Neither.

I'm very much heterosexual, so I dislike yaoi extensively. I find Yuri to be quite boring and I fail to see the attraction.
Your sexuality really isn't the justification. There are heterosexual men (very comfortable and not risking to jump the ship) who don't mind yaoi (we even have a at least one completely straight man on these forums who does actually like a gay pairing, though he's not quite up for the rest of them). It doesn't extent itself to many heterosexual men, but simply because you are isn't a reason. Just say you don't like it, sexuality undisclosed.

Why? It's the truth. I'm confident in my sexuality, and I'm not afraid to say that the idea of two dudes smooching it up is a major turnoff for me. And the biggest factor is, of course my sexuality. What other people say or don't say really has no bearing on how I view it.

Well, I like Yaoi and Yuri and look at them equally.

...I'm bisexual, and gender doesn't really matter to me. I find dudes and chicks hot, so yeah.

I prefer and read much more yaoi, probably because I'm gay *eaten by Luna Tiger* and that's attractive to me but if its written well and I like the characters/ship (such as KarenxClair) then I'll read yuri too. Likewise, if there a yaoi story but its terribly written I won't read that either.

It's a perfectly good justification. I don't like reading yuri because I don't enjoy descriptions of sex with women. I'm comfortable with my sexuality, will readily admit to considering certain women physically attractive, and to kissing a woman in the past - but the idea of doing anything more physical with a woman frankly turns me right off.

Yeah, I've read some fantastic fanfiction exploring same-sex relationships between characters in various series. Not all of it is sexual, and some of it is very well written and believable.
This is oh so true. I read a really good one-shot that had same-gender pairing that wasn't sexual.

Is it me? XP

Whichever one is cuter/hotter/written better! It really depends. But yaoi andyuri anime and manga don't interest me much. I like my yaoi and yuri from fandoms.

Okay, here's a more detailed answer then

Yaoi isn't my thing. I'll admit there is some good stuff out there, but nothing beats romance between two girls when you are a guy. Why? I don't know, I jsut find it attractive.

In the words of Douglas Walker, "Hello, hot character trait."

This. Except you have to swap the genders around. I'm a girl who is very into Yaoi.
I'm straight and I don't mind Yuri, but it does make me feel a little uncomfortable at times.
I think you can use gender as justification as to why you prefer one over the other. Usually, females tend to prefer Yaoi and males tend to prefer Yuri. The key word here being usually.

This.

Both can be good or bad depending on the author, theme etc yada-yada but as he said, nothing beats romance between two girls when you are a guy.

Lesbians for men are like gardeners for women, they just make you horny. On that note, Yuri for sure. I prefer it over regular porn to be honest, cause Anime girls on Anime girls>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>human girls on human girls.

@Luna Tiger
While sexual orientation doesn't have to play a role, it often does. I'm a lesbian, and frankly, Yuri is HOT. xD Yaoi? Not summuch.

But that's just me~

And you make it sound like all things yuri/yaoi have to involve sex. Which is wrong. >_>

And actually, you contradict your first statement anyways, going into the second sentence. That is good justification, however just saying "I'm straight/homosexual/bisexual/whatever" as why you like yaoi/yuri is not. It can be the reason you feel weird reading about relationships between a girl and a girl or a guy and a guy, but not the overall reason as to why you prefer yaoi/yuri/neither as any orientation and gender can like yaoi/yuri/neither. Your orientation does not define if you will or won't like yaoi/yuri/neither, but it can influence what you feel uncomfortable reading.

No, being straight doesn't necessarily preclude a man from liking yaoi. But whoever said it did?

What I'm saying is that if a guy says, "I'm straight so I don't like yaoi," it's pretty obvious what he means and why.

However, it does imply that, which is the point the few of us are pointing out. It's the same thing with the gender comment I made before. It implies because they are male/female(/homosexual/bisexual/heterosexual/etc.) that it automatically means they must like yuri/yaoi, not that it is because of their gender/orientation that they feel uncomfortable reading/seeing yaoi or yuri couples.

I personally just don't think gender/sexuality should be brought up for this since it isn't the reason but the influence for the reason. >_>

Again, it doesn't have to be a reason but it can be a reason. I see no problem with bringing it up as one.
