food in one go without suffering ill effects (the worst they tend to get is a stomachache). And besides, there are plenty of attacks that can get quite violent in execution: take Guillotine for example, which is usually depicted as aiming for the opponent's neck. I mean, just look at this screenshot of Alain's Bisharp using it on Ash's Goodra and try to tell me this wouldn't be out of place in a more violent anime.
