SV Leaks and/or Rumours Thread

I bring it up because it looks like Quaxly just finished a battle and leveled up, so it's like the old way of move learning and not like PLA where you have to go to the pokemon menu to swap in the new move. I remember Kaka mentioning something about easy move swapping, and this just makes me question that a little. I suppose it could be a combination of the two.
I was under the impression that Kaka was specifically talking about the ability to swap your moves from the Pokemon menu outside of battle. Or in other words, making the Move Reminder's function built into the Pokemon menu instead of being a separate NPC. This feature can exist side-by-side with the old way of learning level-up moves, which I think works better for a game where battling is the main focus.

Honestly the trailer really hyped me up! It looks so fun, loving the game’s vibe so far. Also, at least 100+ new regular Pokémon, not legendaries or forms, is so exciting!

For leaks though:

  • ’Multiple dog lines’ implies Fidough has an evo or two, but we probably all guessed that. I saw someone pitch a really good evo idea - basically Pancham (Level + Dark-type to gain Dark-type) but with the Fire-type.
  • I’m so glad Cetitan has a prevo! I don’t like using single stagers due to a lack of feel of progress - I’ve used multiple before but prefer evo lines so much more. I’m thinking it might be the dolphin, which will rub some people the wrong way but it’ll be hilarious. I love our goofy kaiju narwhal.
  • I don’t get the Koraidon complaints - it’s primitive, it’s going to be ridden in the most primitive way humanity has ever rode anything which is on the back of an animal. And the wheels are there for swimming but also to evoke the image of a motorcycle whilst keeping it primitive.
  • I think this will be the harshest game for teambuilding for me since the 2D games. In Johto and Kalos-Galar I have 6-8 Pokémon I always want to use so the teams overlap a lot. It was less bad in Galar since I had enjoyable unique teams for each starter, but still not as diverse as Gen 1 and 3-5. I like nearly every Mon revealed so far but this can change with evos!

Kaka posted again, someone on Resetera posted the summary:
  • Sudowoodo, Teddiursa, Ditto are in.
  • Absol is not.
  • The third dog line is Dark-type (the other two are Fairy [Fidough] and Ghost).
  • The girl wearing black also uses Medicham (so along with Hariyama we can probably nail her down to Fighting specialist as speculated).
  • There's an Electric bird (he used two emojis, probably means it's a 2-stage line).
  • When asked about his favourite Future Pokemon, he posted Santa emoji (so Delibird?)
  • Spider is Bug-type (I guess it's confirming mono-Bug?)
  • No skirts in customisation.
  • Pseudo seems to be Dragon/Ice.

This is probably just me reading too much into it, but I wonder if this has anything to do with Grusha being the first Gym Leader to be shown off.
I don't know, the pseudo legendary didn't really play a significant role in Sw/Sh.

Do we have an updated pokédex?

I'm not nearly as skilled as oriden, but I've finally made two new graphics for the pokedex.

In the interest of being concise, only base forms are shown for the returning pokemon.

Keep in mind that the number of pokemon for gen 9 could be a little higher because we don't know if some pokemon have evolutions or not, but it should not be lower. (I think)

Wow, amazing! :bulbaLove: Thank you! And congrats!

I also ended up doing this one too in my free time, but yours is a lot better, more accurate and informative too. So I'll stick to yours. But I'll post mine here anyway in case anyone wants a more "old style" view of it (of those confirmed by Kaka, I put only Tauros cause it's the only one prob there is no chance of him being wrong/mistranslated).

Regarding the new Bug-Types, does anyone know where the theory that one of them is a Samurai, and another is a Kamen Rider came from? I only recall Khu saying one of the bug lines is "Japanese-Style", which to me sounds like it could refer to both a Samurai or a Kamen Rider. Could those descriptions be referring to the same Pokemon?

Kaka mentioned both a samurai beetle and a Kamen Rider Beetle (not fighting) on separate instances. I don't know if they could have been referring to the same pokemon/line, but Khu also had a riddle that hinted there would be 4 new bug lines and from other hints we know that one is a Spider and one is a Dung Beetle, so even if we were to say they were the same bug, we'd still have a mystery 4th bug (which could be something else leaked, who knows, really).

For what little it may be worth, the samurai’s helmet is called a Kabuto. The Rhinoceros Beetle is called a kabutomushi, or sometimes just Kabuto for short. And then there’s one of the more popular Kamen Riders - Kabuto.

Therefore it may be possible that all these things may have been referring to one singular Pokémon.

Thanks for keeping track. Where did the possibility of Sneasel returning come from though?

Do people like the ScarVio protagonists? I personally love their designs but apparently, some people think they look creepy. I lowkey want them to be the new protagonists for the anime if Ash gets replaced.

They looked a little off in the first trailer but in this latest one they definitely look better. Actually design wise though I think people just dislike the outfits.

I personally have never been too crazy about formal wear, so I really don't like that the clothing options are limited to uniform variations, as well as accessories like hats and glasses.

Yeah its a little disappointing. I will say though the jacket and pants is easily far better than the shirt and shorts you start with.
It also sucks because I dislike hats in general and glasses/masks never look good in Pokemon games. gonna have to hope theirs some neat hairstyles and mouth/eye shapes (C'mon don't just give happy smile and serious frown give me like, cat face or something. If Acerola can have one back in gen 7 so can I)

Psuedo being Dragon/Ice seems interesting to me, since it might be Cetitan. Yes, we know its getting a pre-evo, but we don't know yet if it gets an evo as well, but its still possible. While Cetitan looks like a finished mon, it also kinda looks like a middle stage.

I agree. When they went over it in the world overview I looked at it and it immediately reminded me of a middle stage pseudo. Though later on when I looked closer at it I thought it looked more complete, so it's hard to say.

That being said, I would like it to be a separate 'mon. I do like Cetitan, but I've been holding out hope for a big winged elegant looking ice-dragon for years. I don't want my dreams to be crushed just yet lol.

Cetitan is presumably the 2-stage pure Ice-type Avalugg-like Pokémon Kaka mentioned, as Khu was a bit flustered by the statement and didn't see all of the resemblances.

Cetitan looks finished to me, as well. It's the gymleader's ace, those are usually fully evolved, too.

Thanks for your work. And don't downplay yourself that you aren't as skilled as Oriden. This looks amazing as well.

One thing though. I see you have put Zangoose in the speculating bit (Red). However, imo, you can put in Mawile (Counterpart to Sableye) and Skrelp (Counterpart to Clauncher) in speculated as well. And i think Impidimp for speculation can be included too, because of its counterpart Hattena being confirmed.

I think you can also put Applin in for speculation, due to those stickers in the player house (Aside from that though, i think the majority of the SWSH dex makes it in regardless, due to them being the newest additions).
