YES! The bird should definitely get a not so predictable move (the strangest we've had so far is Close Combat for Staraptor).

I can imagine the animation being Zurrug's head turning hard as rock and gleaming (think Pikachu's Iron Tail, but as stone).

I can't imagine Roost being used in the anime, but that would be great strategy-wise. Sky Attack is a bit meh for me because what's unique about Hatoboh is that it's a special attacker (or at least from what I've read it is). Hell yes to Taunt if it makes Protect go away! I wouldn't mind it getting Razor Wind since we haven't seen it in years I believe. Facade would also be cool and sparkly.

I'm thinking Zurrug will learn Head Smash because of its constant Headbutting (I believe dman_dustin suggested this at one point). All your suggestions sound lovely to me, too.

I think it would've be cool if Ash had caught a Larvesta. There are several Fire-type moves it can learn that would make its battle style different from Tepig's.
