Leak Repository Thread (WARNING: Huge spoilers!)

Based on the new site that dropped today a user on Twitter did some digging around and found this...

125283

~Starters' codenames seem to be named after what they become in their final stages (specifically Grookey)
~Yamper, Rolycoly and Wooloo are all first stage Pokémon meaning they evolve further
~Alcremie has a pre-evolution
~Corviknight has two pre-evolutions (likely meaning its the regional bird)
~Polteageist has a pre-evolution
~Drednaw has a pre-evolution

The starters' codenames pretty much give even more credence to the Affleck leak. I wonder if Alcremie's pre-evolution has flavors as well? If does it does then that's a whole lot of forms for one Pokémon line. I kinda expected Corviknight to be the regional bird so that's cool. I wonder what Polteageist pre-evolution will be? The most obvious choice is a teacup but you never know. I'm surprised that Drednaw has a pre-evolution.

This is really exciting.

Now this is interesting, although I didn't expect Alcremie to have a pre-evolution.

EDIT: Also, I find it funny how Morpeko's codename is Pospika.

Maybe for Alcreamie the numbers are for its flavors and not stages of evolution ?

Same tbh. My thoughts from the screenshot was that Gcream2 is Gigantamax Alcremie so would that make Alcremie Cream1 or is Alcremie Cream2 (And when Gigantamax's becomes GCream2) and a has a pre-evo being Cream1? Idk
And that's not even considering Corviknight's case. Is it a 3-stage Pokémon or a 2-stage Pokémon?

Cause they're a video game company. Money places a bit higher for them than convenience of the consumer.

I suppose. I'm just not particularly pleased with the fact that these newest installments will almost be like gacha games where one of the most important features to complete my collection of Pokemon (i.e. online trading and I'm guessing Pokemon Home?) will require me to pay Nintendo an extra fee.

Actually I think we should be grateful that’s all it is. Their console, and the internet is half the price of xbox and sony. It really should not come as a surprise that they added an online subscription, and it’s really cheap. My ps4 costs me $10 a month, and the games are the exact same price as the Wii U games, and the other consoles. It might be more than the 3ds, but as prices go up they want to stay with their competitors, and the times. Even if it sucks for us. I enjoy all the old online games that we get as well.

Aside from that. What is the deal with the dynamax camera?

I'm just not sure why anyone should have to pay $20 for a year of the service, especially in my case since I probably won't even make full use of Switch Online since I could easily settle all my online trades within just a couple of days and be done with my trading needs for Shield/Sword in that time. Since I probably wouldn't get a refund for the other 360-something days that I won't use the service, it just kinda sucks imo.

Apparently, the "G" in front of Alcremie, Drednaw, and Corviknight's code names imply that those are actually Gigantamax forms, meaning that Alcremie and Drednaw are single stage and Corviknight only has 1 pre-evo.

"GCream2", "Teacup2". If Grookey is "Gorilla1", and we know that Grookey is a first stage, then this number on the right does indicate the stage of the pokémon. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I understood.

Oh. Sorry. I misunderstood what the Gs were for.
No, I think you're most likely reading it the right way! You can interpret it two ways:
  1. Gigantamax Alcremie is GCream2, so its regular form should be either GCream1 or simply Cream1.
  2. Alcremie is Cream2 because it has a Cream1 pre-evo. Since only Alcremie can gigantamax, the line becomes Cream1 > Cream2 > GCream2
