Fair warning before you read. This is a non-Pokémon fiction. This was inspired by multiple books and shows. I hope you enjoy, as it is my first Fiction I have posted to a forum. Have fun reading...

Chapter 1: A Prologue

In a land far from Earth, where Magic roams, there was a man. This man was Jeremaeus. He was the last great Wizard, master of all Elements. He constructed the magnificent technology of MagiTek, the only technology that can exist in this world of Magika. But let me explain the history of Magika itself.

Hundreds of years before the time of Jeremaeus, there were 8 Dragons. One for each Element: Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Lightning, Life, Time, and Shadow. They created the world of Magika, with each of the elements. Water created the Seas, Earth created the land, Fire gave the lava and fire for people to live, Air for people to breath and blow the clouds. There were also Lightning, to create light, and give electricity to the people when the time came, Life for the Animals and Magikans, Time for things to age, and Shadow for the Evil Beings to die away in the Shadow World beneath the land.

All were content for the first few years of Magika's new life, except for one. The Shadow Dragon. He hated the fact that he was the most useless of all the great beings. So, with his special power, he corrupted people of the villages. He made them go to the Shadow World, for he hated the people. Eventually, the other dragons noticed the antics of Shadow. They banished him to the world he created, never to return to the light. Shadow sworn he would return to corrupt the rest of the people of Magika, to lead his armies of the Shadow World.

After 200 years, the villagers gained control of the different magics. The dragons felt that the abilities of themselves could be trusted to the people. The most powerful of all was Time. Time could stop things in their tracks, and could age things until they were dust. But the utmost rule of the magic was to never use it to travel in time, for it could cause events you would never want to happen. A magician named Farn pushed aside the rule, and traveled to the time of the banishment of Shadow. He was caught in the banishment, and Shadow kept hold of him, and corrupted his mind.

Time magicians could also teleport things at will, and that is exactly what Farn done. He made the Shadow Dragon go to his time, and set him lose among the people. The magicians, in a time of peace, were not prepared for the Armies of Shadow. They fell, and only the dragons could help. Knowing that the end was near, the other seven dragons sacrificed themselves to send Shadow away, and to protect the people with the Cores. The Cores generate the Magic of Magika, and there is one for each element.

Several hundred more years passed, and the history of the dragons of Magika fell into myth. The cores remained hidden in the Hole in the Sky, where no mortal could find them. Jeremaeus came into being, and was filled to the brim with ideas when he reached manhood. He wanted Magika to have a more complicated life of doing things, so he thought of making mechanized objects, that could do others work for them. The townsfolk, as the Magikans advanced farther, shunned him, and told him to stay with magical ways.

Jeremaeus would not give up. He designed a machine which could tell time, but it would not run, for it needed a fuel source. In this world, there was no such thing as gasoline, and the people have never used electricity besides shooting matches and sparrings. So, Jeremaeus was determined to create a fuel source for all of his machines.

Jeremaeus experimented with magics, seeing if he could make them into a fuel source. He was ready to give up, when he accidentally put magic inside a compressor. After it was finished, he saw the most interesting thing: sparkling, Magikal Oil. He poured it into his 'Clock', as he called his time keeping device. The Time Oil, for Jeremaeus was a Time Magician, worked the machine into ticking, and Jeremaeus found his fuel source.

After he shown his invention to the world, everyone was wanting devices for many purposes. They gave each of the Magikal Oils to Jeremaeus, and he designed tools for the use of Magicians. But he also designed weapons for the newly formed Magical Defense Force, just in case people rioted against the Magikan Council, the worldly Government. He gave the name of his technology MagiTek, in combining technology and magic.

People, after the conveniences of MagiTek, started to become corrupt. Shadow Worshippers started popping up, honoring the Banished One. They wanted Shadow Magicians to come to Magika. Shadow responded, and started taking away the magicians who grew corrupt, and made them a part of his army of Shadows. He made the worshippers Commanders of parts of his army.

One day, a bright light from the sky came, with a small dragon as the Herald.

"I have come to tell you of a new Class of Magician: Wizard.", it heralded.

Everyone was excited. There were only 3 classes of magicians before this day: Apprentice, for the newcomers, Sorcerer, for the Middle Class, and Mage, for the highly learned ones. Wizards was completely new, and the citizens wanted to know what it was. They knew it must be powerful.

"Wizard is a class in which only one person of this land may achieve, and it will be random of who will have the skill to receive this class. This Wizard will have the ability to learn all of the different magic, from Water to Time.", it explained.

The people were depressed that the Wizard was the only one who could learn all of the magics, but they were excited either way.

"The New Wizard of each generation shall be known by the great flash of light when they have achieved the Sorcerer rank in any magic. Once they know, they will be obligated to learn all of the magics, and will protect the land of Magika. I bid you farewell, people of Magika.", the dragon finished. It floated back into the heavens, never to be seen again.

The people were determined to find the Wizard, so everyone sent their sons and daughters to Magicians school, to learn of magics. Jeremaeus was never a Sorcerer of Time at this stage, for he focused mainly on his invention of MagiTek. A few months later, he earned his right as a Sorceror of Time, and a bright flash of light came. He was the Wizard of this generation.

After several more years, he became a Mage of all elements, and it was good that he did, for enough people have grown corrupt that the Banished One, the Shadow Dragon, will make his return to the land. After a few more months of Jeremaeus being Wizard, a Herald of Shadow came, and heeded these words.

"Citizens of Magika! I bid ye all a welcome for his majesty Shadow, the Banished One! He is returning to this world, and will stop at nothing until you are all corrupted. I will see you all very soon.", it announced. It then returned to the foul depths it came from.

The Magical Defense Force gotten ready for the attack of the Army of Shadow, and Jeremaeus prepared the area for invasion. A week later, the sky grew black, and Shadow returned. He sent his armies to the capital of Magika, and attacked. The Magical Defense Force fought, but they were not strong enough. Only Wizard Jeremaeus could stop Shadow and his legions. And after a long battle, Jeremaeus succeeded, and Shadow has fallen.

Jeremaeus died soon after. He couldn't survive the intoxication of Shadow, and died. The world fell silent that day, and his corporates of MagiTek continued making his creations for the world. Magic survived, but their savior didn't.

Shadow's legions may have been sent to the Shadow World again, but they were preparing for a new war, under the leadership of Lord Darcius, and his generals Krain and Vason. They trained their soldiers hard, and they would never die from age or wear. But they were not trained for war. They were trained to corrupt the living, and used Shadow Magic. Once the legions were sufficiently trained, they went back up to the world above secretly.

The world all fell corrupt and made themselves into countries from their Elemental Powers. The Shadow Magic returned to the land, and made themselves stronger by making their own country. Over the years, they taken over all of the magical countries, letting the people continue their work. Any magic users they found were immediately drafted into the Shadow Allegiance, the organization for any magic users. They were captured, corrupted, and made to serve.

The only country not under the rule of Lord Darcius was the Time Magicians' continent, Timezonia. They were resistant to the corruption of the Shadow, and survived. The Lord sent everyone of his forces, and Timezonia fallen, killing all Timezonians, magic users or not. They even destroyed all of the Books of Magic to teach the Time Magic.

The last mages of Timezonia sent away the remaining Sorceror, teleporting him to the far reaches of Lifeien, the Life Continent, and they too, were killed. The Last Time Magician survived the transport, and hidden himself. He lived as a lonely citizen under the Shadow Allegiance. He would never forget his magical skills.

There were a number of Magicians who have evaded the long hand of the Shadow Allegiance, and they formed, with the assistance of many other rebelling citizens, the Magical Resistance. The Resistance were determined to stop Darcius and his rule. They wanted to free the land of Magika. They all wanted Shadow away.

This chapter is a prologue to a greater journey. One of 7 teenagers, one from each Element. Yes, the Last Time Magician found his way to the Resistance. They formed themselves into the Magician Syndicate, one of many. This story is of them, Lord Darcius and his generals, and the rest of the world.

Chapter 2: An Introduction to the Resistance

After the guild's recent excursion with their last heist from the Oceana Armory, they settled down into Lifeien and prepared for their next heist of the Lifeien Warehouse to steal supplies. This chapter of my story will be to introduce the guild and its history. I will be your narrator of this story. My identity shall remain unknown until necessary. Take a look at the grim history of these rebels, and why they do what they do.

Claire was working on the finishing touches to the MagiTek Code Scrambler. Everyone in the Resistance had the compressor necessary for making the special fuel, and there were special mechanics in each group. Claire, a Lightning Magician, was familiar with the special tubes necessary to fuel the Scrambler. It was vital that she would get it right. It was necessary for the next heist. While working, she drifted into her history, which is so...

~~~~~
Claire is girl of average height, and was garbed in the traditional colors of Zapasia, which was a dark yellow cloak with a light blue shirt. She had blonde hair with green eyes. Most Lightning Magicians look like this.
She was always interested in the circuitry of MagiTek, even when she was a little girl. Before the magicians split into their own separate continents, she actually got to see the MagiTek factory in person, and saw how each of the mechanisms worked. This is how she managed to learn all of her circuitry mechanics with the designers of the technology. They always interested her.
This was before the governments split. Afterward, the Shadow Allegiance took her family away from her, to be corrupted for their evil methods. She never forgot the day when the horrid robots took away her parents. The robots were her only hated technology.
The robots didn't bother taking her away, as they thought that she wasn't knowledgeable in Lightning Magic. But she was. There was even a hidden library her father kept, with the different spells she could learn at a Sorcerer level. She taught herself, keeping herself fed and clothed with her family secret store.
When she was old enough to take care of herself out in the world, she went out and about. She kept herself hidden with a black cloak she found. She eventually did find the Resistance headquarters, and got grouped with her friends, and they have been so ever since.
~~~~~

Simone was planning the main attack on the Supply Depot. He wanted everything to go right, that way everyone in the Shadowtropolis Sanctuaries can have the conveniences of MagiTek utensils. Being a Water Magician, he could make mist in the air, surrounding the campsite, preventing Night Guards from noticing them. He also could use the mud by making float in the air to plot his plans. While thinking of this, he drifted into his history...

~~~~~
Simone was a rather tall teen. He had brown eyes, with a blonde hair, traditional traits of a Water Magician. He wore the blue cloak and yellow shirt of the Water Magicians' continent, Oceana. He was always studying his books of Water Magic he saved from the clutches of the Shadow Bots.
Simone was only an Apprentice when the Shadow Bots invaded the peaceful land of Oceana. He managed to save one book of magic before the bots took all of the others. His parents did their best to stop them They were the librarians of the vast library of Oceana, and were not experienced in magic in any form whatsoever. They were not taken away, but all of the other books of magic were taken away. The spirit of Oceana was taken on that day.
He managed to earn his Sorcerer from that single book. When he did, he felt he was old enough to join the Resistance, which he had heard so much about from the citizens that came by the library daily. His parents didn't argue. They wanted their son to help the world more than just to sort the remaining books. So, as soon as he found the headquarters of Oceana's Resistance, he got sorted into Mage's guild, and stayed with them ever since.
Reicha was cooking the evening meal. With her as a Life Magician, she could easily determine what could be the best ingredients to use. A nice Woodland Stew, with its origins from Lifeien, the Life Magicians' continent. All of the delicious flavors were from her powers of Life. The power to control the trees and animals was a useful one, for enemies or friends. While she was mixing in the delicious flavors, she thought about her past...
~~~~

Reicha had auburn hair, with green eyes the color of grass. She wore the dark green cloak and the red of Lifeien, the Continent of Life Magicians. She was of average height, and kept her family cookbooks for many years. What was special about this cookbook was that it held all of the spells necessary for a Sorcerer.

Reicha was a prodigy at magic right when she was an apprentice. She could charm any animal into doing what she wanted, and could make a grand oak tree do what she wanted. It proved to be futile in the end, when the Shadow Bots invaded the gourmet country of Lifeien. They took every book of magic, and accidentally knocked out Reicha when she was protecting her family's restaurant. Thinking she was dead, they burned the place, and left Reicha to burn with it.

Reicha survived the fire, and her family's cookbook as well. With that, she could become a Life Sorcerer, and keep her family business running as well. As with most Life Magicians, they were excellent cooks, and she kept herself fit and healthy until she was a Sorcerer. She discovered the Resistance from the constant chatter of her customers, and quickly joined. She gave away the restaurant to her dearest friend, and got grouped with Mage's Guild. This is how she has been ever since.

~~~~
Hector, the hotheaded Fire Magician, was keeping the main Campfire in check. He was a master of Fire, the destructive power of nature. He was a deadly opponent when not facing the ever easy task of watching the camp fire. He always wished for more action, but he knew it was nice that he could have a moment's peace. In this moment, he remembered the day his city was flooded...
~~~~~

Hector had the burning red hair and startling silver eyes of any proper Fire Magician. He wore the red cloak and brown shirt of his continent, Flamerica. He had a hot temper, and wasn't afraid to get into a fight when necessary. His fiery skills were always put to the best use.

Hector was a Sorcerer for 3 months when the Shadow Bots came. Instead of ransacking the continent, they broke all of the dams that suppressed the great rivers instead. The Flamericans hated water, so they blocked all of the river sources, to give a free space for their fire. The dams, when they flooded the cities, killed millions, and washed away all of the manuscripts of Fire Magic. Hector was very lucky to survive this incident. He was one of the few Fire Magicians not turned corrupt or drowned.

After his years of living in the remains of his ruined city, he decided he would find the Resistance. And after many weeks of finding the headquarters of Flamerica, he got sorted into Mage's guild. He provided the guild with his protection ever since.

~~~~
Felicia was controlling the winds to be blowing away the smoke and steam from the fires and meal. She was an Air Magician, and could easily manipulate the wind to do her bidding. She could make a leaf travel a mile if she wanted too. And, if she really focused, she could blow a Shadow Bot the same distance. Her airborne city was her worst thought of the Shadow Allegiance, and when she thought of it, she kept under control very steadily while thinking...
~~~~

Felicia had the honey blonde hair of a Wind Magician, with cunning green eyes. She wore the light green cloak and the red shirt of the Wind Continent, Breeza. She always carried her fan, which was her only remnant from the man-made storm. She never forgot one of the wonders of the world she lived in.

The most amazing thing about Breeza was the fact that there wasn't many things on the ground. Most everything was in the sky, and the greatest city of all sat flying in the sky. The Wind Magicians were masters of the art of flight, and they could fly anywhere with the assistance of the wind. The bad ting about living in the sky was that storms could hit. The Shadow Storm destroyed all of the different cities that were in the sky. Reicha was a sorcerer of this last conquest, and never forgot the broiling black clouds of the man made storm.

After years of living in the wreckage of the once-floating cities, Reicha left. She didn't want to carry the sight of the wonderful city, and flown off to the skies, finding the Breeza Headquarters of the Resistance. She got grouped into Mage's Guild, and stayed with them ever since. Her high-flying abilities saved them on numerous occasions.

~~~~
Brock was the physical one of the group. He kept guard of the entire camp, and had his Rock Guards patrol the area. He was an Earth Magician, one who could charm the rocks to do whatever he wanted. He was a deadly enemy in battle, and you never wanted him on your bad side. Even with his strength, his brains were rather weak. He thought about the sinkholes that absorbed his town. He never liked the thought...
~~~~

Brock had black hair with dark blue eyes. He wore the brown cloak and the blue shirt of the Earth Magicians' continent, Terra Firma. The people were rock-headed, so to speak, and stuck to their traditions of living underground for a living. They all live to dig, and mined for all of the metals and jewels they gave to the other continents. Almost everyone knew how to mine. That is, until the sinkholes came...

Sinkholes appeared everywhere as soon as the Shadow Allegiance pumped the rock from underground to the surface, making the soil under very unstable. The miners didn't realize this, and they were trapped within all of the sinkholes that appeared. All of the cities disappeared with their knowledge as well. There were only a few refugees left from the horrid undertaking. There were few Earth Magicians left, and Brock was one of them.

Brock wanted to do more with his life other than just eat his porridge every morning. He set off burrowing underground at high speeds, determined to find the Terra Firma Base of the Resistance. He bumped into it underground, and went inside. As soon as he could, he got grouped with the rest of his little company, and finished the guild. His tunneling skills helped everyone in numerous occasions.

~~~~
Reicha was adding some dry pepper to the stew when she heard a rustling in the bushes.
"Someone might be here! Someone dangerous!", she alerted in a quiet whisper. Brock's rock guards stationed over to the west side of camp. They were prepared to do anything to make sure that the infiltrator didn't leave alive. The rustling grew louder, and louder, until the figure approached out. The campers had a sigh of relief when they discovered when it was just Mage.
Mage is an interesting character. He was a loner, even around his friends. He was a very powerful sorcerer, and was only a danger if you weren't one of his allies. Although, it might have something to do with his past. He was the Last Time Magician, after all.
~~~~

Mage was a young man of average height. He wore the customary colors of gray, as it represented the Time element, and wore a light green as a shirt. Most of the time, it was hard to tell what color his eyes or hair were, as from my vantage point I couldn't see. But most believed that his hair was a dark brown, and his eyes were a light blue.

He was a loner in his city. Most of the other kids preferred people who talked more, even if he was a powerful magician. He lived in a standard apartment building with his parents. He had no siblings to speak of, and he had no pets either. He was truly an outcast.

He just received his rank of Sorcerer when the sirens blared, signaling an attack. The Shadow Robots have come. They were relentless with their attack, with their numbers uncountable. The Time Guardians did their best to repel the attack, but to no avail. The Shadow Magicians were in the city after mere moments.

Even with the defense forces inside the city, the Shadows kept coming. Eventually, they just gave up, and ordered everyone to get into the City Hall. After everyone escaped, the city was in flames. The Shadow Men were sacking the city, taking whatever valuable they could.

Even with everyone in the City Hall, the Time Guardians couldn't keep the Shadows at bay. They broke through, and slaughtered everyone, magician or not. The Mages of the city were safe, with the surviving Sorcerer, Mage. They knew that Timezonia was already gone. They readied their magic, and teleported mage away from Timezonia, into the Life Continent Lifeien. They were killed soon after.

After Mage was teleported, he found a nearby house and asked if he could live there. The couple, not having children of their own, was glad to take him in. They gave him the clothes of a regular Lifeien citizen, and he worked in the home. They fed him and dressed him, and Mage hoped he would never have to face the Shadows again.

One day, an injured man came through the door. He was terribly ill, and was shot by the Shadow Guards. He claimed he was of the Resistance. The couple, being kind hearted, helped. The man, while he was healing, he explained to Mage what the Resistance was, and why they did. Mage, wanting vengeance for the Time Magicians, wanted to join.

~~~~
Mage is just a nickname. No one really knows his real name. All anyone really knows is that he is the greatest threat to Lord Darcius and his Shadows. He sat on the nearest log to the campfire, and asked Simone, "Is the Infiltration Plan ready?".
"Almost. I just need to figure out the escape. From Brock's scout outs, he reported that there is at least 50 Shadow Guards on Patrol, 20 Night Guards on the outside, and about ten Skitter Bugs watching every entrance. I don't see how we can easily escape the area and make out with all of the MagiTek.", Simone responded. He was done with the mud models and playing around with the water. He was making them into different animals, such as a deer, a lizard, the like. He accidentally sprayed some water on Hector. Big mistake.
Hector was literally steaming when he got off of his chair. He was so mad that the water on him was steaming off of his shoulders, as any Fire Magician was able to do. "How come you sprayed that water on me?! You know I hate it! It messes with my Magic!", he yelled at Simone. Simone acted calm and still.
"It was just an accident, Hector. I never meant to hit you with water. Although, I think it done you some good. You were really stinking the last couple of days.", Simone responded. He was just rolling around a little marble of water in his palms. It was an obvious sign that he was agitated. Hector wouldn't give up.
"Oh yeah? Well I got news for you, Leaky! If the infiltration doesn't work out as it should because of my fire, I'll blame you!", Hector insulted.
"That is enough!!"
Hector looked at the person who said that, who was Reicha.
“You two shouldn't be fighting when all he did was put a wet stain on your cloak. When need to all be together when we do the heist!", Reicha scolded Hector. She was sweet hearted most of the time, but when there is a fight amongst her friends, she would go angry. She hated fights, so she wanted to end them. Hector, looking rather shocked, went back to his seat, and continued playing with the fire.
"She is right. We need those devices. All of the old ones are ruined, so the sanctuaries in Shadowtropolis need them."
Mage was the one who said that. Whenever he said something like that, they knew it was important. Everyone in the camp wanted the heist to be successful. If it wasn't, they wouldn't have the one thing to help the families in Shadowtropolis.
~~~~

In Shadowtropolis's capitol, the two generals Krain and Vason were supervising the Corrupterizing of the newly caught rebels. They enjoyed seeing the horror on their faces right when they were corrupted. Krain enjoyed it most. He had the brains of the operation, and helped Lord Darcius create the mechanism. Vason was busy just trying to get the loose thread on his shirt. He wasn't that smart.

Krain was a tall, lean man. He had the customary colors of black on his clothes, with his dark navy cloak over it. One of his more interesting features was his mechanized hand. It could transform into anything he wished, and he hated it, for the fact it shown how he was weak in the battle in Jeremaeus' time. But what was most interesting was his terribly long eyebrows. They were like a separate head of hair, with their length of 6 inches across. He loved them, and they were his favorite part for the fact they completely blocked his eyes, with his enemies never knowing what he was seeing.

Vason was tall like Krain, but was instead very muscular. He had on the customary garb of a Shadow person as well. But he had a major drawback. Ever since his hit with a Magical Disintegrator, his form was never very stable. He could transform into practically anything, but he didn't have the ability to do so. Only Krain with his special remote could he transform. He hated the fact that in missions for finding the Time Magician, he always done the dirty work.

After the last of the magicians were corrupted they headed the long way down to Lord Darcius' chambers. General Vason was rather bored, so he shoved Krain into the wall. But, as he wasn't very smart, he didn't know how hard he hit. Krain ended up hitting the wall as a result, with several cracks coming from the impact.

"Why did you do that! You know I could turn you into a beetle and squish you!", Krain yelled, with his mechanical hand turning into a megaphone, amplifying his voice. Vason didn't mind a bit.

"I just felt like shoving something. And besides, you wouldn't dare kill me. You know what would happen to you if you did.", Vason responded, adjusting his collar. Krain shivered at the prospect. Lord Darcius hated it when his lower ranks fight amongst themselves. You would never want to know what he done to his men who killed allies.

"KRAIN! VASON! I NEED YOU HERE!", a voice cried out.

The duo immediately ran towards the chambers. Whenever Lord Darcius needed something, they obeyed. Once they reached the doorway, they straightened themselves up, and entered the room. It was completely dark, save for the lights in the corners of the room. Darcius hated the light, but will use it to make himself more menacing. Suddenly, a light shined down from above, and hit the figure in the center.

Lord Darcius was kneeling at the moment. He was hooded, and completely in black. His black beard blocked anything from his face from showing. His prized possession was his staff. It contained magic that was said to have come from the Shadow dragon. It let him have the ability to use any magic in the world, save Time.

"Yes your majesty? What would you need us for?", Krain asked. He was shaking beneath his cloak. No one enjoyed seeing Darcius. His features were hidden, making it hard to see if he was joking or not. If you were wrong, he gets terribly angry.

"I ordered you here to check out the area on the Lightning continent, Zapasia. It seems to be that there is a little riot that needs to be handled with. Could you take care of the rioters?", Darcius asked. Although, he didn't really ask. It was in a commanding tone.

"Will do, sir! I will love to see them when they enter the Corrupterizer. Vason, prepare to ride, for you are the ride.", Krain responded. He enjoyed it when he was leader.

"I hate it when you transform me. When I get an itch, I can't get it.", Vason responded.

"Well, you don't get any satisfaction. Any more of the itching problem, and then I will transform you into a back scratcher! Get ready to go!", Krain ordered. He pressed a button on his remote, and Vason transformed into a motorcycle. He groaned as Krain got onto his back, or was now the seat. Krain pulled the gas, and was out of the palace, going to Zapasia.

Chapter 3: The Warehouse Infiltration Plan

After the rebels had their rest that night, and their delicious stew, they were ready for to make the break-in to the warehouse nearby.

"Alright, here is the plan. We will deactivate the surrounding Shadow Guards, with Claire's Lightning magic of course, and get into the warehouse. We will take what we can to give to the Sanctuaries, and leave the premises. I have figured out how to do so. All we need is a distraction. Brock?", Simone explained, then asked. Brock was busy eating some of the granola from their breakfast.

"Huh, is it lunchtime yet?", Brock asked. He was always hungry.

"No, we need you to provide for a distraction. All you need to do is catch the attention of the guards outside. Once me and the others escape, you can do what you want with them.", Simone explained to Brock.

"It will be my pleasure.", Brock replied, doing a bow with a sneer. He was going to enjoy his part. Mage was impressed, thinking that this plan was going to work. His mind then wandered off when the others were having their own discussions. He then started thinking of his past, before Timezonia was destroyed...

~~~~~
And suddenly, he was back into reality. He didn't know what had happened during his thinking, but it looked like that breakfast was over. He hated his past, and was going to make sure he made everything right.
He was called over by his friends. Claire was the most anxious to go. She wanted to test out her code scrambler.
"Come on! We're ready to go!", Claire called. Mage hurried over to the others, and walked over towards the warehouse. He kept thinking of his past, and ever forgot why he came to the Resistance. Vengeance.
~~~~

Vason was soaking wet after their voyage over the ocean. After Krain's little bike ride, he was transformed into a boat. Vason hated any vehicles involving water. Barnacles and fish really thought he was made of wood, when he was a real person. It wasn't pleasant.

"Why must you be so cruel? You know I hate boats! Why couldn't we have made me into an airplane for Pete's sake!", Vason complained. Krain was rather tired of hearing Vason talk, so he made him into his regular self. Vason quickly shifted back, glad to have arms again. He was still wet, however.

"Why must you complain! You have one of the most powerful abilities in the world!", Krain yelled. He then wringed out his massive eyebrows, which were wet from the mist and rain of the ocean. "Besides, an airplane would have been to obvious. And you would have gotten airsick.", Krain added.

Vason ignored the last comment. "It is no fun to use the ability when I can't control it! Anyway, were sent here for a reason, were we not?", Vason questioned. He then noticed the city in the distance, which had shouting coming from it. Vason ran over to the city, knowing he was on duty.

"Wait for me, you oaf!", Krain yelled. He ran over towards Vason, and turned his hand into a megaphone. "All citizens of Electown listen to me! You are to stop this riot, or you shall be subjected to the iron hand of me!", Vason roared through.

"We won't listen to you, General Vain!"

You and you're bushy eyebrows don't mean a thing to us!"

"And your unstable friend doesn't matter a bit!"

These were several voices yelling at the duo. Krain was doubtlessly appalled by this manner. "Vason, you are now turning into something useful!", Krain announced. He pushed his button, and Vason turned into a Magical Disintegrator.

"NO! Not this weapon! You saw what that thing did to me! And it wasn't a direct shot!", Vason argued.

"Well, you don't get a say in this! We are teaching these petty townsfolk a lesson!", Krain shouted. He put on his communicator, and said into it, "Get me several squadrons of Shadow Guards! There is going to be a battle tonight!".

While Krain and Vason were handling the village, Darcius thought of other things. He wandered around his palace more when no one was around. He especially loved to think about his dark past, as dark in his opinion was good. He thought about when he was just a boy, being corrupted by the Shadow Dragon.

~~~~
Darcius was only eight-years-old when he was influenced by Shadow. He was known as Dan at the time, not having gained his regal title. He was first influenced by the Shadow Dragon to take some of his mother's cookie when no one was looking. Then it advanced to stealing his father's money when he was 15. Eventually, he become a renowned thief in the village he was raised on, and was sent to the Shadow World for his misdeeds.
Dan was rather frightened of the dark at first, but he adjusted to it, eventually preferring it over the harsh light of the Light Realm. He was trained in the way of the Shadow Kind, the people who lived in the Shadow World. He became a master of all sorts of weapons, from swords to throwing stars. He was considered the best in the Shadow World in the weaponry arts.
When the Shadow Dragon was banished to the Shadow World the first time, he immediately made Darcius his Head General. All of the denizens told Shadow of his skills, and he immediately made him the general. In fact, Darcius was the Shadow Dragon's closest, and only, friend. And Darcius had a hand in helping the Shadow Dragon plan his escape.
After Farn was discovered, things were changed drastically. Though Shadow knew nothing about the world he came from, he was intrigued by the magician's ability of Time Magic. He wanted to use it for himself. He wanted to go back to the world above.
Farn was eventually corrupted by the vile magic of Shadow. He agreed to send Shadow to the Light World of the future, where he came from. After he was sent, it was a long time before Darcius saw Shadow again. As they waited 200 years for Shadow to summon them, the Shadowkind went about their business. Their world wasn't too different from the world of Magika, but there was one key difference: There were a lot more crimes in the cities.
Once 200 years had passed, they were lifted into the world they were banished from, being summoned by Shadow. They quickly adjusted themselves to the light, and attacked the cities. After just hours of pleasure, they were sent back again, and were submitted to the iron hand of the other Elemental Dragons' rule. They hated the fact that they couldn't do anything to bring themselves back to the World of Light, as Farn was killed in a cart accident. It was a long story.
After hundreds more years, they felt the change in the world from the invention of MagiTek. They knew that it would cause a change good for their side, and it did. People now worshipped Shadow and his denizens, and were sent away into the Shadow World to be made Commanders of the Banished One's vast military. They knew that once the population grew enough, that they could make their return to the World of Light.
After a few years, Shadow climbed his way to the surface, and called his legions to attack. Darcius assisted with organizing the military force, and attacked all of the cities. The Shadow Kind were unstoppable. That is, until the Wizard Jeremaeus killed their god. They were immediately sent back down to the surface, lavishing in the word that Jeremaeus died. They knew they would return once more to the world above. They could wait.
After a decade or so, the world split apart with its governments. Many became corrupt, and were sent to the Shadow World to live their lives there. But they would soon return. The corruption in the world grew so much, that Darcius, as elected King over the Shadow Kind, brought everyone back, and claimed their own continent. Darcius steadily conquered the areas with the assistance of his Generals Krain and Vason. With their abilities, they were his bounty hunters, searching for the rest of the magicians hiding in the world. But they collected no bounty. They were bound into servitude by Lord Darcius.
~~~~

As said before, his history was dark. But Darcius loved it, and he was going to bring the glory back to the Banished One.

Chapter 4: The Infiltration Itself

The Magicians soon made it to the warehouse, and they got to work. Felicia and Brock kept watch around the area. Simone made sure everything was to plan. Hector heated up the door so it would open. Mage supervised, and eliminated any Shadow Guards that came by. And finally, Claire got to work on the code scrambler that would unlock all of the chests inside.

During this operation, Brock was caught snacking on one of his biscuits he kept in cloak. He was never supposed to snack, as it hindered his attention. He was caught by Felicia during one of her flybys.

"What did we tell you about snacking on the job! You never pay attention when you do! What would happen if a Shadow Guard came up?", Felicia scolded. She floated down to the ground, so she could gain an advantage to her scolding. Brock was rather ashamed of himself.

"I can't help it, Felicia! I just get hungry!", Brock explained.

"Well, you had better control yourself some more!", Felicia responded.

Claire was too busy to pay attention. She was thinking about how she came here. It wasn't pleasant at all. She needed focus on her circuitry, but was so absorbed in her history, that she didn't care.

~~~~~
She suddenly snapped back into the reality that she knew was real. She was too absorbed to see that the others were ready to leave. She quickly finished the scrambler, and followed after. She was deeply sorrowed about her parents, and she knew she would find them again. She didn't care how long she would wait.
The warehouse was chock full of MagiTeknical devices. Everything from stoves, to computers. Everything here was reserved for the Shadow Allegiance and their commanders. But the Magicians weren't interested in why the Warehouse was here. They just knew it was going to be Shadowtropolis' poor families savior.
They immediately got to work. Most everyone was getting the devices into their bags, even until it was so heavy, it would be terribly hard to move. Claire had the most important job of this operation: to open the safes that held information on the Shadow Allegiance's bases. It was important for the M.C. Headquarters.
While everyone was packing their bags, Claire found something most unusual inside one of the file cabinets. It was a small, grey sphere. It wasn't metallic, or anything really. It was rubbery, and was very light.
"Hey everyone, come look at this!", Claire hollered. Every brought over their bags, and they were nearly full. It was done with great effort.
"Isn't this a strange ball? Why would it be inside one of these high security safes?", Claire asked. No one knew, but as soon as this happened, the sirens started blaring.
"I guess our invitation has been taken away. Let's get out of here!", Hector stated. Everyone else agreed, and ran out as best they could, with the little ball with Claire. And as soon as they escaped outside of the warehouse, they were surrounded by robots of all shapes and sizes. They were backed into a corner.
"So, any bright ideas?", Felicia asked.
~~~~~

Everyone in the town was frightened of the maddened general. No one wanted to get blasted by the Magical Disintegrator, which was really the other general, and be nothing. General Krain honestly didn't want to shoot the civilians, but will do so if necessary. While General Vason completely objected to it. Eventually, Krain got tired of it.

"Would you be quiet, you! You would make an excellent weapon if you actually shut up! Well I had enough of it! You are back to your original self!", Krain exclaimed. He threw Vason onto the ground, and clicked his remote. Vason quickly transformed back to his form, and was thrilled.

"Oh, thank you! I would never want anyone hurt with that horrible weapon. But I wouldn't mind another...", Vason wondered. He then whipped out his Zapper Rifle, which harnessed the energy of Lightning Oil, and shocked people until they were paralyzed. It was his favorite weapon, and he would not hesitate to use it. Krain quickly transformed his hand into his preferred weapon, the Freeze Cannon.

"Alright, who is first to be in our cell?", Krain asked. He wasn't really asking.

"Cell? I didn't know we had a cell.", Vason questioned, confused. Krain quickly whipped out his remote, and transformed Vason again. Vason's body immediately shifted into a cage.

"We have a cell now! Now, everyone in!", Krain ordered, pointing his Freeze Cannon at the townsfolk. They obeyed, and awaited their corruption. Some of these people were a part of the Resistance as well, and certainly didn't want to be corrupted. And shortly after this caging up, their demise arrived. The squadrons brought a Corrupterizer with them, and almost all hope was lost.

While the townsfolk were being loaded into the cage of Vason, Krain thought about his history with Vason. Although it was dark like Darcius', he loved it as well. He remembered his first day in training camp with Vason...

~~~~
Krain was sent into the Shadow World at the age of 22, when he murdered the mayor of his village. Vason was sent down with him at the age of 25, stealing an entire supply cart of supplies, just to make a storeroom for his home. They were very evil at the core, even if their personalities didn't show it. And with all newcomers, there came a great burden: Training Camp, to be trained for Shadow's great return.
They were sent down a few months before the Banished One was killed. They were made into great soldiers, and eventually gained the rank of Generals, for their great deeds in the Shadow World. They were especially helpful in the fight against the World of Light, where they conquered many cities. Sadly, Krain lost his hand in a shot from a Flame Shooter. Vason gained an unstable form from the aftershocks of a Magical Disintegrator, and was sent into intensive care to have a device to stabilize his body. It worked, and he had the ability to transform into anything he wanted, with the access of Krain, who got a new robotic hand, which could transform into anything handheld.
This is a good instance to explain how Vason's transformations worked. He could transform easily into anything around his body size. For example, when he was turned into a motorcycle, it was around his body size, with his face at the handles. With a boat or cage though, it was hard for his body to transform into such things. But it succeeds, with his face being somewhere on the creation. He cannot turn into something half his size or lower, or into anything more than triple his size. There are limits into his transformations.
After they were sent down again, they had nothing to really do. They waited for the time they would return to the world. After they did return, they assisted Darcius in conquering the world. They couldn't do so with the means of Shadow Magic, as all of the magicians who learned that magic were killed with Shadow. So, Krain invented the Corrupterizer, the only machine which could mechanically corrupt someone in just seconds. It greatly assisted the process of turning all of the magicians into Darcius' slaves. Krain also invented the Shadow BOts, Darcius' new army. Most of his old one was destroyed with Shadow
After the conquest of Timezonia, Krain and Vason were turned into Bounty Hunters, to hunt down the last of the magicians. They didn't particularly like the job, but they were forced. And they did a wonderful job of ratting out the Resistance with Vason's transformations. Without Vason's ability, and Krain's knowledge, the world wouldn't be the way it was.
~~~~

Krain loved these thoughts. He then snapped back into reality, making sure everyone was in the cage. He wanted to see their horror of being Corrupterized.

Re: The Magical Resistance (Chapter 4 Posted)

NOTE FROM AUTHOR!! There will be a change in Chapters 2-4. The intros for the characters will be moved into Chapter 2, to make the introductions more convenient. In exchange, there will be some more detail in the other chapters. After this post, I will start.

Chapter 5: Meeting the Seer

Mage and the others were surrounded by the Shadow Guards, and they were in huge numbers. The magicians fought against them, but they kept coming. It seemed like nothing could stop them from capturing these members of the Resistance. Until Simone thought of a plan.

"Mage, could your Time Magic teleport us to safety?" Simone asked through the fray. He was busy short circuiting a band of robots while saying this.

"I could, but with the load we have, and ourselves, I would be tired out from the transfer. I don't even know if it will work." Mage responded. He was also busy destroying robots, by making them age until the rust appeared on them.

"Just try!!" Claire shouted. She was zapping them to bits. Mage then started to recite the words of teleportation. I will not get into detail about the actual words, they were too mystic.

And suddenly, they were whisked away, and all of the items with them. But before they left, a photo was taken of them by the security cameras, to send to Lord Darcius.

The magicians were teleported into a dark room. There was no light of any sort, save from the window on the floor. It was a confusing place. There seemed to be no sort of doorways whatsoever.

"Mage, where did you take us?" Reicha asked. She was just as bewildered as the rest of the magicians.

"I didn't teleport anyone, anywhere. This was the work of someone else. Another Time magician..." Mage replied. He was thinking about another survivor.

"Your savior would be me." I replied. Yes, I am the person in this room, reciting what I saw from my vantage point. Anyway, everyone turned to see who I was.

They saw an old man, wearing strange clothes from no magic. They were a dark purple color, with a light green shirt. He had ink over his hands, but surprisingly none on his clothing. He was very tall, and had blue eyes with dark gray hair. What was most interesting was the staff he held in his right hand.

"Who are you, and where are we?" Mage asked. He considered himself leader of his guild. Guild, yes, that would be a fitting name.

"Before I say who I am, let me explain where we are. You are in the Hole in the Sky, the safe hold of the Magical Cores, what is left of the once great Elemental Dragons. Behold!" I exclaimed. I waved my hand over the room, and revealed the seven Elemental Cores. There was one for each element, and each their own respective colors. Yellow for Lightning, Blue for Water, Light Green for Air, Dark Green for Life, Brown for Earth, Red for Fire, and Grey for Time. They were like miniature suns, except they gave only a magical glow, and not heat. Everyone, except me, stood in awe of the wonders of the Cores.

"So this place really does exist..." Hector stated. He stood in solemn silence like the others.

"Yes, so it does. Let me explain myself. I am the Seer of the Hole in the Sky. I record everyone's life from my study from the window. The window is the way I see everyone's lives, even yours. And I can focus on one particular area, while my magic writes what I think. I may be the Recorder of Lives, Prophesier of Fates, the Seer of the Hole in the Sky, but you may know me better by this name. I am Jeremaeus." I stated. I loved the look on everyone's faces.

~~~~
Everyone in the town was Corrupterized by the Corrupterizer. No one came to save them, like in many other stories I know of. And they were all sent away in another cage, much like the one Vason was. Speaking of the general, let us focus on him.
He was busy cleaning himself of the filth that was on everyone's shoes. He sincerely hated it. He was cursed instead of blessed, unlike his partner Krain thought. He wanted to speak a piece of his mind.
"You know Krain? I am tired of you controlling my transformations. Ever since I my body was restabilized, you have always used me to your advantage. Give me that remote, so I can control my own body!" Vason demanded. Boy was he angry.
Krain shook his head. "Would you even know what to do with yourself? What is the first thing you would transform yourself into?", Krain asked. He was testing Vason's brainpower here.
"Um... a dog?", Vason responded. It was the first thing in his head. He wasn't that smart, as said before.
"A dog, eh. Well, I suppose that could NIP THE ENEMIES BOOTS!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! You don't even have the slightest idea what to do. So, I will make a compromise. No more transformations for the rest of the day." Krain responded. He was being honest here.
"Really Krain? Thank you! Now I can use my gun in a battle, not being a gun for you!",Vason responded with glee. He was very excited for the idea to sleep normally, not as a bed for Krain. Krain sighed, and looked into the distance, wondering why he promised that. He then saw a message bot come up from the landscape, carrying a message. Krain grabbed, and sent the piece of machinery on its way. When he read it, his eyes shot up.
"It is from the Lord! We need to head back to the palace right away!" Krain exclaimed. He was just about to push a button on his remote, when Vason reminded him.
"Ah ah, you promised you wouldn't transform me. Let's take one of the trucks instead." Vason reminded. He was about ready for a seat instead of being the seat. Krain sighed, and nodded his head. This was going to be a long ride.
Chapter 6: The Story of the Seer
"Wait, so you are the legendary Jeremaeus? The Inventor of MagiTek? The Slayer of the Shadow Dragon? The First Wizard? You are really him?" Mage asked.
"I am indeed, but I am not the man I once was. I did indeed die from my encounter of the Shadow Dragon. That was my mortal form. Whenever a Wizard dies, he goes into an immortal state, and assists the new Wizard and train him when the time comes. But until that time, my job is to be the Seer of the Hole in the Sky. It is the duty of any Wizard who dies. And when the next one dies, he or she will take my place, and the cycle will continue.",I explained. I was wiping my hands with a cloth at this time.
"If you are Jeremaeus, which you are, could you tell us if we will succeed against the Shadow Allegiance?" Reicha asked. She was desperate to know. She didn't want everyone to be under Darcius's rule forever. I just shook my head.
"I cannot tell you if you will succeed. But I can tell how you could succeed. Come over into my study, and I can show you." I explained. I waved my hand over the other way, and revealed the doorway into my study. I teleported into the room. I am not much of a walker nowadays. Everyone else gone through the door, and saw one of the most amazing things.
The room was bustling with activity. Some little imps were doing paperwork and sorting, others were readying the ink, and others were writing down instances. But what was most interesting was the globe hanging from the ceiling. It wasn't just a globe. It was a magical device.
"So what do you think of my-- FRANK! What did I tell you about those pages! Those don't go into the cooking area! They go into the history of MagiTek! Now get it right!!" I yelled. The imp holding yellow papers was surprised and fell off of his ladder. He quickly got up and put it into the right area. "Sorry about that. These imps sometimes don't know how to do things. They are my assistance that were provided. George, would you come over here?" I asked. The imp who was currently filling inkwells came over.
The imp was a pudgy little thing. It had green skin, and a little tail. There was two horns on its head, and a scrunched up nose. It wore a jacket and some pants, which were quite ragged. It spoke in a high voice, and couldn't really be understood.
George said some jumbled squeaks and grunts. I understood, and responded "No, these are not new assistants. These are just guests who need assistance in life. Now, would you get me the Prophecy of the Cores? Yes, that one. Just look in the Dragon History shelf!!". Gah!! These imps were such a bother sometimes!!
George got the big scroll. As it was twice his size (George was about 2 feet tall), he had some difficulty actually getting down. He manage to grab it, but he fell off of his little ladder in the process. He immediately got up, and stuck the manuscript onto my desk.
"When did you ever get these things? They aren't exactly the most efficient creatures in the world." Simone asked. I looked over towards him. He was rather distraught at such a disorderly library.
"The Cores supplied me with them. I wish I had some better assistance, like you Simone. You worked in a library for most of your life, correct?" asked. I was rather curious. I wanted to see if he could sort the place to my liking.
"Well yes, but how did you know?" Simone asked, rather surprised. Some just never learn.
"Why, I am the Seer of the Hole in the Sky! I know everything about your lives! Anyway, I asked you that because these imps take forever to get everything sorted. I don't know who the last Seer was, but I know he was a slob! Could you help me sort things for the next day or so? Your friends can stay here as well. They might as well train themselves for the battles ahead. Oops." I said. I said a little too much. Me and my big mouth. It has been a very long time since I had magicians to talk with.
"Battles! Who said anything about battles! I want to knock some Robot's heads!" Hector exclaimed. He then went outside to see where the training area was. Before he went outside, I snapped my fingers and made an entire training camp for any magician type. With my abilities, I could do most anything I wanted to.
"It is nice that you are giving us a nice place to live for a while. I will gladly help you sort. Mage, how about you and everyone else go outside, while me and Jeremaeus sort the library." Simone said. Everyone agreed, and left to go see their new training supplies. Simone then looked over at the Seer, and said, "So where do we start?".
~~~~

Krain and Vason made slow going with the truck. It was a pretty fast vehicle, but not as fast as the Vasoncycle. Krain especially noticed Vason enjoying himself. Krain hated laughter and happiness. He shot Vason with his Freeze Cannon, wanting to shut him up. It didn't work, for Vason soon broke out.

"I know you hate happiness Krain, but I am just elated to see the fact you won't transform me at all for the rest of the day!" Vason exclaimed. He was too excited for his own good. Krain lost his patience, and transformed Vason into a basket.

"Hey!! I thought you said you wouldn't transform me any more!!" Vason exclaimed. He was rather irritated again, especially since he was itchy all over. But he knew better than to talk about it.

"Well, since you were so happy, I got tired of it. When we get to the palace, I will transform you back. Deal?" Krain asked. Vason whimpered, rather defeated. That was a yes. Krain sat happily, in his own dark way.

Re: The Magical Resistance (Chapter 6 Posted)(MASSIVE CHAPTER UPDATE!! REREAD!!)

Chapter 7: Living with the Seer

The Guild of Mage was making great time practicing. I supplied crates for everyone to practice their skills. There was scarecrows for Claire to use for sharp shooting. There was even a kitchen for Reicha to cook for her friends. It was packed with every ingredient I know of, which was quite a lot.

Simone was quite a help in organizing the library. Much more efficient than those imps, I might add. With his help, I was able to completely organize my library in just a week. And everyone else had a great time training, away from the tortures of the Shadow Allegiance, and from the hardness of Resistance Life. But I am afraid to say, that they must return to the world below soon.

When my library was finally sorted(no thanks to those imps, anyway), I decided it was best to show them the prophecy.

"Mage, Simone, could you bring yourselves and everyone else into my study. I will show you the real reason why I brought you here into the Hole in the Sky.", I called. Everyone soon came. I knew it was time to show the Guild the Prophecy.

"Let me show all of you the real reason you came here", I said. I brought out the huge manuscript that George brought the week before. "This manuscript is one of the oldest I know of that is in this study. This is the Prophecy of the Cores. it is time you see it for yourself.". I cast a spell of Recitation, and the words came to life with the images of the time this was made.

Many years ago, there were 8 Dragons, one for each element. They created the world of Magika, and there was peace for a time. The dragon of Shadow was angry with his place in the world, keeping the Corrupted Ones at bay in the world he created. So he rebelled against his brothers, and corrupted the Magikans to his being. For this, the other dragons banished him to the world he created. The Shadow Dragon sworn that he would corrupt the entire world, and control everyone.

There were previous times he escaped from his prison, but his demise was met when he encountered the Wizard Jeremaeus. He was slain that day, with the Wizard as well. Little did he know that the Wizard still lived in immortality. But the Wizard forgot something of great importance. When the Shadow Dragon died, there was something he left behind. The same thing the other Elemental Dragons created when they sacrificed themselves: The Cores. The Shadow Dragon created the Shadow Core.

The Core was in a dormant state, where it couldn't produce the magic necessary for the world to use it. The core would have been a black sun, but otherwise, it would have been something like a rubber ball, with no apparent usage. But when combined with 300 corrupted souls sacrificed to the core, along with the blood of the leader of those souls, the dragon can return to the world. With this it can truly corrupt the entire world.

There is a way to prevent this. The Wizard of the current generation, when it learns all of the other 7 elements, can stop the Shadow Dragon from returning. The Seer can assist the learning, but cannot solely teach him. Another 7 Magicians, who oppose the current rule of this world, can teach him to his potential. When the Day of Sacrifice approaches, the Wizard must have gained the Sorcerer Level of each of the Seven Pure Elements. If he does not stop the Leader of the Corrupted Ones before this day, the Dragon will rise, and the Wizard will be corrupted with the rest of the world.

Everyone was stunned at the Prophecy, even myself. Mage stood up, with what looked like a grey, rubber ball. I was quaking with fear.

"Jeremaeus... are we the ones listed in the Prophecy? And is this the Core of Shadow?", Mage asked. He held the grey, rubber ball towards me.

"Y-yes Mage. You are the ones listed. Your description in other scrolls matches perfectly. As for the ball... it is indeed the core. When it pulses with black glowing with a dark aura, then it will be the Day of Sacrifice, and the Wizard must defeat the Leader of the Corrupted Ones.", I responded.

~~~~
When Krain and Vason arrived at the palace, of course, after Vason shifted back, they were ordered to appear before Darcius. They were quite afraid, with the leader after all. Darcius was in a very dark mood. He then spoke to the duo.
"Krain, Vason, did you hear of the break-in at the Warehouse? Yes, of course you have. Anyway, when I was robbed, a very important item was stolen from me. It was a little grey ball. But it is so much more than that. Could you tell me Krain?", Darcius asked. He was demanding an answer.
"Uhhh... was it the Core of Shadow? The one that you were talking about when you made us generals?", Krain responded. He was answering with what he knew.
"That is right, Krain. The Rebels who stole from it stole that too!! Without it, I cannot revive the Shadow Dragon! And I happen to have the picture of the Core. But what is more important, is the fact I have the images of the Rebels who took them. Look for yourself...", Darcius asked. He gave Krain a picture, with Mage and the others. Krains eyes shot open.
"But Sir!! If we don't stop these rebels and retrieve the Core, we will never truly win! What will we do?", Krain asked. He was desperate for an answer.
"It is not what will we do. It is what you and Vason will do. I charge you with finding these seven rebels, as well as retrieving the Core. It will also fulfill your goal with finding the Last Time Magician. Now, go! Find those rebels!!", Darcius ordered with the ferocity only he could do. Krain and Vason saluted, and Krain transformed Vason into a motorcycle.
"I thought you wouldn't transform me for the rest of the day?", Vason asked. He was rather annoyed.
"I'm tired of my promise. I broke it. Now, to Lifeien!!", Krain ordered. He pulled the gas, and they were on their way to the Life Continent.
Chapter 8: Finding the Wizard
Mage and the others knew that there was no way that they could win unless they could find the new Wizard. Luckily for them, I know how they can find him.
"I am sure you are thinking that there is no way you can win, unless you find the Wizard.", I said. Everyone else agreed, thinking the same thing I said. "Well, I have a solution. Let me give you this.". I handed Mage a small, golden ball.
"What is this?", Mage asked. It was a rather curious looking object, if I say so myself.
"It is a device I invented in my spare time. My magical signatures, from what I have studied, are the same as the new Wizard, even if he or she hasn't learned any magic. This MagiTek runs on all of the different oils, so make sure to refill it every so often. Just make sure not to lose it. But most important of all, do not lose the Core. If you do, there is no chance you can prevent the sacrifices. Take care.", I explained. These were very wise words.
Mage agreed, and told everyone to get ready to leave. They certainly know how to pack. Cooking ingredients, new tools, sleeping supplies, everything you could name necessary to camp and discover. It was certainly a skill to have. Simone came up to me, and asked me a question.
"Jeremaeus, why can't you keep us, the Wizard, and the Core up here, where no harm could come to us?", Simone asked. Very important question this was.
"I cannot keep you here for the simple fact that my magic can only keep people here for only oh-so-long. After about two weeks pass, the objects or people teleport down below somewhere where I can't know. This place is only meant to permanently keep the Seer and the passed Wizards. It is far too sacred for any regular object or person down below on the earth.", I explained. I was sad to say this, but it was true. Simone was rather sad to hear this as well, but he understood.
After about an hour more, everyone was ready to leave. I was sad to see them go, especially Simone. His sorting abilities certainly made my life easier. Those imps were not much help to talk with or to sort with. Anyway, as soon as the packs were packed and shouldered they were ready to leave. When Mage gave the word, I uttered the words of teleportation, and saw them go down below, where I will never see them for a long while.
~~~~~

Mage found himself on the land of Terra Firma, along with his friends. It was a desolate plain, after the sinkholes. There was no civilization of any sort to be seen. There might've been some underground, but the ground was so soft, that there was likely to be none. Brock looked at his homeland, looking ashamed.

"I hate the Allegiance for what they done to my home. I will certainly train the new Wizard when the time comes. But why were we sent here?", Brock asked. Suddenly, there was a flash of light, and the form of myself appeared.

"I have come to help you. This is only an illusion, but I can communicate temporarily. This is the remains of a once great city below. In this area, I believe you can find the new Wizard. Search for the nearest refugee camp, and you may find the Wizard. I must go now, but I hope I will see all of you again.", I explained. I then left in the flash of light I appeared in, then I was gone. Everyone took my advice, and searched for the nearest camp.

~~~~
Vason and Krain were whizzing across the landscape of the Shadowlands. it was a dark barren landscape, with no life whatsoever. There was, however, many factories for MagiTek devices, and they were in huge numbers. The sky was covered in the smoke created from the machines. Krain loved this landscape a lot.
"So Krain, why are we headed to Lifeien? I mean, wouldn't another continent do just as well?", Vason asked. It was rather hard to say this, for the wind was blowing hard.
"The reason why we are headed to Lifeien is the simple fact that there is an informant I know of that could help us. He is rather heightened in the knowledge of magic, and it's users as well. He should know fully well on how to find the new Wizard. Get ready to fly, Vason. We are approaching the ocean.", Krain explained. He was right that they were approaching the ocean. Krain transformed Vason into an airplane, and started flying over the ocean.
"But Krain, what is so special about this informant? He could just be a phony.", Vason stated. He was having an even harder time speaking, for the wind was blowing even harder.
"He helped us on numerous occasions, when we were just bounty hunters. You might know him as Jacques.", Krain explained. He was enjoying this little conversation.
"Jacques! He is the owner of your favorite restaurant, the Cactus Spike! You’re sure that he can help us find the Wizard?", Vason asked. He was seeing land. Boy, was he fast.
"I know he can be of help. He was one of the poor saps who studied magic for a living, and knows everything there is to know on this world.", Krain explained. He saw the land as well.
"We approaching land. You know, you are very quick when you put your mind to it. Prepare to turn back into a motorcycle, Vason. We are going to land.", Krain added. He loved that café, so he didn't want to miss it.
"Oooh, can we get some fried cactus spikes that were fried in Cactus Juice? That's my favorite dish from there. It is still nasty, but it is the best!", Vason exclaimed. He wanted some nasty food, apparently.
"We can catch a snack while we are talking. Prepare to have wheels again.", Krain stated. He then transformed Vason back to a motorcycle, and zoomed off to his favorite café.
Re: The Magical Resistance (Chapter 8 Posted)
As an author, I would like some opinions about my story. Anyone would do. I would just like to know what people think of my world.
Chapter 9: Wanted: 7 Rebel Magicians
After hours of traveling on the landscape of Terra Firma, they reached the closest refugee camp there was. It was in a sorry state. Many people were sick. Others were elderly, young, or just plain injured. What was worst was that there wasn’t any healers to help them. It was a doomed sight to behold.
Everyone was afraid of the magicians that approached. They didn't know if they were a part of the Shadow Allegiance, or the Resistance. Either way, they were afraid. Both parties treated the Terra Firmians with the same disrespect. They were afraid, until they saw Brock.
Once they saw Brock, they knew that the other wouldn't harm them. In fact, they saw an old man come up to them, giving them thanks for bringing an Earth Magician. They needed protection after the Sinkholes. Brock however, needed something else.
"People of this camp!! Are there any apprentices among you?" Brock asked. There was murmurs among the crowd, with no apparent answer. A lady came up, and told them their story.
There were multiple camps of Earth Refugees along the continent. There was one camp of refugees who were gathering all of the magicians they can, in an attempt to take back their rocks which supported the underground. Just days ago, they took all of the different magicians among them. Even all of the Apprentices.
The lady told the guild where they could find the camp. It was further north, along the coast. The camp would have a gigantic wall of sand supporting it. There is where they can find all of the apprentices. Mage and the others followed the instructions, and set off to find the Wizard.
~~~~

Krain and Vason soon reached the Cactus Spike. It was a ruthless place, with nothing but thugs having fights over nothing, and bad food and drinks. Krain and Vason took a seat at the counter, and awaited their bartender. Jacques came up, and asked for their order, knowing their business here.

Jacques was surprisingly a very clean and trim man. He had on the usual get-up of a waiter, and wasn't afraid of anything. But of course, there was a reason for this. His left eye was just a blank white ball. It was covered with an eye patch usually, but he does reveal it when he wants to threaten some thugs.

"So, what would you like? I know what you are here for, just give me something to give, here.", Jacques asked. He was a gentleman, if his gigantic muscles said anything about it.

"We will take two orders of your Cactus Spike fries. No drink please, just the fries." Vason answered. He was considerate enough to give an order to Krain.

"Alright, two Fried Cactus Spikes, on the house! So, what would you want to know about, General Krain? I know you would come here for that.", Jacques answered. He gave the ticket to the cook while saying that.

"I want to know if there is any way I can find the new Wizard. The Lord charged me and Vason to find the Wizard and the 7 Magicians who are trying to find him. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?", Krain asked. He was busy munching on some cactus spikes. They came surprisingly quick.

"Well, the main way to know is to see the flash of light when the magician achieves a Sorcerer rank. Of course, you want a faster way than that, don't you. Here, a little gift.", Jacques answered. He handed Krain a little rusted ball. "It isn't much, but I invented the little thing. That little gadget can tell you if the Apprentice it is held towards has the potential of being the Wizard. It will glow a bright red when he or she is near. Have good luck with your assignment.".

"Thank you, old friend. Thank you for the food. I will leave a little gift as well.", Krain stated. He got off of his stool, whipped out a poster, and stabbed it into the nearest wall. The thugs went quiet. What was on the poster was an image of Mage and the others, with the word Wanted at the bottom. Below it, it said there was a major reward.

"We are having these seven Rebels wanted for High Theft and Treason. Whoever brings all of these magicians to Shadowtropolis will get a ten billion Gracian reward. Have fun finding them.", Krain roared. The thugs ran out, wanting the cash prize. Gracians were the currency in Magika, and they were rather scarce. Everyone was desperate to get that money.

Krain walked out of the restaurant, looking rather victorious. Vason was rather confused. Did they have that much cash to give?

"Krain, do we even have that much money to give. One billion Gracians is a lot of money, even for Lord Darcius." Vason asked. Krain looked over at Vason, smiling. He was releasing dozens of little bots, each holding a stack of wanted posters.

"Of course we don't. But there is a major prize: the honor of being corrupted by the Shadow Dragon. What an honor that is.", Krain answered. He was an evil genius.

~~~~
Darcius was in a good mood now. He sent his best men to find his greatest threat, and the wizard will soon be his. He was especially happy to find that there will be a little uprising in Terra Firma. No matter. He will just corrupt them all. He was in the mood for some mayhem in another continent.
"Lieutenant, send several squadron of Shadow Guards to handle the northern coast of Terra Firma. There seems to be a little uprising by the Earth Magicians.", Darcius ordered through his microphone. The lieutenant agreed, and went to send the troops. Suddenly, bright flash of light occurred, and I appeared before him.
"Hello, Lord Darcius. Did you miss me?", I asked. I was being sarcastic here.
"No, I've just been having the feeling of ripping your immortal head off of your body. But, I know you are in the Hole in the Sky, writing about the lives of the remaining people of Magika.", Darcius answered. Me and him have had many other conversations like this. I was never truly his enemy anymore. I was just guiding the Resistance now.
"I have come to try and counsel you out of reviving the Shadow Dragon. Do you know what would happen if you revive it?", I asked. I sometimes thought that Darcius was crazy.
"I will revive the Shadow Dragon because he was my only true friend. Vason and Krain are nice, but they won't achieve the evil that the Shadow Dragon has done. So, I want him back.", Darcius responded. What a fool he was.
"You are thinking of his good personality over his bad one. You have never seen his other side. I must go now. You now I can't stay long.", I said. The great flash of light occurred once more, and my apparition disappeared.
"Oh, I've seen the bad side. I love it even more." Darcius said to himself. He was certainly crazy.
Chapter 10: Locating the Wizard
Mage and company arrived at the camp around nightfall. Brock was especially tired, as he was using his earth surfing skills to help bring everyone there in time. It was a special talent of Earth Magicians to glide along the earth with no friction upon them. Anyway, with them arriving, it stirred things up in the nearby camp.
Mage first noticed the gigantic sand walls surrounding the camp. It certainly was the place, for when they peered through the entrance, they saw little boys and girls Earth Surfing. Brock was glad to see some Earth Magicians again. There wasn't very many remaining after the sinkholes the Allegiance caused. As soon as they walked through the gate, refugees surrounded them.
It wasn't unusual to see little magicians raise the earth to let them see over huge crowds. It was especially popular to do that, to see who could make the tallest tower. But the guild wasn't interested to see sandy towers. They wanted to find the wizard who lived in this camp. The problem was, there was so many little Apprentices running around, it was hard to see who it could be. They needed someone to round them up.
In Terra Firma society, it is usual to take on as many as twenty students at a time. There was always the head teacher, the one who rounds them all up when it is time to learn. So when they saw a rather old lady yelling at the youngsters, Brock figured that that was the teacher. She needed help, so there was only one way to round up Earth Apprentices: Using a circle of rock.
It was quite a simple task of getting them all in one spot. All you have to do is make a circle of stone as big and wide as the crowd of children, and slowly shrink it. It is like herding chickens together. Brock got the job done in a flash.
"Thank you for getting them together. I can't use Earth Magic right now because my arm is rather limp. Thank you, again. What is it you need?", the old lady asked. She was deeply grateful, and she had the apparent signs that her arm was limp. It didn't do any good for magic when you only had one good arm.
"We came here to find a particular apprentice. Are these all of the Apprentices in the Camp?", Brock asked. Most people in Terra Firma were comfortable talking to people like Brock.
"Yes, this is. We only have 15 of them. There is only a few more Sorcerers and one Mage. We are lucky to have so many to protect us. Please, feel free to look for the apprentice you need to find.", the old lady told them. She was looking like that she needed her life easier by having less apprentices.
Mage looked around, waving the little device that I gave them. There was no signal, and the guild of magicians almost gave up hope, until there was a faint signal. It was very faint, but the Wizard was close enough in the camp. There had to be more apprentices.
"Are you sure these are all of them? There has to be one more.", Brock asked. They couldn't stop searching now.
"You know, now that I think about it, there is one more. He tends to stay in his family's tent, he is just so shy around the other kids. Their tent is in the far west of the camp.", the old lady responded. She knew what she was talking about.
The guild went over to the tent, and saw a little boy, just reading a book of magic. But they saw a bright light, and it was coming from the little device. This wasn't any ordinary apprentice. This one was a Wizard.
~~~~

Krain was headed towards the borderlands of Terra Firma, on the back of a Vasoncycle. He received word from Lord Darcius that there was a camp along the coast that had most of the Earth Magicians on the continent. Krain figured that the Wizard was bound to be there somewhere.

"So Krain, why would you make the Rebel Magicians wanted? Wouldn’t the capturer take the glory instead?", Vason asked. He should have listened the first time. Krain was mad at this question, and promptly slapped Vason on the cheek, like a mother would do when her little boy was caught stealing cookies. Vason whimpered at the pain of Krain's flyswatter hand.

"He won't get any of the glory, because I will Corrupterize him first. If he got any of it, he would be killed. We are approaching the sea, so get ready to be a boat.", Krain said. Vason groaned, and gotten ready to be seasick. Krain clicked a button, and Vason turned into a miniature speedboat. There wasn't anything worth talking about as they didn't have anything TO talk about.

Once they arrived on the continent of Terra Firma, Vason was a motorcycle again, and he was driving along the sand. There wasn't anything worth talking about yet either. Krain wasn't in a very conversational; he wanted to just get to that camp. Boy, was he boring.

~~~~
Darcius was actually headed to the continent to advise the invasion. He wasn't going to risk the chance of capturing the Wizard either. He thought a lot like Krain, in terms of searching. As long as the capital was safe, he was fine as well to leave. But Lord Darcius wasn't going to let the Earth Magicians see him as posh. He wanted to appear sinister and cruel.
Darcius put on his best armor, and packed his favorite weapons to leave. He was going into battle as well. What fun would it be without him fighting. His servants weren't much of a challenge. so he needed something exciting.
There would only be a handful of survivors. One of which could be the Wizard, and seven others could be the Guild. But I won't say a thing. I am just a Recorder, after all.
Chapter 11: The Wizard Found
The boy was named Kane. He was a quiet studier, and never was very talented at magic. He was actually quite shocked at the statement that he was the Wizard of the generation. He tried to tell Brock that they must have made a mistake, but it was hopeless to try and change everyone's opinions. He was indeed the Wizard.
Brock explained to his parents that he and the others would like to tutor him around the world. They explained how he had great potential in magic, leaving out the details about Kane being the Wizard. The parents were quite unfortunate in life, and were happy to see their little nine-year-old boy getting a chance to travel around the World. They accepted Brock's offer, and helped Kane get ready to leave.
After about an hour, Kane was ready to leave for the world. Mage explained why they were really leaving, leaving out the details about the Prophecy. Mage didn't want to make Kane concerned about his destiny. Kane sighed, and shouldered his knapsack, showing he was ready to leave. Simone thought it would be best for them to go to Oceana.
"Why should we go elsewhere? We would be perfectly safe here.", Brock asked. He wasn't really wanting to leave just yet.
"There is a battle approaching, and we would be safer to go to my continent, where there re more books of learning left than here. Sure, the library was destroyed, but there are sure to be other ways to teach him than through oral methods!", Simone argued. He was also tired of seeing the same boring landscape of Terra Firma. The two argued until they heard the sound of a gunshot in the distance.
"What was that?", Kane asked. He was especially frightened, afraid that the Allegiance was here for him.
"It was a gun. But not just any gun. It was a Magic Blaster.", Hector whispered. Magic Blasters were the basic gun of the time. Most everybody was afraid of them, as they did horrible things to the body depending on the Elemental Oil. They were devastating to people like the Earth Refugees. Mage knew they had to stop it.
"Hector, Claire, Brock, come with me to handle the battle. Reicha, Felicia, Simone, protect Kane. We need him.", Mage ordered. He was the leader of the guild. Everyone obeyed, and Hector, Claire and Brock followed Mage out of the tent. All of the Earth Magicians will be killed if these invaders weren't stopped.
The battle was already taking place when they walked out. There were bodies littered about, being shot by the horrid guns. At least the Earth Magicians stood a chance against the invaders. Their magical skills crushed the robots, and they were made of hard steel. But the bots were the least of the magicians' worries.
Darcius was in the back of the huge 300 men army of the Earth Refugees. He was surrounded, and he couldn't bring out any of his weapons. But he remained calm, and used a pulse of magic to repel the attackers. He was bad news to anybody facing him. But what made matters worse, Krain and Vason were there too. Vason was clobbering the other side, and Krain was shooting refugees with his Freeze Cannon. Things weren't looking good.
Mage came into the battle first, and stopped time in the vicinity. He couldn't actually damage robots with his Time Magic. What made Time Magicians potent was their fighting skills when time was stopped. He crushed the heads of the robots who were in the vicinity, and began time again, only for the robots to be out of order. Then Claire came into the battle.
Claire's strategy was different. Instead of getting up close to the opponent, Lightning Magicians shoot from afar. She aimed her magic, and shot the robots one by one. Her sniping skills were the best in her family. And her family was one of the best.
Brock came in secretly to the miniature war. An Earth Magician's strategy was either to raise rocks from afar, summon rock guards to do the job, or dug underground and strike from below. Brock took the third option. Earth Magicians like him were very stealthy diggers, and could pretty much take out any opponent that was under them. The Shadow Guards stood no chance.
It was pretty typical what Hector done as an attack strategy. He came flying into the battle, with his boots blazing with the flames that propelled him into the air. He struck the Shadow Allegiance with fiery fists and Inferno Whips, a special ability of Fire Magicians. With the intense heat, the robots' metal actually melted, and their circuits were fried. This battle was going to the Resistance.
There was one thing about this movement that was interesting. Only half of the Shadow Guards were on the side Mage and the others were fighting on. The other half was making a pincer movement, going from the other side. This was never good, for the other side was left undefended. Krain and Vason were on this side, wanting to get a sneak attack in.
"Why should we go in quietly when we can go in with guns a'firing? Wouldn't be more fun?" Vason asked while whispering. Krain thought he was a dunce most of the time, so he smacked him across the face with his Cannon. Vason really was a dunce.
"No, you oaf! If we gone in there with all the noise, we would lose the element of surprise, losing the battle! And besides, battle was never meant to be fun.", Krain yelled as loud as he could in a hoarse whisper. He wanted to shoot the enemy right now as well, but he was smart not to. If he did, he would probably be killed.
They soon reached the camp, and the enemy were virtually hopeless. The Allegiance was inside the camp, and there was pretty much no hope for the refugees. But Kane should be more concerned. Krain was headed for his tent, because Jacques's little device was glowing red.
Chapter 12: Danger from the General
Mage was knocking the block off of a bot when he sensed something wrong. A raiding party normally has more Shadow Guards than this. He knew from previous moments. Anyway, he knew something was wrong, so he dropped the bot, and continued back to the camp.
Everyone else a part of the guild followed. The robots on that side were pretty much decimated anyways. Once the 4 Magicians gotten inside the camp, they saw refugees in sudden fear, afraid of the Shadow Guards pointing their blasters at them. Mage quickly dealt with them, and ran towards the tent that Kane was in. He sincerely hoped that no harm came to him.
When they reached the tent, they saw something they never hoped to see. A strange eyebrow man was holding a Freeze Cannon to Kane's neck, and Simone, Reicha, and Felicia were trapped in a strange type of rope. Suddenly, it moved, and they saw a face.
"Look Krain! It's the Last Time Magician! Who knew that after all of these months we would find them!", the rope said. He was excited to see their grand prize in the room. Krain pinched the rope out of anger.
"Shut up Vason. I can see that he is the Time Magician from his robes. Who else in the world would wear grey with green?", Krain said angrily. He was quite annoyed with the rope.
"Well, many imitators wore the robes, and that didn't stop you from arresting them. You beat them until they could hardly move when you found out that they were just fakes.", Vason responded. Instead of a pinch, Vason received a kick. Vason squealed in pain, not wanting to say anything more. From what Mage could see, they were fools, but competent.
"Anyway, we just came here for two things: You, and the Wizard. If you come willingly, I can let your friends go free. If you don't well...", Krain said maliciously. At the last sentence, Vason tightened himself, threatening to strangle the three wrapped in Vason. Mage was afraid of the two people. He was too tired to use Magic right now, from his battle of course. So, he came close to Felicia, wanting something to work with.
"Felicia, could you whip a little wind behind Krain's back?", Mage asked. Felicia got the idea, and moved a little wind with what she could from her fingers. The magic worked, and soon, Krain looked behind him, wondering where the breeze was from. Hector blasted the Freeze Cannon with his fire, causing it to fry its circuits.
The Freeze Cannon is a great weapon. It can freeze your opponent in seconds. But there is one bad side to it. If its freezing Water Magic Oil reaches intense heat, it bubbles and fizzes. Eventually, it explodes.
Krain didn't realize what was going on until he heard the alarm, alerting that the Cannon was about to explode. Kane gotten out of his grip, and the others managed to get out of the Vasonrope by tickling Vason. The eight magicians quickly ran out of the tent, not wanting to get caught in the explosion. Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light from the tent, and then a big blast. The tent blew sky high, and they saw the charred forms of Krain and Vason.
Vason shifted back into his regular form, thanks to Krain, but that didn't help his condition from the explosion. Both of them were black all over, and Krain was furious.
"You cheats! I will catch you and bring you to Lord Darcius! You'll see! You will all see! You will regre--", Krain never finished. The tent came back down, and landed right on top of the bumbling generals. There was a moan detected, and it showed that they were beaten. But Mage knew they would be back.
Brock now knew it was time to leave his homeland. He was glad to see people of his own nationality for the first time in months, but he knew he had a more important responsibility: Teaching Kane more Earth Magic. He said good bye to everyone, and walked off with his friends towards the open plains. But he had a better idea for traveling around.
"Kane, you know how to dig with Magic, correct?", Brock asked. He had a smirk on his face.
"Of course I do! That is one of the first things I learned!", Kane exclaimed. He was a little surprised that Brock would assume such a thing.
"Well then, how about we dig all the way to our sister continent, Flamerica? It is just connected to the North. Shall we?", Brock asked. He didn't receive a response, because Kane was already digging there. Brock dug down into the ground, using his Earth Magic to move the earth the way he wanted. He considered it a race. Mage and the others went down the tunnel, heading north to Flamerica, the Fire Continent.
~~~~

Darcius snuck into the camp. He didn't want to be surrounded again by all of the refugees again. He made it to the blast site, seeing Krain and Vason under the canvas of a smelly brown tent. He whipped the tent off of them.

"You fools! I told you to capture the Wizard and those rebels! Not to nap under smelly tent!", Darcius yelled. He was actually rather surprised at seeing the duo there, thinking they were on Lifeien. Krain shook himself awake, seeing their lord staring at then with unseeing eyes. He immediately got up, saluting.

"Wake up you fool! Or else I will turn you into a basket again!", Krain whispered. He kicked Vason until he woke up. When he saw Darcius, he immediately got up and saluted, much like Krain. "We are sorry, Lord Darcius. We were about to bring the Wizard and the other Magicians when we were bamboozled.", Krain explained. He was shaking in his boots now.

"Well, I thought you would have been smarter than that. My sentries report that they saw the Earth Magikan digging north to Flamerica. You better chase them now!!", Darcius roared. Krain immediately transformed Vason into a bike, and drove north. Darcius headed back to his ship, where he could continue handling affairs from afar.

Chapter 13: An Explanation from the Seer

I believe that this is a good moment to describe how I work, and how magic works. There isn't much going on down below. Krain and Vason are just chasing underground Magicians, which are headed towards Flamerica to find an new safe haven. Yeah, it is just a travel scene now. Meanwhile, I Jeremaeus will explain how I, and how magic, works in this world.

Me as a Seer is quite lonesome. You can't have someone up here for long before they end up going somewhere down below the Hole in the Sky. They could end up in the ocean for all I know! And alas, I cannot summon the same person twice. It is sad how the life of a Seer is...

The only company I really have are the Imps. They are smelly, and quite rude, if I say so myself. They have horrid librarian skills, which is all I asked for from the Cores! Some assistance that know how to sort, not assistants who know how to snort. Sometimes, I really wonder if one of these imps have a grain of intelligence. Oh, look. Now one of them has a pen up their nose. Hey Donny! That isn't for shaving your beastly long nose hairs!!

Anyway, as I was saying, those Imps just don't have good habits. What were they originally, frogs? That would be cleaner, if they were. Oh, now one of them is using one of my stew pots as a helmet! Hey Aaron, get that off right now!!

I proceeded to beat the imps senseless to show them how to behave. Anyway, I think it is time to explain how Magic works. It is quite simple actually. Although, I don't think you quite understood from my writing. It will be explained down below.

First off, Water magic. It is usually down by waving hand motions, just as the ocean moves. And with this type of magic, it is usually stronger using already existing water, other than creating it yourself. In fact, that is why most cities in Oceana are close to the ocean, so they will have optimal defenses. These magicians are also able to transport cargo and passengers via Water Wave, a form of water magic to go across bodies of water. Most water magicians can only go on for about three hours before they need rest, and if they are in the middle of the ocean, well, they take a swim.

Next, Earth Magic. It works much the same as Water Magic except the Earth hand motions are more jerky, and they have more 'oomph' to them. And as stated before, this type of magic is usually stronger with existing Earth, not so much when you create it. Also, with the Earth Magicians' digging powers, they will the earth to move how they want. This also includes the floor below them, so they can have a treadmill system to bring the cargo or passengers with them, to go faster.

Then, in the next of the Basic Elements as I call them, is Fire. Fire magic usually works in clenched fists, causing intense friction from the magicians fiery abilities, making fire. Fire magicians are classified as the strongest of the Basic Elements, but I personally think Air is. And also, the Fire continent Flamerica was completely dry to let fire roam free, but was soon turned into a swamp from the destruction of the dams keeping the water away.

The final of the Basic Elements, Air. Air is usually done in flowing, graceful movements, with usually the twirling of some body part to make wind. Air magicians lived in the sky, away from the rest of the world. Their floating cities were one of the famous sites in the world of Magika, and there wasn't much else besides that in the Air continent. Breeza. Unfortunately, these marvelous cities were destroyed by the super storm the Shadow Allegiance created to make the Air magicians weaker.

I must pause my little explanation for a little bit. Elian, would you stop using that hammer to knock Fred senseless! Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. It is time to move on to the explanation of Life Magic.

Life magic is a part of the Advanced Elements, as I call these next four. This magic is the only one which requires life in the first place. Without life, this magic is pretty much useless, as its abilities include charming animals and plants, and assistance in searching for cooking ingredients. That is why most of the cities of Lifeien were located in forests. But the Shadow Allegiance took this to their advantage, and burned all of the forests to the ground.

Next is Lightning magic. This magic is mainly used far away, as the farther away the target, the more power packed. That is why most Lightning magicians are used as snipers in guilds such as Mage's. But besides their combating abilities, they are very intelligent in the workings of electronics. In fact, they were in production in something called 'power lines' before the Shadow Allegiance destroyed all of the factories that were producing their metal parts.

Then, is the most powerful element of all, Time. Time magic is never actually used in combat, except for the aging of things. Time magic is usually used to teleport items(teleporting items to a different point in space in that time), making themselves younger(which is why Time Magicians can live forever), and the stopping of time in a particular area. The last choice is what is usually done in combat, along with the Magicians fighting skills. But sadly, the Time Magicians were destroyed by the Shadow Allegiance, and only Mage remains.

Lastly, and certainly least, Shadow Magic. This magic doesn't really have any practical use, except for one. Shadow magic can be used to bend someone's will to your own, and can make them corrupt. This is why the Shadow World was created, to send any corrupted beings away from the good of the World of Light. But if their leaders escapes that prison, he can summon his subjects. Only when the ruler is sent away again, or is destroyed, can the Corrupted Souls return back to the Shadow World.

This finishes my explanation of the different magics for now, and just in time to. Back to the Guild's story, while I deal with those horrid Imps again. FRANK!! How many times have I told you that the ink pots are for ink! Not your urine!

Chapter 14: Finding a Safe Haven

After hours upon hours of digging underground, the guild made it to Flamerica, and saw the flooded plains that was caused by the breaking of the dams. When Hector saw this, he looked down at the soggy soil of the once dry plains. Now it was just a swamp, devoid of anything dry.

"We should find somewhere safe. I can't dig anymore, I am just far too tired.", Brock stated. You could see the sweat on his face from his constant digging of the soil.

"Same here. Unless we find somewhere safe, we might be captured by Krain and Vason.", Kane stated. He was also very tired, and couldn't dig anymore. Mage scanned across the plains, looking for any sort of shelter. He then saw a ruined city, which was washed down from the flood months back. Hector saw the area, wondering why such a big structure was still standing.

"In Flamerica, we made our cities out of solid rock, from the volcano in the middle of the continent. When the floods came, it washed away the soil surrounding all of the cities. The rock cities sunk down into the ground, considerably lowering their size. I know for a fact that it is not possible for that city to exist on this continent.", Hector stated. He was a native of this place, and knew what he was talking about.

"Well, we have no other choice of where to go. If we don't go somewhere else soon, those hunters will catch us. We have to go.", Reicha responded. Hector looked over at Reicha, then over back again at the city. He knew that there was something wrong with that, but he knew he had to escape the Generals. He went along with it, and followed everyone else who was going to the city.

~~~~
Krain was exhausted from his constant yelling at Vason, who claimed his wheels hurt. Krain finally made it to the stopping point of the tunnel. He looked down from the bike, and looked for clues of where the magicians went. Suddenly, he saw tracks towards the north, to the ruined city. He gave a sly grin.
"Vason, do you know where those confounded magicians are headed?", Krain asked. He was wondering if Vason remembered their council meetings.
"I know. To somewhere they can rest, like I need!", Vason exclaimed. He was tired of being transformed for so long. Krain slapped him on the face, for being a dunce.
Krain replied, "No, you oaf. They are headed to a city I had designed myself. The supports under the city help keep it above the swamp. But the Flamericans didn't agree without a price. That is an Allegiance city. And any Resistance members discovered within their walls are sent immediately to Lord Darcius.".
Darcius was headed home in a little dingy. His main ship had a leak in it, and none of the crew members noticed. He was soaking wet from having to escape his ship. He hated this day. Now all he really needed was to see people Corrupterized.
Suddenly, a bright flash of light occurred, and Darcius saw the apparition of me sitting on the other side of him. I was smirking as he was rowing the oars himself.
"If you want to ask for my help, I won't be able to. You know I am just a figment.", I stated. I was quite proud of how the force of good was going.
"Oh be quiet, Seer! I know it was thanks to those rotting refugees that I am in this gigantic puddle! What next, you are going to cause a ring of sharks to surround me?", Darcius asked. He was being sarcastic here.
"Well, I don't cause the events. I just help them along. I am the envoy for the Force of Good, while you are the leading cause of the Force of Evil. Good always prevails.", I stated. He and I were wise, but Darcius wasn't wise enough.
"Well this time, Evil will prevail. Besides, you definition of Evil is my definition of Good. And vice versa. You killed the Shadow Dragon, and some day, you will pay.", Darcius stated. He was churning the water with his staff, which held water magic to caused him to move much faster.
"That day will never come, for I am the Seer of the Hole in the Sky. I am immortal, and nothing can kill me. I must leave now, for those imps are nothing but trouble. BAD day to you.", I stated. Another bright flash of light appeared, and my apparition disappeared. Darcius stared coldly at the spot where I sat. He hated that seer.
~~~~

After about half an hour, the guild soon made it to the city, which was named Franion. Franion was actually nicer than most of the cities in Flamerica. This city was nicely designed, as if it really did come out of a new age. It really did. Mage wasn't prepared to be caught by Shadow Guards.

"Alright everybody, get your black cloaks. We don't want to be known as Magicians. This could be a dangerous city.", Mage stated. Everyone obeyed, and whipped out their cloaks from their packs. After everyone was situated, they continued throughout the city. There were many shops, who were hoping to have some customers. There were a great many people haggling with the shopkeepers, hoping to get a better price than what was listed This is how most cities were in the world today.

After some time walking through the marketplace, Felicia noticed a poster. It had pictures of them at the heist, and there was something alarming about it. It had the word 'WANTED' right at the top, and at the bottom, it stated that there was a large prize. Felicia quickly told mage about this, him being the leader.

"We have to be even more careful around here now. There is sure to be dozens of those posters around every city in Magika. We need to tear down any we can see.", Mage stated. He tore down the poster, and put it into his pocket. They were wanted magicians.

Chapter 15: Danger in the City

Mage did tell everyone to stay quiet, but that doesn't mean that they couldn't do some shopping. He gave everyone 100 Gracians to work with. After their recent heists, they had plenty of money to use. Kane stayed near Brock, as he was most comfortable next to a fellow Terra Firman.

You could easily figure out what everyone was looking at. Claire was looking for electronics, Simone for books, Reicha for cooking ingredients. Hector, Brock, Kane, and Felicia were searching for something to buy. There wasn't really anything that could suit their magical types. That is, until they saw a special staff.

It was a marvelous staff. Carved with intricate symbols, it was easy to see what it was: it was a Magical Staff. Infused with special Oils, it could enhance the abilities of any magic user. There were few left in the world, so they all hoped their combined money would be enough. The shopkeeper noticed them, and turned around.

"So, you want some of my magical wares? Well, you don't look like magicians, so I suppose these would make nice traveling items.” the shopkeeper said. He was a rotund man that looked like he was wealthy from his output of money. Wasn't surprising, considering the prices for these items.

"Yes, we would be interested buying some items. How much would that staff be?", Felicia asked. She asked because she was actually an excellent haggler. The cities above the ground of Breeza had numerous shops. Felicia loved going to them, and was never prepared to leave unless she had a great price on what she wanted.

"Well, that staff is quite rare. I would say it would be worth 800 Gracians. From the looks from your pockets, I can see you don't have enough.” the shopkeeper stated. He had a smirk on his face, probably still thinking that he was the one with all of the money. Felicia shook her head.

"No, we have enough. Tell me, why would this staff be worth that amount of money?", Felicia asked. Her haggling skills were kicking in.

"Well, first of all, it is a rare item, and it is made of... um... hard wood?", the shopkeeper stated. He honestly didn't know how it was made.

"Well, for all you know, it could be a regular old staff. Could you sell it to us for about, say, 400 Gracians?” Felicia asked. The shopkeeper was losing confidence, but he wasn't about to give up.

"Look kid, I hardly ever get customers. Only if they were magicians would I... wait. Only magicians would come here.", the shopkeeper said. He knew that everyone wearing black cloaks were magicians now. He saw them all walk in, and he figured they were a group. But not any group. They were a Guild, for the Resistance.

"Stop those kids wearing cloaks! They're magicians! And they could be a part of the Resistance! Get them!” the shopkeeper yelled. Everyone quickly obeyed, chasing after the eight magicians. It was a tough fight for the shopkeepers, as they were all usually big and fat. They tripped over each other, and caused a gridlock. The shopkeeper who first noticed them as magicians looked over at his stall, and saw that the staff they were wanting was gone.

The magicians might have escaped the fat stallers, but they didn't escape the police of the city. They were slim, trim, and ready for catching. They were within a city, so Mage ordered everyone to split up, to try and lose them. They followed, and split up into the alleys of the confusing city. There was only four of the policemen, so they split up into finding them as well.

The first policeman was knocked out from a rock to the head, by Brock of course. He wasn't about to be caught by scum like them. The second was knocked out by an electrocution. And it was caused by Claire. Also, the third policeman was frozen into place by Simone's freezing abilities.

The fourth was hot on the trail of Felicia and Reicha. They wanted to go together, and it was certainly best that they did. The fourth was approaching them with a grin on his face. He held a pair of Magic Gauntlets, the items which can prevent a magician from using their magic. All police forces had these. This wasn't the first time they were caught like this .

The staff was still missing, so someone must have taken it. Not surprisingly, it was Felicia. As her saying goes, she isn't willing to go until she has what she wants. She brought the staff out, and used it to assist her magic. The staff quickly adapted to the magic of Felicia's, and was controlling the wind. The wind was strong enough to blow the policeman sky high, with his screams of his fear of heights. She brought him down with a hard 'thud' and the last policeman was dealt with.

Everyone quickly got back together at the outside of the city. When Mage, after having escaped the authorities, saw Felicia's staff, he asked where she got it.

"Oh, you know me. I never go without something I want. The shopkeeper didn't get much out of it. He just got some bruises from fellow fat guys.” Felicia responded. Everyone laughed at this, and I was too. Felicia was indeed a good haggler. She got the best price out of the shopkeeper: free.

~~~~
Krain and Vason made it to the city, only to find that the shopkeepers were all in a gigantic mass. Vason was transformed into a pulley, to get the chubby salesman to talk. It put a lot of strain on Vason, but he could handle it. And after everyone was out, Krain interrogated.
"Alright, who was the fool who started all of this!” Krain yelled. The shopkeeper selling the staff came up, and said he was the one.
"Did you see anyone looking like this?” Krain asked. He was holding up the wanted poster. He pointed out that he saw 3 of them, plus another. They were chased by policemen; all eight of them, but the authorities were soon found stopped by magic. Krain then gave the order for everyone to be Corrupterized though his communicator. He didn't care about the cries of anguish. These people needed punishment for letting 7 rebel magicians escape.
Re: The Magical Resistance (Chapter 15 Posted)
I really like the premise for this story. The prologue was particularly interesting from the beginning, especially the elemental dragons as creators of all. It is clear the story is well thought out with the history and backstory of the Magitek stuff.
At the beginning, I felt like the introduction to all the main characters at once and the listing of their hair color and such was a bit methodical and read like a grocery list rather than a smooth introduction to each characters personality. But as the story goes, the main mages get a chance to shine, so good work there.
As for suggestions, I'd just say try to focus on description and your prose a little more. Like I said, the story is obviously well thought out, but at certain points it tends to read as a list of facts rather than a balanced story. Give us some more insight into the emotions and thoughts of the characters instead of simply the actions they are making. What's going on around them? Paint a picture for us.
Overall though, and extremely interesting story. I will be interested to see where you go with this. Keep up the good work.
Chapter 16: A Secret Camp
Brock wanted to escape as soon as possible, so he dug underground again, and everyone followed. They knew that the best way to escape Krain and Vason was to dig stealthily. So he dug, and everyone followed. Eventually, they came across a huge boulder underground.
The boulder was larger than twenty men spanning their arms, all in a line. It was perfect for Brock's purposes. He dug a tunnel straight into it, which was a very difficult task. Digging through solid rocks takes more effort than soil, and if he was digging through it, it was for a great purpose.
After his little tunnel was done, Brock invited them in. What they saw inside was the work of a master Earth Magician craftsman. It was a miniature home, perfect for 8 Magicians like themselves. And there was everything a family would need, and this guild was pretty much a family.
"I knew I would find this sometime. Magicians like me have a knack for finding boulders like this to make homes. I think we can live here for a while, so I think we won't be expecting Krain or Vason anytime soon.", Brock stated, feeling proud. It truly was a masterpiece. One could live here for many years, so long as they have the right supplies. Lucky for them, they went on a shopping spree just half an hour ago.
So they made themselves comfortable. There was a little workshop for Claire, and even shelving for the new books Simone gotten. There was a kitchen for Reicha, and even a large training dojo for everyone, even Kane. It was perfect for everyone's needs. Everyone's, except Mage's.
"It is very nice Brock. But there is one thing that you can't ever make: A Table of Time, from Timezonia." Mage stated. He then went to find one of the bedrooms in the huge boulder. Brock's proud feelings washed away, remembering what Mage needed. No one knew how to create a Table of Time, except Mage. He wasn't willing to say the info, so he just brooded with himself, remembering the Wonders of Timezonia.
~~~~

Timezonia was indeed a wonderful place. It was a marvelous creation, and no other continent in the world of Magika matched it. Left and right you could see cargo delivered by teleportation. Many schools were in teaching, and it was at peace. And what truly protected them was the Guardians of Time.

The Guardians were automatons created by the first Time Magicians. They kept the boundaries of Timezonia safe from invasion, and nothing escaped their sight. It was impossible to destroy them, and they could live forever. But, there was one key weakness: They could not protect the city from the inside. If the enemy got inside the walls, only the magicians could stop them.

In the invasion of Timezonia, the Time Magicians at first were winning. That is, before a talisman of Darcius' was used. It was a grey block, with a jade stone set in it. What was special though, was the mixture of Shadow and Time Oils inside. Shadow reverses any Magikal Oil that is out inside it. If Time Oil is put inside, then it prevents the ability of stopping time in a certain area. This talisman affected a large area, large enough to stop the cities of Timezonia for good.

With that talisman used, the magicians stood no hope. Their combat technique was useless, and they fell. With Darcius's orders, there was no quarter given. All but one of the magicians were killed, and their knowledge was left with one person.

~~~~
Mage sat thinking about the war, while everyone else was making their home ready. Brock created a tunnel upwards, that way they could refill their stocks of food. Claire, Simone, and Reicha got ready their areas of the house. Kane and the others got their rooms ready, wanting to have something more comfortable than solid rock.
After several hours, the house was all in order, and it was ready to be lived in. Kane was the most important person and was sent into the dojo to be taught by Brock. As Earth Magic was Kane's native magic, he figured it would be best to get him to the Sorcerer level in that magic first. He delivered soil from the tunnel, and they got to work. For the first time in months, they were safe.
~~~~

Krain and Vason were not having much luck with finding the rebel magicians. They followed false trails, most likely caused by that Earth Magician, and they couldn't find any sort of tunnel. They were stuck, and it was hopeless to find the rebels.

"Krain, couldn't we use that little device that Jacques gave us? It detects the Wizard, and wherever the Wizard is, the others will follow." Vason wondered. He was having a 'brain spark' moment. Sadly, it was short lived.

"The device was burned in the explosion from the Freeze Cannon, and it only works when we are close to the Wizard. We are stuck without leads." Krain stated. He was in a depressed mood, from letting their quarry get away from him. He saw a little scrap of a food label, but it was just enough to tell that the magicians were nearby. He would find them, for the honor of resurrecting the Shadow Dragon.

~~~~
Darcius, after hours upon hours of rowing, made it back to the Shadowlands, the continent of Shadow. He had a long trek ahead of him to Shadowtropolis, and he wasn't wanting the company of a meaningless Seer, like me. Sadly for him, a bright flash of light occurred again, and my apparition appeared before him.
"So, you made it to land. How do you appreciate fate now?" I asked. I enjoyed it when I was wise, yet funny to myself.
"Oh, shut up, Seer. I am hating your arguments of good versus evil. You know I will always remain on the truly good side of vengeance." Darcius vowed. He really believed that he would win. It will be close, but you never know.
"Ah, but I am not here to say that. I am here to tell you that Krain and Vason lost my 8 Magicians once again. Such fools they are, Krain and Vason. I will leave now, and a good day to you, if you ever have one." I stated. I teleported away with a flash of light, and I was gone. Darcius thought on those words, thinking how he was going to handle his generals. He hated that Seer.
Thanks Legacy! And yes, I think I can improve on the description areas. And it is nice to see someone on the forums here review my story. Once again, thanks. Oh, and when I type in bold, it is not a part of the story(except if it is in the story itself). No new chapter yet.
Re: The Magical Resistance (Chapter 16 Posted)
Chapter 17: An Explanation from the Seer
Before I go on with our little story, I believe some explanations are in order. I think that you think the magicians are the most powerful beings, able to conquer any situation. Well, you are wrong. They are certainly not the most powerful, and they cannot conquer any situation. Let me explain.
Magic is a tool. As all tools go, all tools need power, whether it is the person, or an energy source. In this case, the person's mental endurance is what is making the magic go. If the person's mind cannot complete the task, then the magic fails, and the movement is useless.
Magic does have a simple principle. The smaller the task, the easier it is, and the longer you can do it. Such as Brock when digging. He can go on for hours for a time, as the soil is very easy to move. Rocks are different. The bigger the task, the harder it gets, and the smaller the amount of time you can easily do it.
Air is a matter which is difficult. With Air, you can move it around wherever you can. It most of the time easy to do. But using air to repel objects is much harder to do, and requires more mental energy. There are also limits on where air can be used. Air can be created only in large, sealed areas, where air can't get in.
Water is a different principle. As said before, water that is created is not as strong as natural water. There is another principle, where creating water is much more of a mental stress, and should only be done when you are in desperate need for water. And the bigger the body of water you want to control, the harder it is going to be to control.
Earth is the same principle as Water, only different. Earth Magic is easy to do when digging through soil, but moving, creating, or digging through solid rock is very hard. And the bigger the rock, the harder it is to move. I cannot imagine how Brock created that boulder home...
Fire is one of the simpler rules to understand. Fire doesn't have many limitations, but there is a main one. If you try to burn living things, there is more resistance in controlling the fire. This is why fire isn't usually used in actually turning someone on fire. You can cast fire towards them, but you cannot directly start a fire on a person.
Lightning Magic is a different concept as well. Lightning is easy to cast from afar. And smaller bolts are easy to aim, so that is why Lightning magicians are great electricians. But, Lightning Magic cannot be used in melee, as it is much harder to hit closer. And when a thunderstorm is going on, if you attempt to use the lightning inside, you will be terribly weakened, but you will leave the strongest blow possible in the history of this magic.
Life magic has the strictest rules. You cannot create life, and you may not make a nonliving being, living. With Life magic, you can see whether objects are good cooking ingredients, for you to eat. But, to influence plants and animals, it depends on the mind power of the thing. Animals and plants have very simple minds, and can easily be controlled. But, influencing a human is extremely hard, and is only more effective the dumber the person.
Time magic has complicated rules. First off, you cannot time travel, for it can cause consequences you would never want to happen. When transporting objects, you can only transport objects to an area you have seen and remembered. Stopping time is easier the smaller the area. To stop time in a very large area, you will require more mind power. And lastly, you cannot kill with time magic, as you cannot stop a living thing by itself.
Shadow Magic has the evilest of rules and abilities. You can influence things until they are corrupt, or you can meld into the shadows, away from any person's sight. But, you cannot hide where there isn't shadow, and the larger the mind power of a person, the harder it is to influence them. This is why the Shadow Dragon was so powerful. He had the most mind power of anyone, and could easily influence others into his work.
So, you have seen the weaknesses and the limitations of magic. The magic is only as strong as its user, and the larger the task, the more power necessary. Magic does not use physical power, but mental. Mental power is called Magika in this world, which is also named Magika. Without these rules, magicians wouldn't be the way it would be.
I might as well explain a little history as well. All of the continents suffered different histories, and each of them different tales. Earth magicians were destroyed in the homes they love. Fire Magicians were destroyed by the thing they hated. But this will all be explain now.
Earth magicians were destroyed by the land falling on them. With the lack of support from the rocks above, the soil collapsed, and the cities were smothered. The reason why is because the Shadow Allegiance moved the rocks from the earth using earth magicians that were corrupted. With these magicians, the Terra Firmans were destroyed.
Breeza's cities were knocked out of the sky with the assistance of corrupted Air Magicians. These magicians manipulated the clouds, forming and merging them. Eventually, they created a super storm that eliminated any cities that were in the sky. With the corruption, many were lost.
The Flamerican dams were destroyed by the fire of corrupted fire magicians. With the dams burned down, the cities fell, and the land became a swamp. No fire existed anywhere, and none could live.
Zapasia was simply raided. But the raid was assisted by Lightning magicians who were corrupted. They struck down any defenders of the cities. Defenseless, they were taken, and razed. There were few survivors, and the Zapasian factories fell silent.
Oceana's cities were burned to the ground. But the corrupted water magicians had a hand in delivering the Shadow Guards to burn down the cities. They disguised themselves, and let the guards in. They eliminated any water magicians by freezing them to death, and the cities were nothing but ashes.
And finally, Lifeien. The corrupted Life Magicians influenced any animals into attacking the city. That included the gigantic bears that lived in the mountains. The influence was stronger than the Life Magicians to handle, and they were killed. Any remaining buildings were burned, and the forests were destroyed. The animals too, were killed.
As you can see, the corruption of the Shadow Allegiance was strong. It was strong enough to eliminate all of the great continents. With the corrupted magicians’ power, there was nothing the other could do. And as for the Element of Time? Well, that will come for another time...
Chapter 18: The Table of Time
After the boulder home was created, it was to be a home base. The home did the job well, as it was deeply hidden underground. It was warmed by the fire Hector made, lit with the same, and was watered with Simone's water. It was as comfy as it could be.
Here is the usual day of the magicians. Simone created fresh water, while Hector restarted the fire. Claire was working in her little workshop, while Reicha was cooking meals. Felicia ventilated the little home, while Brock taught Kane how to be a Sorcerer. It was honestly a mystery of what Mage done in his room. All he asked for was a hammer and chisel from Claire, and a huge hunk of rock from Brock. Beyond that, he just stayed in his room.
After about a week, it was time to restock on supplies. Reicha's food store was low and needed replenishing. So, she went out to a city named Hader to buy her supplies. Hector accompanied her, to keep her safe. Whenever Reicha was involved, Hector was sure to follow. It was like that he loved her or something like that.
While everyone was doing their daily routines (which was honestly just fooling around while Brock trained Kane), they heard a whoosh of air, coming from Mages room. Soon after this, they heard a cry of outrage.
"CURSE THIS INFERNAL PICK!!” Mage roared. He was fuming, and whenever he was, it was never a good thing to be around him. Everyone heard a loud clanking of metal against stone, then screams of anger. Felicia opened the door, with a deep sigh, and went inside. She was hoping that he wasn't too angry to be around.
Inside, she saw a disorderly room, which was neglected of care. They saw bed sheets thrown all over the bed, and bits and pieces of rock around what looked like a table. Mage was kneeling down against it, sobbing. He must have really needed that construction project. And when Felicia looked at the top of the table, she knew why.
It was an intricately designed piece of furniture. There were words of magic spiraling all around the object, like it was to do something for the user. There were shapes around the center, with all of them involving time. There was a gaping hole in the middle, in a perfect cut. The only thing that ruined it was the gash in the side of it, altering the words.
"Why did you come in? You know I don't like being disturbed.” Mage said in a dark tone. He was wiping away the tears of frustration from his eyes while saying this.
"I came in when you gave that yell. You've been cooped up for a week, and we were worried about you.” Felicia responded. She was thinking of why this table was so important. The others soon came in, as soon as Felicia finished.
Mage saw everyone, and sighed. "I suppose I should tell you what I have been designing." Mage explained. He stepped away from the table, and everyone else saw what it was. "It is the one thing that Brock couldn't design: A Table of Time." Mage explained once more. 'So this is what it was', everyone thought.
"Why didn't you tell me about this? I could have helped you." Brock asked. He was a very great stonemason, and could design pretty much anything.
"I didn't need your help at the time. But now I do. See that gash?", Mage questioned. Brock said yes. "Well, that was the result of a shaky arm. I need you to replace the rock that was there, that way I can finish this table, and view into the past. Everyone gasped at this. No one ever truly knew what the table did, until now. They were all thinking the same thing: Let me see my past, Mage.
Brock answered his question, and repaired the damage done on the table, with his magic of course. The rocks went back into their proper places, and it looked like a piece of uncut rock. Mage carefully chiseled away the rock again, only finishing the words instead of ruining them. After the last ring of words was completed, there was a mystical green glow, and the table was ready to use.
"So, whose past should I view first?", Mage asked. Felicia was the first to say, and he kept his word, and readied the table. "Hold out your hand, so I can view your memories.", Mage instructed. Felicia obeyed, and Mage held her hand. She felt a surge of energy, running all the way to her head, and then she saw her grandmother, rocking her to sleep. How she missed her.
~~~~

This session started when Felicia was only four-years-old, being rocked by her grandmother. There was a comfortable home, with air-related items all around her. Pinwheels, kites, everything that involved the air. There was even a window of the deep blue sky. Except, there was no ground visible. This was in the floating city of Cumulos.

"Gramma, why do we live in the sky?", young Felicia asked. She was really curious then.

"Because sweetie, we are Breezans. We are the masters of the air. We embrace it wherever we can. We are surrounded by it, so we can harness the power wherever we go. That is why we live in the air Felicia.", Felicia's grandmother responded in her old lady voice. Felicia yawned, and stretched, then made one last question before she slept.

"Gramma... will I be a great Magician?", she asked. Her little eyelids were drooping.

Gramma looked at her, then looked at the sky.

"Yes you will, my little girl.", her grandmother said. She gave a kiss to Felicia on the cheek, and set her in her bed, sleeping sound dreams of flying in the sky. Her grandmother walked out of the room, and into her own.

~~~~
At the end of the scene, Felica wept. She deeply missed her grandmother, and wanted to see her again. She died when Felicia was nine, just when she became a Sorcerer. She died while sleeping, and died from her old age. Felicia cried for days on end, wanting her grandmother back. Her parents disappeared, and her grandmother was her remaining family. She had no choice but to stay in an orphanage until the crash of the sky-cities.
"Mage... please show me again. Please...", Felicia asked. She was sobbing heavily, doing her best to hide it. Mage just shook his head.
"Viewing the past is an addictive thing. Many magicians like myself have gone mad from seeing the same event over and over again. The same could happen to you if you follow the same path. It is time for you to leave me be. Good day.", Mage replied. Felicia understood, and went to her room, still sobbing. She wanted her grandmother back so badly. Brock, Kane, Simone, and Claire went back to their daily activities in sorrow. They never knew the past could be such a sad thing.
