Leak Repository Thread (WARNING: Huge spoilers!)

I highly doubt that the leaker would have mistook a Dark type Gym Leader for a Fairy type Leader. The Gym Leader designs this time around make the type extremely obvious. I think that he just forgot that Valerie existed.
I doubt it. Dark or Fairy, we won't know until we see her revealed, which will probably be when the games come out at this rate.

We still have 3 months to reveal news. Not all the trailers will be like the most recent one.
It seems like the opposite is happening compared with what we had with Sun and Moon. Where instead of getting too much, we are getting too little. But then, so did X and Y, which I hope SwSh doesn't go as incomplete.

At least the Pokemon Online Battling System did hint that the Legendaries will be in Sword and Shield, along with the Fossil Pokemon and the other Starters.

CASUAL BATTLES
In Casual Battles, you can enjoy Pokémon battles without worrying about who wins and who loses. Another noteworthy aspect of Casual Battles is that you can use certain Legendary Pokémon and Mythical Pokémon that are not eligible for Ranked Battles!

Keyword: CERTAIN legendary Pokemon, which can mean Galar Legendaries/Mythical, Mew and Mewtwo. Don't assume stuff if its not confirmed that legendaries will be in the game.

Opal's name also suits a Fairy type specialist more, considering that opals are very vibrant and colorful stones in real life.
It's also an ill omen.

However, there is an Archer Gem in Steven Universe called Opal, the fusion of Pearl and Amethyst.

If the leaker looked at Opal's design (if she actually was a Dark type specialist) I highly doubt that he would mistake her for a Fairy type specialist, especially considering the types of the Gym Leaders are obvious if you look at their designs. That's not a typo. Claiming that Scorbunny will remain "pure fighter" is a typo. This would be spreading misinformation. Also, curses and omens are more the Ghost type's thing, and we already have a Gym Leader for that.

true. Also, Scorbunny looking like a Fighting Type is unlikely at this point, since you only need to look at the color of it's fur. Litten's fur gave away it evolving into a Fire/Dark Type, Popplio a Water/Fairy. However Rowlet was the only one that took us off guard.

One person also made a map of what second typings the Galar Starters may have...

Grookey: Grass/Rock
Scorbunny: Fire/Electric
Sobble: Water/Ice

Ice is strong against Rock, Rock is strong against Electric and Electric is strong against Ice. This'll probably help to even the battlefield for the starters if that's the case.

Rock is not strong against Electric.

@Type Moon I want anything galarian ponyta. Except maybe dark or normal. Because sooooo many of the regionals have been dark it feels like.
Even if there are a lot of Dark-type regionals... I still could go for a Dark Ponyta. Or even just a new Dark horse entirely.

Definitely don't want any Normal horses, though. Talk about boring.

That doesn't even mention fossils or starters.

Opals were originally a symbol of good luck, so it has a history of being both- as do fairies! Fairies have a reputation of being benign and malevolent. So Opal being symbolically good and bad would fit fairies as well, if not better than Dark.

In addition to Rock not being strong against Electric, Water/Ice really doesn't fit Intelleon's theme?

Well... If we go and believe that picture riddle and the leak.

Grookey would evolve into a Gorilla that bangs a drum. It might be Grass and Rock because when introduced it was banging it's stick on a stone.

Scorbunny would probably evolve into a footballer, and when they kick a football it's as if it's like lightning, so Fire and Electric does seem to fit it well. Although from the introduction it could be Fire and Steel

Sobble could be Water and Ghost because of the way it camouflages in it's surroundings. Or Water and Psychic since Psychic moves is similar to Ghost. Look at the Lake Guardians for example.

I think that what @Champion Cynthia meant is that the secondary types would give them an advantage against the starter that they're normally weak to. Water is weak to Electric, Fire is weak to Rock, and Grass is weak to Ice.

That's not what they said... it does make more sense, though.

Still don't think Water/Ice suits Sobble or Intelleon's concept.
